After leaving the two men the lab, Rogers set out to do his own snooping.  When Lyall saw him wandering the halls, she couldn't help but notice the mischievious look the young man had on his face.  She quickly and quietly followed the young man, carefully taking each step as lightly as possible.

She saw him open one of the doors, and quietly entered the room, not suspecting that she was following him.  He quickly made his way around the room, almost as if he knew what he was looking for.  Lyall made sure she was close enough to keep an eye on him, but far enough away where he would not see her following him.

He finally came across what he was looking for, and slowly opened the box.  He had found what he was looking for.  Lyall frowned, upset at what the two brilliant men planted in his mind.  As hard as he tried to be the perfect soldier, his curiosity got the best of him.  Lyall quickly and quietly jumped down from where she was hiding and Rogers jumped, surprised.

Lyall's frown deepened before she spoke.  "Some things are kept from us for a reason."

"You knew about this?" He asked angrily.  Lyall shook her head in denial.  "No, I did not.  I trust Fury though, whatever he was trying to do he must be doing to to help protect the world."  She stood up straight, listening to everything around her.  "Banner." She whispered, as she ran away from Rogers.

She heard exactly what Loki had said, she knew she needed to get to Banner before it was too late, she had to be there for her friend.  She quickly entered the lab not too much later than Fury.

"What are you doing Mr. Stark?" He asked as he entered the lab.

"Uh, kind of been wondering the same thing about you." Came Stark's smartass reply.

"You're suppose to be locating the Tesseract." Furry informed him.

"We are." Banner cut in. "The models locked and we are searching the signature now.  When we get a hit we will have the location within a half a mile."

"And then you will have your cube back.  No fuss." Stark spoke up.  "What is phase 2?"

Fury snapped his head towards Lyall,  "I tried sir." Was all she told him before Rogers came in slamming the weapon he found on the table.

"Phase two is S.H.I.E.L.D uses the cube to make weapons.  Sorry, the computer was moving a little slow for me." Rogers informed everyone.

"Rogers we gathered everything related to the tesseract.  This does not mean-" Rogers began but was interrupted by Stark yet again.

"I'm sorry Nick, what were you lying?" Stark asked as he swung a screen around to face Fury.

"You're wrong director, the world has not changed a bit." Rogers snapped.

"Did you know about this?" Banner asked Lyall, Thor, and Romanoff.

Lyall immediately growled, attracting the attention of everyone in the room.  She began breathing heavily, clearly aggitated.  "I told you two to stop this nonsense.  You can argue about this all you want after we get the Tesseract back.  Until then we need to fucking stay as a team." She snarled, showing her overly large canines to Stark.

"You want to think about removing yourself out of this environment doctor?" Romanoff pointed out.

"She's right, Bruce.  Loki's goal is to manipulate you." Lyall stated as she calmed down.

"And she has done what to me?" He asked Lyall, refering to Romanoff.

"You didn't come here because I batted my eyelashes, Banner." She told him.

"Listen, I'm not leaving because you two suddenly become a little twitchy." Banner snapped at the two women.  "I would like to know, why S.H.I.E.L.D is using the Tesseract to make weapons of massive destruction."

"Because of him." Fury childishly pointed out.  It finally clicked in Lyall's head.

"Me?" Thor asked.

"I get it.  The destruction that was caused, none of our weapons were capable of protecting the human race.  When creatures from your planet came to Earth, humans could do nothing but run with their tale between their legs.  With weapons that use the Tesseract, humans can finally protect themselves from any invasion." Lyall explained to everyone.

"You're not the only people out there, and you're not the only threat." Fury continued to explain.  "The world's filling up with people that can't be matched.  They can't be controlled."

"Like you control the cube?" Rogers asked.

"Your work with the Tesseract is what loured Loki to it, and his allies." Thor told Fury.  "It is the signal to all the relms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war."

"A higher form?" Rogers asked.

"You forced our hand.  We had to come up with something to-" Furry was once again interrupted.

"Nuclear deterrent." Stark stated. "That always calms everything right down."

"Remind me again how you made your fortune, Mr. Stark?" Fury fought back.

By this time Lyall was beyond pissed off.  She saw exactly what she was to prevent happening right before her eyes, everyone attacking each other and nothing she said could stop it.

"Are you boys really that niave?" Romanoff now butted in.

"If you guys would just pay attention to what is going on around us you would notice something bad is going to happen." Lyall tried warning, though everyone continued to argue.

"What are we a team?  No, no. no, we are a chemical mixture that makes chaos.  We're, we're a time bomb." Banner spoke up.

