"Ang sakeeeet," she cried out while rubbing her right foot.
"What happened to you?"
"Nakatapak ako ng bato. Natapilok tuloy ako."
I sighed before I carried her in my arms. I clenched my teeth when I saw her face in pain, eyes tightly shut and was clenching her jaw. Mabilis akong naglakad at nang makita ko yung isang nakabuwal na puno ay agad ko siyang inupo sa ibabaw nung trunk.
I sat on the ground in front of her and carefully removed her slipper. I gingerly pressed my fingers on her now swollen foot and began massaging it. "Tell me if it's too painful."
"Aray! Saglit lang. Don't press too hard. It's really painful."
I rubbed my thumb very gently on the swollen area until I felt the muscles on her foot finally relaxed. I looked up to her face after awhile and saw that her eyes were close but relief was now vivid on her face.
She opened her eyes and our stares immediately met. I continued massaging her foot without breaking eye contact with her.
Her face softened and smiled a bit at me, making my chest started to throb rapidly.
Napatigil ako sa pagmasahe sa paa niya at napatayo bigla nang maramdaman ko yun.
"Thank you, Ryder, ha." She tried to stand up but groaned in pain again so I quickly stopped her.
"You'll just strain your sprained ankle." Binuhat ko ulit siya at naglakad na. When we were at the sandy ground already ay nagpababa na siya. Kahit ayaw ko ay mapilit siya kaya hinayaan ko na lang kahit paika-ika siyang maglakad. Inalalayan ko na lang siya sa kamay at naglakad kami kahit mabagal.
When we arrived at the seashore. Umaambon na lang kaya medyo kalmado na ang dagat.
"Paano yan, hindi kita masasamahan mag-swimming. Injured ako eh," she told me.
"We're not going to swim, princess." I pulled her towards the dock. "You said you're already bored. We're going to stay here in the yacht overnight for a change."
Her eyes widened before she tried to pull her hand from me. "Ayoko, Ryder."
I turned to her. "Why? Because you'll be reminded of the thing that I did there to you before? Natatakot ka na baka gawin ko na naman sa 'yo yun?"
Yumuko siya pero hindi kumibo.
I let go of her hand. "Sabi mo hindi na masamang tao yung tingin mo sa 'kin ngayon, di ba?" I saw her nod her head. "Would you trust me that I'm not gonna do anything wrong again against you again?"
Nag-angat siya ng tingin sa akin. "Promise me?"
"They say promises are made to be broken, Katheryne. Hindi ako nangangako sa mga tao pero kapag may sinabi ako, I make sure na ginagawa ko."
"De tara na sa yate para makaligo na 'ko. Baka pag nagkasakit ako eh totohanin mo pang ipaanod ako sa dagat."
I smirked at her. "You're very silly. Of course that was only a joke." Inilahad ko yung kamay ko sa kanya. Ipinatong niya yung kamay niya doon at sabay na kaming naglakad papunta sa yate.
"Hah! Marunong ka palang mag-joke? Pero kung joke yun, bakit di ako natawa?"
I tucked her head underneath my arm.
"Awww! Injured na nga yung paa ko, pati leeg ko babaliin mo pa. Totoo naman eh! You're a lousy joker!"
Doon ko siya dinala sa isa pang yate dahil ayoko naman na dalhin siya doon sa lugar na nakaka-trauma sa kanya. Binuhat ko na siya paakyat dun at ibinaba sa isang upuan.
"Stay there." I went to the bathroom and took the small medicine kit there and brought it to where Katheryne was sitting. "Walang yelo dahil nakapatay yung fridge. Buti na lang may ointment dito." Binuhat ko siya ulit at dinala sa banyo. "Mauna ka nang maligo sa 'kin tapos gagamutin ko yung paa mo."
I let her took a bath first and lent her one of my shirts in the closet. Malaki naman yun at maliit siya kaya hanggang hita niya yung shirt ko.
Then I took a bath also. Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na naligo ako sa ulan dahil sa babae na yun. That was a first time for me and though it was a very childish act, I still admit that it made me feel good. Noon kasing mga bata kami ay di rin kami pinalalabas ng bahay ni Trevor ng mga magulang namin tuwing umuulan sa takot na magkasakit kami.
Nang matapos ako ay kinuha ko ulit yung medicine kit at nagpunta agad sa cabin. I found Katheryne on the bed already, wrapped under the duvet.
"Nilamig naman ako dahil sa ulan na yun."
Lumapit ako sa heater at binuksan yun. Then I walked towards the bed and sat down on the end under her feet. "Ilabas mo yung paa mo. I'll apply ointment on it to reduce the swelling."
Inilabas naman niya yung paa niya mula sa comforter. I put some ointment on her foot and massaged the cream gently on it.
"Aaaaah..."
I frowned when I heard her moaned. I looked up on her face from her foot and saw her closing her eyes and lips were parted. I felt my côck jerked inside my undergarment and cursed inside my head. I immediately diverted my gaze to her foot once again.
"Ang sarap naman. Ang sarap mo pala magmasahe. Dapat pala sa 'yo 'ko magpapa-foot spa eh. Hmmm..."
I swallowed as I felt my throat dried up. Dāmn this girl. She didn't know what she's doing to me.
I quickly released her foot and covered it with the comforter hurriedly. "Okay na."
