3rd person's
at any point this morning, mark would actually wake up early in the morning although it's weekend, saturday to be exact. but surprisingly, he didn't, probably because of thesis happening already within just a month after school started. indeed it's been a month since his enter of grade 12 in their school. and as a student who wanted to take engineering in college, it's been already stressing for mark and so as his groupmates, koeun being one of them.
"hey, pst! oh come on, i thought you're gonna wake up early?!" haechan has been whining for a few minutes since mark opened his eyes but did not actually move yet. all could haechan do is to scratch his head and facepalm due to the actions of his human.
they knew it's been 11 months since haechan appeared in mark's bedroom, or at least haechan knew for now. "hey." haechan started. "only 1 month left before i'll be officially gone." he murmured, that's where mark immediately sat on his bed and slapped himself in his mind to wake himself up.
hey almost, well, he did forgot about it. knowing he was really enjoying haechan's presence by his side and waking him up every morning, he's used to it, and he really liked it. mark sighed as he looked towards haechan's eyes. "i know, and i don't want that to happen." he said to haechan, which haechan's heart felt touched by the wise words of his human.
"i feel the same way, i still wanted to hang out with you." haechan murmured as he looked away from mark's eyes and blush, making the atmosphere really awkward. and finally mark decided to get out of bed, he took a quick shower and dressed up in his casual clothes, haechan being confused.
"i wish for you to be visible for today." without hesitations, mark said those words. haechan still doesn't know what in the world was going on with his human, but with all respect, he decided to grant his wish anyway. he snapped his fingers and immediately turned visible, mark then opened his cabinet and search for some clothes.
"mark what are we—" before haechan could finish his sentence, a bunch of clothes were thrown to his face, he catched it anyway. "what the hell mark what's—"
"go change your clothes, we have a lot of places to go." mark said without even turning to haechan, well, he did, but only to open the door and actually went downstairs. with all the happenings, haechan was just standing there dumbfounded. he stared at the clothes for a moment before he surprisingly took a shower and dressed up with mark's casual clothes.
he went downstairs, which he caught at the kitchen is absolutely terrible. chenle and renjun was arguing with their breakfast, not ever realizing the boil is highly boiling. he facepalmed himself, definitely weirded him out because he felt the actual pain of the slap. he ran into the kitchen, seeing the 2 boys fighting.
"w- what's going on?" he asked, chenle glared at him and then pointed at renjun.
"he said he'll cook but taeil hyung was the one who asked me!" chenle whined like a baby, at first haechan wondered why jisung isn't still there. then he looked at the clock, now it made more sense.
"but you can't even cook hotdogs properly!" renjun insisted, "so i'll do it."
"no! i can learn it myself, hyung!"
the argument continues, at this point, haechan didn't really know what to do. good thing mark went up to the both of them and stopped their argument, forgeting to turn off the boiling pot, it starts to burst out of the pot that means it's falling to the fire. haechan then immediately turn it off before the dorm would set fire.
after some talking, mark told the kids that they would have a bond for today. haechan not knowing about anything since it's been a few months since he turned into a human, he was holding mark's arm as if he's going to be lost at any moment.
"i should've taken you to the movies." mark murmured.
"what's a movie?" haechan innocently asks, making mark chuckled a little bit and continues to walk.
"it's like watching a tv show but an hour long." mark explained, haechan just nodded. haechan was still curious of why would mark wish this kind of wish when he could think of so many things he could wish for today, but then he just decided to follow his human anyway to who knows where they'll be going.
after a long time of walking, mark spoke. "here we are." he then looked at haechan who is probably tired since he's not used to this kind of walking, specially when it's like 45 minutes long and away, haechan was catching his breath. mark thought he was overreacting but he still couldn't help but to smile.
"why are you laughing?!" haechan asked while catching his breath, mark shook his head and they started to continue walking until they reach the arcade. there are tons of people, but not that many, you could still move anytime freely. they went inside and mark bought some tokens, immediately turning to haechan who was suddenly gone.
where the hell did that asshole went?! he thought as he panicked, he didn't realize that haechan let go of his arms and went to wherever he went for.
he looked everywhere and even circled for probably more than 3 times, only to find out that he was in the claw machine, staring at something. to be specific, he saw a genie plushie and he wanted to get it. mark facepalmed and walk towards haechan.
"i could've lost you! next time stick with me, specially when this is the situation." mark warned haechan, which he just nodded and smiled. he then started pointing at the genie plushie inside the claw machine, saying he wanted to get that. at first mark tried to ignore it and told him it's impossible to get, but haechan resisted and said he'll get it himself.
they started to put the token, now haechan realize he doesn't know how to play it so he immediately looked at mark. he made a shy smiled, which made mark's eyes rolled but he found it cute. he told haechan to step aside and get the plushie inside, and surprisingly, they did.
haechan jumped up and down and hugged mark tightly, which made things awkward considering they're in public, but mark wouldn't mind, at least for now.
they went next to a playing station, which haechan was interested too. he watched mark as he battles and press the buttons and move the joystick to where it has to be, after he was finished, he looked to his screen, it only had a demo.
