Here is a thank you, 30K! Now I have had many requests to continue this story, which I did in the sequel (go read it!)
However, in that story I skip a bunch of years so if you liked THIS story and the way I write, I'm in the process of writing my own book, and you may find it somewhat similar to this one. IT IS NOT FANFICTION, IT'S FLORENCE-FICTION. I take full credit for this story.

Arthur had been healthy. And not in the way that he ate an apple a day to keep the doctor away, but in the way that he wasn't ill often, nor allergic to anything, nor did he have any type of hay fever. So when he heard that he was dying, it came as quite a shock.
No, he wasn't sitting in the doctor's office with his dad at his side listening to the doctor's talk on what kind of disease he was having. He found himself in a gigantic tree.
