**later that day after school**
Hayes's POV:
I was walking home from school when chandler came up to me,
"Hey, I need to tell you something, can we talk?" He asked me,
I wasn't quite sure what he wanted to talk about, I barely even knew the guy before.
"So what's up?" I asked,
"Well.. Uh.. Haley kissed me"
I wave of emotion punched be in the stomach,
I felt my eyes get filled with anger. But I don't know how I'm angry at, chandler or Haley.
Was he even telling the truth?
"Are you lying?" I asked, I wanted to punch him but I'm managed to keep my anger at a low level.
"No.. Even ask her yourself" and with that, chandler walked away from me.
I wanted to run, I wanted to get my anger out.
But I actually felt broken inside. I know ill move on, it's easy to let go, I wasn't mad that she would want someone else as her boyfriend
But it hurt.
It made me feel as if I wasn't good enough,
It makes me feel as if I won't ever be good enough,
I felt tears start to pierce my eyes, I just wanted to hide.
I needed someone to talk to,
So I called Althea, as I ran home. My legs were exhausted I didn't care. I had the biggest football game tomorrow, I knew I had to forget Haley and all her constant bullshit.
I just needed my best friend right now,
Althea's POV:
I was sitting at home when my phone went off, I say it was Hayes, normally he would text me, so I was suspicious to what was up.
"Althea..?" He said, his voice was raspy as ever. As if he'd been crying.
"Yes Hayes? Are you okay?"
"Can you come over?.. Please.."
A huge wave of guilt passed hit my stomach as my Breath got caught in my throat,
"I'll be right there hayes" I said as I hung up.
He found out,
He was broken,
He was unfocused,
This was what I was trying to avoid and guess I couldn't do it.
About Haley... About chandler.
Another guilt wave passed me as I realized I kept that secret about Haley and chandler from hayes.
I got my jacket on and some shoes and ran to hayes's house.
I rung the doorbell and Nash opened the door,
"Hey Althea, what are you doing here?" Nash asked as he stepped aside to let me in.
"Is Hayes here?" I asked, my voice sounded all worried.
"Yeah he's upstairs go ahead, but what's wron-"
"Thanks Nash! Ill tell you later" I said as I dashed up the stairs,
I took a deep breathe, and counting to 3.. Just like at The Christmas party ..
When I saw Haley and Hayes..
I brushed that memory off my shoulders,
It was over with,
It's in the past.
Just like Haley and Hayes.
I opened the door, and the memory of haley and Hayes kissing flashed into my mind. But this time,
All I saw was Hayes,
His eyes were bloodshot red from crying, and he had the saddest look on his face
He tried smiling at me, but he couldn't.
At that moment I didn't know what to do,
To either tell him "I told you so" or to run up to him and kiss him.
Both ways sounded fine to me