"mark, can you teach me?" haechan fake pouted, hoping he'd say yes. mark's eyes rolled, which made him nervous. sooner after he lean over to haechan to teach him how to play a fighting game, his hands are over haechan's, teaching him how to do it. but the only thing haechan did was to stare at his face, that is resting on his left shoulder.
he wasn't even paying attention to what mark was saying for the past minutes, "hey, are you listening?" he just heard the sudden voice of mark, but he did not care, he continued to stared anyway. slowly, mark looked back at haechan, realizing their face was really close to each other. but no one insisted, and continue to look. they felt their heart beating faster and their hands shake, face felt hot and probably blushing. haechan smiled, mark did the same, and he let go of everything.
"are you hungry?" he asked, haechan think first before he nodded. they stood and started walking out of the arcade and went to a starbucks coffee. as haechan opens the door, there were a lot of people, technically those who are rich and can afford those beverages. they found a place to seat, after they did mark told haechan to wait while he was taking their orders.
haechan looked surroundings, it's been a while since people could see him, of course he's still not used to it. it seemed like some people were staring at haechan and they were weirded out, it felt like he's just that person that overreacts to everything when it's your first time visiting. it made him worried, so he chose to just looked at their table while waiting for mark to come back.
later then, a tray was placed in front of him, he looked what it was, there's 2 beverages and 2 of what people called doughnut. he was about to get that on drink when mark took it, he glared to his human. "why did you steal that? i was about to get it!" he whined, which made mark chuckled for a bit.
"it has names on it, chan." he said as he pointed on haechan's drink, haechan was shock of that, he never knew it would be like those. he then took his drink and look to where his name was written, and it said "donghyuck".
"why did you put donghyuck?" he asked, mark sip his drink before putting it down and speak.
"i guess it would be best if i'd name you donghyuck in your human form." he answered with a smile, haechan smiled as well, trying not to blush, and nodded.
and after spending time eat and drinking, mark told haechan that they'll go somewhere probably afar from their dorm and their school. at this point, it was afternoon and the sun is setting.
"we're here." mark said, haechan looked confused.
"but it's just the ocean." he pointed.
"exactly." mark smiled before grabbing haechan's arm and ran towards the shore, haechan was surprised so his running to all the way there was no fun for him. mark told him to sit down on the sand and watch the sun set, haechan felt tired, so he sighed heavily, which mark noticed.
"you're getting tired?" he asked, haechan shyly nod. and the next thing he did, he puts haechan's head on his shoulders, making haechan's eyes wide and heartbeat fast. then he felt mark's hand on his shoulder, he couldn't breathe properly. and to be honest with that, mark felt the same as well.
as the sun sets and the stars in the sky starts to shine, haechan looked at the sky, admiring everything that's beautiful in his surroundings. while mark was staring at haechan's eyes, he couldn't help but to feel nervous or whatever he's feeling now.
"hey mark, did you looked at the stars?" haechan asked as he was stilling looking at it, mark smiled and melted his own heart.
"yeah, i am."
haechan then realize that mark was actually looking at him, which made him look too. they stared at each other's eyes, not knowing what to do next. but they both knew their heart is increasing it's beat, it felt like they're gonna be out of air soon. the next thing happened, mark looked away and chuckled, haechan raised his eyebrow.
"was there something on my face?" he asked.
"yeah, there is." mark lied, or did he?
"really? where is it?" haechan asked as he touch his face, mark grabbed his hand, holds them tightly and puts it down to their laps.
"over here."
mark starts leaning forward and pressed his lips on haechan's, making haechan widen his eyes. slowly he starts to close his eyes, his heartbeat is increasing like it's about to explode. he felt mark's hands intertwined with his, he was confused of what just happened, but he liked it.
they slowly separate from the kiss, both stared at each other. mark was smiling, but haechan had a confused look with a red face and still feeling the heat of his face.
"w— why did you kissed me?" haechan stutters as he ask mark, he looked at their hands, still intertwined, "and why are y— you holding my hand?"
"i've been hiding this feeling, haechan." mark said, "i— i knew that it would be impossible for something like this to happen, but i—. . .i wanted to spend my time with you every damn second of my life." mark bowed his head and stares at his lap.
"it's crazy to think about it, but i think i'm in love with you."
haechan felt his heart melting with all those words, speechless at this moment. he grab mark's chin and lift his face in order for him to stare at each other again, mark was nervous, he didn't planned anything for this confession, but he chose to admit it since it's been so many months that he felt like it.
"m— mark, i. . ." haechan remained silent, still speechless.
"hey i'm sorry this ruined our date, but i just wanna let you know that i really love you so much."
"n— no it's fi— wait a minute, what do you mean our date?"
"well, don't you consider this our date?" mark smirked, haechan rolled his eyes with a smile.
"why not anyway." he answered, the both of them just laugh it off, then a sudden scream from not a far got their attention but didn't knew where it came from.
"what was that?" mark asked, haechan shrug his shoulders and starts patting mark's back.
"you know, i've been thinking of it if i should tell you or not." haechan spoke. "but since this moment actually happened i'm gonna say it to you anyway."
"what is it?"
as haechan's payback, he gave a peck on mark's lips.
"i love you too."
