Eria's pov
I sigh practically dragging Po to the bunkhouse, which sits high on the hill. I stop and breathe heavily, my ears perk up at the sound of footsteps coming towards us. I drag Po behind a giant rock
"There's no words" I hear Mantis say loudly in a sigh
"No denying that" Crane agrees
"I don't understand what Master Oogway was thinking. The poor guys are just gonna get himself killed" Viper says sadly, I look at Po and see his sad face
"They're so mighty! The Dragon Warriors fell out of the sky on a ball of fire" Crane mocks in fake amazement
"When he walks, the very ground shakes!" Mantis says in amusement, I growl not seeing the reason of teasing Po
"One would think that Master Oogway would choose someone who actually knew Kung Fu" Tigress says angrily. My face drops along with my ears 'they've never even seen my moves yet' I think sadly
"Yeah, or even dodge simple things...or could at least touch his toes." Crane says, successfully annoying me 'I could've dodged them' I thought angrily
"Or even see his toes" Mantis says, my face scrunched up knowing Po won't even bring this up. Tears parade down my face freely. I glare in their direction as they walk away laughing. I get out from behind the rock snarling quietly. I see Po attempt to look at his toes but just sees his gut. He lifts up his stomach, leans forward sticking his tongue out in concentration. He leans forward more and falls over. I lift him up
"Come on Po, we'll show them" I growl lifting his arm over my shoulder rested enough to walk up the stairs
Timeskip
Po peeks around the corner with me, I look at him and he nods at me
"Okay" Po says confirming nobody was around. We tip-toe into the hall. The floorboard squeak loudly beneath him, while the boards are silent beneath me. Po looks at me as I look at him
"Great" Po and I mumble at the same time Po tries to take a gentle step but his foot goes through the floor. He quickly gets out from the hole and pushes the wood into it. I huff as Po continues 'sneaking' with squeaks following his every step. Po trips over his own feet and stumbles through a bedroom door. I run in worried and see Crane looking at me sleepily
"Oh hey...hi. You're up" Po says nervously, Crane wipes his eyes
"Am now." Crane says with fake enthusiasm
"I was just uh... Some day huh?That kung fu stuff is hard work, right? Your biceps sore?" Po asks rubbing his arm. Crane looks at his wing in confusion
"Um...I've had a long and rather disappointing day, so uh...yeah, I should probably get to sleep now" Crane says trying to get Po to leave nicely. I take the hint and grab Po's arm and lightly tug on it
"Yeah we should let Crane to sleep don't you think Po?" I ask smiling at him when he looked at me but glaring at Crane when he looked away
"Yeah yeah yeah, of course" Po says giving Crane a thumbs up and turning to leave
"Okay, thanks" Crane says relieved that Po won't 'annoy' him anymore, but I knew Po would do something
"It's just...I'm such a big fan" Po says turning back around startling a noise out of Crane "You guys were totally amazing at the Battle of Weeping River. Outnumbered a thousand to one, but you didn't stop, and then you just..." Po does a weird series of Kung Fu moves with strange sound effects. I watch as Po kicks a hole in the wall and snicker quietly as Po apologises to monkey on the other side. Crane scratches his neck awkwardly
"Look, you don't belong here" he says, I glare coldly at him and look up at Po, he looks stunned to be hearing Crane say that
"I know. I know. You're right" Po says sadly, Crane looks at him confused but his eyes widen in realisation and I stop glaring at him understanding what he meant "I just - my whole life I've dreamed of-" Crane cuts off Po before he puts himself down even more.
"No no no... I meant you don't belong here. I mean, in this room. This is my room" he says gesturing to the room with his wings "Property of Crane" he says patting the ground. Po laughs it off quickly
"Oh, okay. Right right. Yeah, you want to get to sleep" Po says 'casually'
"Yeah" Crane says quietly
"We're keepin' you up. We got big things tomorrow. Alright" he says pushing the door open "You're awesome. Last thing I'm gonna say. Okay. Bye bye." Po shuts the door, and I hear Crane sigh. Po pushes the door open excitedly
"What was that?" Po asked thinking Crane said something to him
"I didn't say anything" Crane said obviously tired
"Okay. Alright. Goodnight. Sleep well" Po said shutting the door once again
"Seemed a little bit awkward" Po says to himself thoughtfully, I nod and motion him to keep going. Po nods confused. I knock on the floor near Crane's door, I hear a sigh
"Come in" Crane says annoyed
"Sorry for interrupting but I just wanted to say..." breathe in "thank you" I say quietly. Crane looks at me confused "thanks for not being harsh, I know he can be a bit much sometimes, but he's my brother so I'm used to him but I know not everyone is... so thanks for not being mean to him. You're one of his heroes and he doesn't take things lightly" I say giving him a smile, he nods quickly and I walk away "night Crane" I say with a wave
"Night Eria" Crane said behind me. I follow the sound of creaks and quickly catch up to Po. Po turns and walks down the hall to find a vacant room with me following. I hear someone open a door behind us and wince. We turn around to see...
"Master Tigress! We didn't mean to wake you. Just uh..."
"Yeah we didn't mean to wake you... it was just an added bonus" I snickered quietly
"You two don't belong here" she states, I roll my eyes
"Uh, yeah, yeah. Of course. This is your room" Po says hopefully, Tigress glares
"I mean-" she starts but I cut her off quickly
"We're not in her room Po, she means we don't belong in the Jade Palace" I say returning the glare she's shooting at us
"You're both a disgrace to Kung Fu, and if you have any respect for who we are and what we do, you will be gone by morning" she says closing the door on us. Po sadly slumps.
"Big fan!" Po calls through the door, Po started to walk the opposite way of the vacant room
"Where are you going?" I ask sadly
"For a walk" he says not looking back at me, I sigh and pounce on his back
"Fine but you're not going without me!" I say triumphantly. Po sighs but doesn't protest
Timeskip
Po stands under a peach tree with me on his back picking peaches for him to eat, while we're under the magnificent sky silently.
"I see you two have found the Sacred Peach Tree of Heavenly Wisdom" comes a voice making me scream and fall off Po's back taking a few patches with me, I open my eyes to see an upside down Oogway. Po spins around, his face covered with peach juice.
"Is that what this is? I am so sorry. I thought it was just a regular peach tree" Po says with his mouth full and a peach plops its way out of his mouth landing on me
"Ewwww" I say smacking it off my chest
"I understand. You eat when you are upset" Oogway says nodding his head. I stand up and brush myself off
"Upset? I'm not upset. What makes you think I'm upset?" Po says in a rush trying to deny the accusation
"So why are you upset?" Oogway asks ignoring Po. Po sighs, realising there's no use trying to lie to Oogway.
"I probably sucked more today than anyone in the history of kung fu in the history of China, in the history of sucking" Po exclaims, I scoff and hit his arm lightly
"Probably" Oogway agrees, I look at him confused
"And the Five... man, you should have seen them, they totally hate me" Po says holding his head sadly
"Totally" Oogway says, I shake my head in amusement
"How's Shifu ever going to turn me into the Dragon Warrior? I mean, I'm not like The Five. I've got no claws, no wings, no venom. Even Mantis has those...
...thingies." He says imitating Mantis's legs "Maybe I should just quit and go back to making noodles" Po says in defeat, I look up at him in disbelief
"Quit, don't quit. Noodles, don't noodles" Oogway says casually, Po looks at him confused and I just wait for the punchline
"You are too concerned with what was and what will be. There is a saying: Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present" Oogway hits the tree with his staff and as he walks away and a peach falls into Po and I's open hand. I look down at it and take a bite in awe
