-PILAR AND DEVANTE'S HOUSE-
Shaunte: (placing flowers on the living room table) so today is the big day! your baby shower!
Pilar: yeah, i know! ive been waiting for this day. (walks with a limp, but with no walker or cane).
Shaunte: so when is De coming home?
Pilar: theyre on the way back from the tour. they should be back in an hour. Andre came home already?
Shaunte: yeah! yesterday! his mom had went to the hospital so he left the tour early.
-Malina walks in with the baby and Suge.-
Pilar: hey!!
-They all hug! and for some reason, Marianna is crying.-
Pilar: why is she crying?
Suge: shes hungry.
Malina: i have her bottle. ( sits on the sofa and feeds her).
Suge: im gonna go use the bathroom. (leaves).
Malina: so, have you talked to De yet?
Pilar: no, well jus not about "that".
Malina: he's gonna notice when he gets here.
Pilar: you can tell?
Malina: yes!
Shaunte: well i wasnt gonna say anything, but...
Pilar: ugh!!! i dont want to talk about it. not with him or anybody else. especially mom!
Shaunte: okay, but you're not going to be able to avoid this convo with him down the road.
Pilar: i know.
---3 HOURS LATER (BABY SHOWER HAS STARTED)---
Devante: okay everyone! (stands in the living room) i would like to thank everyone for coming! we were supposed to have this event months ago, but the twins had to come early. my wife and i are so lucky to have yall as friends and family! so please enjoy yall selves!
-Pilar holds DJ as Devante holds Camilla, showing them around to family and friends that havent seen them yet.-
Phyllis: i like your dress!
Pilar: thank you! its so shiny!
Phyllis: and gold! (smiles)
---LATER THAT NIGHT (PARTY IS OVER)---
-Pilar walks into the bedroom, only to find Devante laying in the bed, watching TV.-
Pilar: hey!
Devante: so did you enjoy yourself today?
Pilar: i did! im so glad we decided to throw this party.
-Pilar takes her dress of, leaving her in only her underwear and bra. But Devante looks at her kind of strangely.-
Devante: so how far along are you?
Pilar: (turns around) what?
Devante: when is the baby due?
Pilar: what baby?
Devante: you are obviously pregnant. your stomach is round and your face is getting to be chubby. plus, your feet are swollen.
Pilar: wow.
Devante: come here and sit next to me.
Pilar: (sits next to him) im sorry that i didnt tell you.
Devante: i know that we didnt want another baby for a few more years. but if we have created another life, im not gonna be mad. you know, i was watching you all day. and i could jus tell that you were carrying another life inside of you. the way you walked, and how you would get queasy when you would smell the deviled eggs. i just knew. and when i came in this morning, the shirt that you were wearing, i could see your belly. and you thought that maternity dress wasnt gonna blow your cover? (laughs) everybody knows that youre pregnant.
Pilar: wow! i thought i was slick. (giggles)
Devante: your belly is big, baby. how far along are you though?
Pilar: one month. im due in December.
Devante: how in the hell are you so big at one month?
Pilar: ive been eating a lot!
Devante: bruh! youre hug! i cant believe you thought that you could hide that. but, im happy. i really am. and i know that you still plan on going on tour, so all i ask is that while you practice for the tour, that you need to be safe and do not do the absolute most!
Pilar: i got you! but after this baby, im getting my tubes tied! for sure!
Devante: im not even mad at ya!
Pilar: but, babe. everybody knew?
Devante: your mom told me that she was excited to have another grandchild. (laughs) she mustve thought that you had told me about the baby. but yeah! everybody kept on talking about your stomach behind your back. they didnt know if they should congratulate you are give you a list of diets to try.
Pilar: im just scared to let the whole world know about the baby. like, something could go wrong with the pregnancy. and with my heart problem. i could die giving birth.
Devante: we're not gonna worry about that right now. what im trying to do is re-create the conception. (smirks).
-They celebrate the pregnancy by making love all night long.-