She opened her eyes with a sullen face. "Bakit huminto ka na?" Inilabas ulit niya yung paa niya sa comforter. "Ituloy mo lang. Masarap eh."
"Okay na yun. Wag kang makulit. Anyway, do you want to eat? May stock pa ng canned foods and chips si Trev sa cabinet sa kitchen."
She smiled at me. "Pwede bang pizza na lang?"
I crossed my arms over my chest. "Magpapa-deliver ako. Anong toppings ba ang gusto mo?"
"Wait lang. Kikilitiin ko muna yung sarili ko para matawa naman ako sa joke mo," she said before laughing out loud.
"Pag di ka pa tumigil, ako na kikiliti sa 'yo. Ano na nga? Gusto mo bang kumain?"
"Wala ka bang something hot diyan? Gusto kong mainitan eh."
I raised my brow. "Me."
She frowned at me. "Ha?" Napatigil siya bago tumawa ulit nang malakas. "Oh goodness! Now that was funny! Ikaw hot?"
"Women always find me hot."
"Yeah, yeah. Always hot tempered! Sige na, Ryder. Baka may coffee ka diyan or tea or hot chocolate drinks. Basta yung mainit sa tiyan. Please, waiter."
I got off the bed and went to the small kitchen. Buti na lang at matakaw si Trevor kaya pinuno niya ng mga pagkain itong dalawang yate bago namin dinukot si Katheryne noon.

That night she turned the TV on and tried to find a channel. May ilang stations naman na nakakasagap ng signal so she looked for an interesting channel. Nakakita siya ng English movie at yun ang pinanood.
"Ryder, tabi tayo dito sa kama. Hindi ako sanay manood ng movies na walang kasama eh," she said while crouching against the headrest of the bed. Nakabalot pa rin siya ng comforter hanggang leeg kahit na may heater naman na.
Umupo naman ako sa tabi niya at sumandal sa headrest. "Do you want some chips?"
"Nope. Ayaw ni Mommy na kumakain kami ng junk foods," sagot niya habang tutok na tutok ang mga mata sa TV.
Sinubukan kong manood pero di naman ako interested sa ganoong klase ng mga movies na romance kaya di ko namalayan na nakatulog na pala ako. Nagising na lang ako nang bigla niya akong hinampas sa braso. "What?!"
"Wag mo 'kong tulugan, Ryder. Manood ka rin."
"Hindi ko naman gusto yang pinapanood mo so why don't you just let me sleep?"
She slapped my arm again. "Hindi mo gusto kasi nga ayaw mong panoorin kaya pa'no mo malalaman na maganda yung story para magustuhan mo?"
Pinilit kong gisingin yung sarili ko kahit napipikit talaga ako. Then my eyes opened when I heard her crying. Napatingin ako sa TV screen at nakita kong nag-aaway yung lalaki at babaeng characters habang umiiyak yung babae. Nagulat pa ako nang ipulupot niya sa braso ko yung mga kamay niya at humilig sa katawan ko.
"Bakit ako lang yung umiiyak? Dapat umiyak ka rin kasi nakakaiyak yung scene oh!"
What the fūck is this crazy girl talking about? Dahil lang umiiyak siya sa isang movie, gusto niya umiyak rin ako?
"Hindi ako umiiyak."
"Weh? May tao bang di umiiyak?"
"Ako."
"Ssssssh! Wag kang maingay! Di ko maintindihan yung sinasabi sa movie."
Baliw nga yata 'to. Siya kaya yung kumakausap sa akin eh.
Pumikit ako at hindi ko namalayan na talagang nakatulog na ako. Nagising lang ako nang tinawag niya yung pangalan ko. That was when I realized that my head was already leaning on her shoulder and the TV in front of us was already turned off.
"Sarap ng tulog mo ah. Ginawa mo pang unan yung balikat ko. Very comfy ba?"
I lifted my head up from her shoulder. "Sorry—"
"Uuuuuy, nagso-sorry na si big bad Ryder ngayon," she teased.
"Shūt up. Matulog ka na."
Tinitigan niya ako nang seryoso habang nakakapit pa rin sa braso ko. "Ryder, thank you sa pag-aasikaso mo sa 'kin ha? Thank you rin sa pakikinig mo sa 'kin sa mga kwento ko. Hindi ko nga alam kung nakikinig ka ba talaga or you're just pretending to be listening kasi hindi mo naman kilala yung pamilya ko kaya di ka makaka-relate sa sinasabi ko sa 'yo. But I want you to know that it meant a lot to me kasi kung di mo siguro ako kinakausap, kung katulad ka pa rin nung dati, siguro nabaliw na talaga ako rito sa lungkot at sa inip. Kaya thank you talaga."
Ako naman yung napatitig sa kanya and I could see the seriousness and sincerity on her expression and in her eyes. I felt a weird tug inside my chest again.
Noon natataranta ako kapag nakakaramdam ako ng kakaiba kapag magkasama kami. Now having her always near me made me feel more relaxed. Mas hindi na ako sanay kapag hindi ko siya katabi o kapag nawawala siya sa paningin ko. I always wanted to be with her and I was already feeling comfortable with her presence.
"Princess."
"Hmmm?"
I stared straight in her eyes and moved my face closer to her. "Push me if you can't handle what I'm going to do to you because, princess, I really want to kiss you right now." I held the back of her head then closed my eyes before I closed the gap between our faces and began giving her lips in a slow feathery kiss.
