Kaneki's POV
"Welcome to Anteiku!", I greeted the customer.
"A cup of latte, please.", the customer said.
As time moves on, I really enjoyed my time working at Anteiku. Although I'm still can't remember anything, but this place felt like home to me.
"Stop daydreaming Kaneki-kun, bring this latte to that customer.", Koma said.
"Oh I'm sorry.", I said.
"Emm...Koma-san, where's Touka-chan?", I asked Koma.
"She went to the library with her friend.", he replied.
"Okay....."
--Night time--
Anteiku closed as the last customer leave the store.
"Today is so tiring!", I said as I put my head on the counter.
"Get some rest, Kaneki-kun. Tomorrow maybe busy as well.", Irimi said.
"We're leaving, take care the rest okay?", Koma said.
"Yes I will. Bye.", I said.
"Bye, Kaneki-kun.", they both said.
I went back to my room to change into my casual outfit. I grabbed the textbook that Touka left in my room and went out to the cafe.
I brought in the sign, looked at the empty street. I sighed then walked back to the cafe.
"It's already late...why she's not return.", I mumbled.
I started to read the literature textbook, slowly sipping my coffee. But I can't concentrate, my mind just kept thinking about her safety.
"Why I'm thinking about this? She obviously can protect herself.... *sigh*", I mumbled.
As hours past, I finished my coffee and the textbook. I washed the cup and put it back to where it belong.
I sat down, stared at the window and suddenly......
Bang!
Someone opened the door and I noticed is Touka.
"You're finally ba....WHAT HAPPEN TO YOU!", I was shocked to see her body is covered in blood, she's badly injured.
I ran towards her as she fell into my arms. Her face was pale and her body was weak.
"TALK TO ME! WHAT HAPPEN?", I yelled.
"Doves.....I couldn't escape fast enough....but they're dead anyways....", she weakly said.
"Stay put, I'm going to get some bandages.", I put her down gently and went to find the first aid kit.
She sat leaned against the wall, groaned in pain, her hand just kept pressed against her wound.
"I'm going to put bandages to your wound, so.......can you...?", I said as she removed her hand from her wound.
"Oh crap....your wound is not healing...when is the last time you eat?", I said.
"About a weeks ago.....I'm going to eat something....", she said as she tried to get up but failed because of the pain.
"You can't go out in this condition!", I said. "*sigh* Fine.....eat this."
I rolled up my sleeves, exposed my arm to her
"Huh.....?", she confusingly looked at me.
"I said eat my arm. Don't worry, I'll heal.", I said.
"Kaneki.....you don't have to.....", she weakly said.
"If you don't eat, you won't heal.", I said.
"Well.....sorry then...", she grabbed my arm and ripped a chunk of my meat.
My arm immediately heal as flesh and muscle merge back together like nothing happened. I had a sign of relief as I noticed her wound started to heal.
"Thanks for the treat, Kaneki.", she weakly said.
I lifted her shirt up, wrapping bandages around her abdomen area to prevent the wound from opened again.
She staggering to get up, I walked towards her and picked her up in bridal style and walked upstairs towards her room.
"Hey....what are you doing....", she said.
I remained silence and she seems to understand something and slowly wrapped her arm around my neck.
"Wait, don't put me on the bed yet. I don't want blood stains on my bed.", she said as I entered her room.
"Okay...I'll make coffee for you...get yourself change....", I said before I leave her room.
I entered her room with a cup of coffee, she had already changed into her pajamas with a cartoon rabbit picture.
I smirked as I passed the coffee to her. She kicked me at the feet and said "What so funny about?"
"Nothing, looks like you really like rabbit...", I said.
"Yeah....", she said.
"Well....I'll go out to clean the cafe, your blood is everywhere. Enjoy your coffee.", I chuckled.
I leave her room, grabbed a bucket of water and a mop, started mopping away the dirt and blood in the cafe. I stretched my body after completed mopping. I closed all the lights and went upstairs.
"Whether she's asleep or not?", I mumbled.
I went to her room, gently opened the door and realized she's already asleep. I smiled at her, took the cup and leave her room but suddenly something grabbed my shirt from behind.
I looked back and saw Touka is pulling my shirt.
"Can you company me for a while....?", she asked with her eyes opened slightly.
"Yes....I will.", I replied.
I put the cup aside, grabbed a stool and sat along her bedside as she slowly sat up on her bed.
"Feeling better now?", I asked.
"Yes....thank you...Kaneki...", she replied.
We both went silence, stared at each other faces, doing nothing. Her face, her purple-ish eyes, just kept attracting me.
"What you're staring at.", she jokingly said.
"You're so beautiful.....", I mumbled and I started to blush unconsciously.
"Wha...."
She couldn't finished her sentence as I'm already crashed my lips against hers. She widened her eyes in shocked. She pushed me away and she slapped my face.
"Emm...I'm sorry.....Touka-chan....", I said as I rubbed my reddened cheek and stared at her death glare.
"*sigh*....Kaneki...."
"Mmm...?"
"I'm the one should give you this....", she said as I looked at her in confusion.
She pulled my shirt and our faces are just inches away. She closing in and our lips met together. We closed our eyes and continued our little moment. We soon parted, not dare to stare at each other eyes and both of us blushing deeply.
"So....when....?", I asked.
"A month ago.....I guess....", she said, blushing uncontrollably. I put my hand on her shoulder, pulled her into a hug.
"I'll never leave you alone......", I whispered at her ear.
"You better promise that..... bakaneki....", she said.
"I will.", I said as I lifted her bangs aside and noticed there's a little scar under her right eye.
"Don't do it....I'm ugly...", she said as she pushed my hand away. I grabbed her hand and continued to brush her bangs aside, revealed her entire face.
"No...you're not...you're beautiful.", I gently said as I rested my forehead on hers
"Oh...really....thanks.", she said as I gently pulled her for another kiss.
"It's already late, get some rest okay?", I said.
"Mmm...Okay...", she said with a smile across her face.
She lied down, I covered the blanket over her body, I gave a kiss on her forehead and watched her slowly drifting into her dreams. I sat at her bedside, just quietly looked at her.
Then I thought, "This is a dream come true for me."