"Banner, please stop thinking like that." Lyall begged, not wanting Banner to let his anger get the best of him.

"You need to step away." Furry told Banner.

"Why shouldn't we let the guy let off a little steam?" Stark asked.

"You know damn well why.  Back off." Rogers yelled at Stark.

"We are only a time bomb because no one can trust each other!" Lyall yelled out again.

"A mutt like you would be loyal to a man who adopted you as his pet." Stark snapped back.  "Yeah, I know all about you, Lyall."

Rogers clearly was angered by the way Stark was talking to Lyall and quickly stepped in between the two.  "And what are you?  A big man in a suit of armor.  Take that off, what are you?" He asked.

"Genius, billionare, and playboy philamperist." Stark quickly shot back.

"I know guys with none of that that are worth ten of you.  I've seen the footage.  And the only thing you really fight for is yourself.  You're not the guy to make the sacrafice play.  To lay down on the wire, to let the other guy crawl over you." Rogers continued.

"I think I'm just caught more." Stark replied.

Rogers slightly chuckled before responding, "Always a way out." He paused.  "You know, you might not be a threat, but you better stop pretending to be the hero."

"A hero?" Stark asked.  "Like you?  You're a labratory experiment, Rogers.  Everything special about you came out of a bottle."

This not only touched a spot on Rogers, but also hit Lyall.  "You better choose your words carefully, Stark, or you might find your vocal chords ripped right out of your throat." Lyall threatened, her nails elongating, showing a side of her no one besides Fury has seen before.  She stepped back, allowing herself to calm down, ignoring everyone around her, focusing on just Banner.

"Romanoff, plese excort Dr. Banner back to his-" Furry never got to finish what he was saying due to Banner interrupting him.

"Where?  You're renting my room." Banner informed Fury, referring to the cell.

"Your cell was-"

"Just in case you needed to kill me.  But you can't, I know, I've tried." Everyone stopped to stare at Banner.  Lyall stepped closer to her friend, wanting him to understand that she is there for him.  "I got low, I didn't see an end.  So I put a bullet in my mouth and the other guy spit it out." He paused, allowing everyone to soak it in.  "So I moved on, I focused on helping other people. I was good, until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk.  You want to know my secret, Agent Romanoff?  You want to know how I stay calm?"

"Dr. Banner." Rogers spoke up.  "Put down the scepter."

As Banner looked down at the scepter, he noticed that it was glowing.  Just as soon as everyone took notice to Banner, the lab equipment started to beep, signalling that they were within a half mile radius of the Tesseract.

"Sorry kid, but you don't get to see my party trick after all." Banner said as he placed the scepter back onto the table and walked over to the screen.

Everyone began arguing about the Tesseract, almost as if the beeping reminded them of their original argument.

"You're not going alone." Rogers told Stark.

"You're going to stop me?" Stark challenged.

"Put on the suit and we'll find out."

"I'm not afraid of you, old man."

"Put on the suit."

"Oh my god." Banner lightly said before an explosion on the ship occured, causing everyone to fly back.

Lyall expected to land on something hard, though the contact with the hard ground never occured as Rogers had wrapped his arms around her securely.

"Damn it.  Are you alright, Steve?" Lyall asked as she stood up, her wounds healing quickly.

"Yeah." He whispered, then turned to Stark.  "Put on your suit."

"Yep." Stark replied as he lead the way out of the room.  Lyall quickly followed the two, know they could use the extra help.

As the three ran to where Stark's suit was at, they carefully listened to what Hill had to say about the third engine going down.

"Stark, Lycaon, got that?"

"Come on Mr. Stark.  It's time we work as a team."

As they made it to his suit, Stark stopped and told both Lyall and Rogers to meet him at engine three while he got his suit on.  As the two were running, Lyall could here the cry of the Hulk.

"Shit." She whispered, stoping to look back, Rogers noticed her sudden cease in movement and stopped and turned back towards her.

"What is it?" Rogers asked.

"The Hulk has awaken." She told him.  "We need to hurry as fast as possible with this so I can keep him occupied the rest of the flight."

"Are you crazy?  He can kill you!" Rogers told her, not wanting her near Banners while he was not himself.

"He has yet to do so." Lyall replied with a smirk, continuing to run to Engine Three.

"Stark!" Rogers yelled out as he and Lyall arrived to Engine Three.  "Stark!  Stark we're here!"

"Good."  Stark replied.  "Let's see what we've got."

Lyall could hear Stark mumbling to himself, though through the noise even she could hardly hear what he was talking about.

