"It's time, Jungkook. It's either you or me." King Jeon spoke as he looked outside of the balcony while Jungkook stood behind him.
"Can't we find another way?" He looked up at his father with worry and guilt in his eyes.
"They are reasons as to why we are here. You don't expect me to just let it go, do you Jungkook?
I'm putting all my trust in you and if you dare to go against me, I will make sure to make yours and a Yeona's life a living hell." He glared at his son and walked inside the room, grabbing the same sword he previously showed him.
The king handed him the sword and nodded, signaling him that it was finally time.
Meanwhile...
Yeona was fast asleep and had gone in dreamland when a loud crash was heard outside of her room.
She immediately shot up and looked around the dimly lit room, squinting her eyes.
A guard barged into her room and rushed to her full with worry "princess, we must get out of here! We are under attack!" He quickly spilled and looked into her closet, grabbing a blanket and pulling her arm to run to the door.
"Under attack!? By who? Where are my parents? Is everyone alright?" She panicked and followed the guard outside of the back door of the castle.
"I do not have that information yet, Princess. But I'm sure they're fine." He looked around, making sure no one was there to follow them.
Without anymore questions, they made it outside of the castle but what Yeona saw was something that was impossible to forget.
The person she loves, with a sword in his hand, which was threatening her father.
Jungkook was back. But he was not back for her. He was back to destroy her even more than he already did.
"Jungkook! What are you doing?!" Yeona yelled, anger and confusion rising up in her body.
Jungkook turned his gaze towards her but never let the sword leave King Lee's body.
"I'm sorry." He whispered and shut his eyes, as his sword sliced through the kings neck.
Yeona tried running towards him but the guard held her back, trying to get her out of the territory of the kingdom safely.
As she was being dragged away, Jungkook turned the other way, a tear making its way down his cheek as he knew that he had lost the love of his life.
"I will come back for you, Jungkook! I will make you pay!" Yeona yelled, trying to break out of the guards grip hopelessly.
The whole place was burning down.
Yells for help were all he could hear.
And the Jeon family watched and smiled in victory, knowing that the Lee's were out of the way, and that they could dominate the empire.
• A Few Days Later •
Jungkook was back on the ship which was given to him by his father.
As for his parents? They now were the new rulers of the empire of Atharid.
King and queen Lee did make his parents and kingdom suffer. They attacked his kingdom, and then pretended to be their friends only to kill them in the near future. But the Jeons knew better and took action beforehand, which resulted in getting evicted from the castle.
But they came back for revenge. Now they rule the kingdom, while Jungkook couldn't deal with any of it, and left his family to become a free man.
To become a pirate.
• Present •
Taehyung chuckled as he remembered and told the whole story in details. He was there but he was also invisible to everyone.
Jungkook kept his head, recalling his actions and regretting all of them.
Yeona shut her eyes and cover her ears. She couldn't nor did she want to listen any further.
"Tell me it isn't true. Please tell me it isn't true!" She grabbed Jungkook's collar, tears upon tears dropping from her eyes.
"Please... it's just a lie... right?" She rested her forehead on his chest, crying her heart out as she realized that she lived in a lie.
She believed her parents were good people. Who helped others, not destroyed them. She believed that her parents were fair and kind.
But that was just another lie.
Jungkook wrapped his arms around her "I'm sorry." He whispered in her ear, repeating it over and over again.
Prince Taehyung coughed, interrupting the both of them.
"Now that you know the truth, I am afraid I have to cut your little love scene and tell you what I want for my payment." He smirked mischievously.
Yeona let go of Jungkook and wiped away her tears, looking up at Taehyung, signaling him to continue.
"Yeona, what do you say we rule this poor kingdom together?
I'll be your king, and you'll be my queen." His smirk got wider as he looked directly into her eyes.
"W-what do you mean?" She glared at him.
"Marry me and we will rule this kingdom,
Together."
