music always helps him release some stress and anxiety as he drives to the school. the volume is high with his phone plugged in to the aux cord, to some song by his favorite band, the irrepressibles.
he pulls into the parking lot to see an suv, and relaxes as everett gets out of the car.
he does the same, and everett grabs him by the collar again to kiss him. the fireworks are back, yet he's worried that the other boy can taste the chili on his breath even though he chewed about 12 pieces of mint gum before coming.
pulling away with a slight push, he laughs. "you keep kissing me without even asking, it's starting to make me feel like you just want my lips."
"you are so awkward at phrasing things," everett flashes him a smile. "and so what if i do? i like everything about you."
everything? as if he knew everything about aidan? how fucked up he was sometimes, despite his development?
everett shivers. "come on, it's almost january for christ's sake. it's freezing out here, let's get in your car."