"I need you to get to the pension control panel and tell me which relays are in overload position." Stark ordered Rogers.

Rogers quickly moved to the panel to do as he was told.  Lyall quickly followed Rogers by flying up to the panel, not wanting to leave his side.  As Rogers threw open the door, he stared at all the wires, buttons, and flashing lights, not knowing what to do.  Lyall smirked at his confused face, knowing more about these things than he did.

"What's it look like up there?" Stark questioned Rogers.

"It seems to run on some form of electricity." Rogers replied.

Lyall couldn't help but laugh at how naive Rogers could be at times, finding it more adorable than irritating.

"Well, you're not wrong." Stark responded.

"Lyall, can yous see which relays are in the overload position?"  Stark asked her instead.

"Yes, Stark.  I'll show Rogers what to do."  Lyall quickly showed Rogers how to verify that all the relays are intact, and worked together fast to get the job done.

"Ok, the relays are intact." Rogers informed Stark once both him and Lyall finished.  "What's our next move?" He asked, moving everything back to where they belong and out of the way.

"If I don't clear the rotors this thing wont break gage without a jump." Stark told the two.  "I'm going to have to get in there and push."

"If that thing gets up to speed, you'll get shredded." Rogers told him.

"That stater control unit can reverse the polarity long enough to disengage mad-" Tony was interrupted by Rogers.

"Speak English." Rogers yelled, not understanding a word of what Stark was telling him.

"See that red lever?" Tony asked Rogers, causing Lyall to slightly chuckle.  "It will slow the rotors down long enough for me to get out.  Stand by it and wait for my word.

Rogers quickly jumped across to where the lever was and did just as he was told.

As Stark worked on clearing the rotors, Lyall heard foot steps coming their way.  "Rogers, we have company coming our way."

Rogers looked at her confused, until he heard the foot steps as well and saw the two men.  As Rogers left to fight the men, Lyall quickly made her way to the lever.  Rogers quickly took down one man by throwing him out of the ship, while the second quickly prepared to shoot at Rogers.

Rogers quickly grabbed the gun that the man who he threw off had dropped, and started shooting at the second man.  Rogers took a step too far and lost balance falling off of the ship though grabbing on to a large line that was attached to the ship.

"Steve!" Lyall quickly cried out, running over to him.  The second man took his chance to shoot an Lyall as she quickly made her way over to Rogers, shooting her multiple times in the back.

"Lyall!  No!" Rogers cried out.

"Captain, the lever!" Stark cried out.

"I need a minute here!" Rogers responded, trying to get up to Lyall to make sure she was alright.

"Lever, now!" Stark persisted.

Lyall stood up as the bullets in her back popped out, the wounds immediately healing.

"I got it!" She cried.

Just as Stark lost speed and began tumbling around under the rotors, Lyall pulled the lever, saving Stark.

As a man aimed to shoot at Rogers, Lyall appeared right in front of him, gutting him with her extra long nails and threw him off the ship.

"Lyall, are you alright?" Rogers asked, quickly running up to her and grabbing her by both shoulders.

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine!" Stark called out to the two.

Lyall chuckled.  "I'm fine, but my shirt isn't." She pointed out, referring to the holes in the back of her shirt.

The moment was ruined when Fury announced the death of Agent Coulson.  The three of them quickly returned to the control room in the ship, sitting down at the large table, taking in everything that happened around them.

"This was in Coulson's jacket.  I guess he never did get you to sign them." Fury said as he threw down the Captain America cards in front of Rogers, causing him to feel guilty.  "We're dead in the air here.  Our communications, our location acute, Banner, Thor, gone.  I lost my one good eye.  I think I had it coming." Fury paused before speaking again.  "Yes. We were going to build arsonal with the Tesseract.  I never put all my chips on that number though because I was playing something even riskier." He paused again, then continued.  "That was an idea.  Stark knows this, called the Avengers Initiative.  The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people to see if they can become something more.  To see if they could work together when we needed them to.  To fight the battles we never could.  Coulson died still believing that idea, in heroes."

At that time Stark stood up, almost as if an idea just rolled into his head.

"Well, it's an old fashion denotion." Fury stated beore leaving himself.

Lyall placed a hand on Rogers' knee, attempting to comfort him, though she needed more comforting than he did.  She had known Coulson for several years now, he was a face she could never get sick of, one who would always remind her why she did some of the things she did.  She would miss the agent, no matter how annoying he could get at times.

Rogers quickly stood up, leaving in the same direction as Stark.  Knowing the two needed space, Lyall neglected to follow them and went to find her designated room to be alone herself.
