The doctors looked up through the glass at the gang, with their faces pressed against the glass looking in. No one was allowed in, not even Spike. Buffy had been rushed to hospital, the baby had been delivered but Buffy had not woken up. The baby had been washed and was placed into one of the glass cots, the poor baby couldn't even be held by its own mother. Spike watched the little baby outside the window tears pouring down his face like a water fall. He wasn't allowed to hold the baby before the mother. The baby won't even hear my heart beat how will it know it is safe? Spike thought to himself. Buffy was hooked up to about three machines all working as fast as they could. Sometimes Spike swore he could see Buffy flinch or a finger move.
'I can't believe this' Spike finally said quietly sitting down into one of the chairs in the waiting room. Tears still falling down his face.
'I told you magic was bad!' He yelled, some people turned and awkwardly looked at Spike.
'I didn't know' Willow mumbled
'Well you should of, tried something... I... I don't know!' Spike replied stuttering trying to hold back tears and stop them from dripping off his face. One of the doctors walked out of Buffy's room, he looked at his clip board and asked
'Er is their a William Pratt here?'
'Yes!' Spike replied jumping off the chair.
'I'm sorry you're?' The doctor asked confused about his relation with Buffy.
'Oh I am um Buffy's boyfriend' Spike stuttered
'Oh I see, well I have some bad news' The doctor started, Spike's eyes forming a fresh layer of tears ready to bubble over
'We don't think... Buffy will make it' The doctor continued, Spike's tears slowly slithered down his face.
'She lost a lot of blood, her heart is pumping very fast'
Spike slowly backed away sitting down again he put his head in his hands and cried. The doctor stared at him unsure about what to do.
'Can I see her?' Spike asked
'Yes' the doctor replied leading the way to Buffy's room, she laid in her bed pale and still, the machines beeping telling everyone that she was still alive. He sat down next to her and held her hand the machine beeped a little faster he quickly turned and looked at her heart rate, so did the doctor, it had gone up a little.
'Must be true love' The doctor smiled exiting the room.
'Hey Buff it's me' Spike smiled at Buffy, tears stained all over his pale vampire cheeks.
'I miss you so much, you are really scaring me right now, our baby's born, I am not allowed to hold it, and I wasn't allowed to be with you when it was born, I am only seeing you now for the first time, I am scared Buffy come back to us please, come back to me' Tears flooded from Spike's eyes and dripped onto Buffy's hand as he leaned over her, Buffy's hand moved, her fingers slowly tightened around Spike's hand, his eye widened and he sat up straight. Buffy's eye began to twitch,
'Baby? Are you awake!?' Spike asked, Buffy's hand grabbed Spike's really tight and her mouth twitched a little trying to open, trying to speak a word quietly, flowed out
'Spike...?'
'Buffy!!??' He yelled
Buffy's eye slowly opened, shutting and opening to try and contain the bright light flooding into her eyes.
'Oh my gosh Buffy!' He yelled tears slowly dripping down his face, she smiled at him.
'DOCTOR!' Spike yelled
The doctor came rushing in,
'This... This is a miracle!' He exclaimed 'how is this possible?'
The doctor checked the machines and Buffy's blood levels and heart rate was back to normal.
'She's fine' the doctor slowly breathed trying to believe the information 'she's going to live'
Spike's cheeks were lined with a fresh new layer of tears sliding down his face, Buffy smiled but didn't move, she couldn't she was too weak.
'Don't move Buffy it's okay!' Spike told her
'Would you like your baby?' the doctor asked, Buffy had almost forgotten.
'Yes!' she replied trying to sit up a little, Spike helped her. The doctor went over to the glass cot and picked up the special new born child. He wrapped the blanket around the little one and handed it to Buffy.
'It's... a girl' He smiled and left the room. Buffy stared at her little girl tears sliding down her face. Spike looked at his child, tears in his eyes but the smile on his face was bigger.
'She's adorable' Spike whispered reaching out and holding her hand. Her little fingers wrapped around his and her eyes opened and closed.
'Well my good looks and your eyes no wonder she is adorable' Buffy smirked
'Haha wow just recovering and you are already making jokes' Spike laughed. The baby opened her eyes and her bright blue eyes stared at Buffy's, the baby began to scream.
'Oh gosh' Buffy said moving the baby away from her ears, Buffy was barely stable and the sound was torturing her, she knew her little girl didn't mean it though. Spike carefully picked up his new love and held her to his chest, he bounced up and down softly and she quieted her screaming. Buffy shut her eyes
'I'm tired' Buffy whispered
'Okay pet you get some sleep, I am going to show the gang our little girl' Spike smiled.

'She gorgeous!' Willow squealed rushing over to Spike and touching the baby's head.
'Buffy's awake!' Spike beamed
'Oh my gosh thank god' Dawn smiled with relief
'They said she wasn't going to make it...' Spike mumbled
'Buffy's strong of course she made it through' Xander smiled and patted Spike on the back congratulating him on his child.
'She's a cutie' Xander smiled
'Yes, she is quite beautiful' Giles smiled as well 'can we see Buffy?'
'She is asleep' Spike whispered staring into his baby's eyes.
'Now you have to think of a name' Willow announced
'Yeah did you have any in mind?' Xander asked
'No... not really Buffy said one last week I think but I don't remember do you Xander?' Spike asked
'I think it was Miranda' Xander replied
'Hm I'll see what Buffy thinks later' Spike smiled still admiring his beautiful new daughter.
Buffy had slept for 10 hours, the gang had gone home except for Spike he stayed by his girlfriends bed. Buffy rolled over and slowly opened her eyes, Spike was in the chair next to her holding their new born.
'Spike' Buffy whispered
'Love! You're awake!' Spike yelled, he leaned over and kissed her lips 'the gang left sorry they were tired'
'I didn't expect them to stay' she sat up 'I am starving'
'So is our baby' Spike said standing up and handing her to Buffy, she took the little girl.
'What do you want me to do?' Buffy asked
Spike lifted one eyebrow 'feed her maybe?'
'Oh, sorry I am so out of it' Buffy laughed
'That's okay' Spike smiled.

After another day Spike, Buffy and their newborn baby still with no name returned home.
'The doctor said I am allowed to take it home without a name' Buffy told the gang 'wait where's Giles?'
'Packing Buff' Dawn said as it was the most obvious thing
'What why?' Buffy asked confused
'Remember Buffy? Giles said he had to leave after the baby was born?' Willow reminded her
'Oh... I think I remember yeah' Buffy mumbled
Giles appeared from one of the doors with all his suit cases, he gave a weak smile to everyone.
'I'm sorry everyone, I do really love you all, Buffy and Spike you will be amazing parents' Giles smiled
'Thank you' Spike whispered to the ground
'I guess this is goodbye... Again... For a while' Buffy announced, she handed the baby to Spike and ran up to Giles.
'Goodbye Giles thank you for all your help, I love you too' Buffy smiled. The gang gave Giles a big group hug.
'Want us to come to the airport?' Xander asked
'No it is quite fine' Giles smiled pushing his bags through the door 'I'll take a cab and be there in a minute and I will be off' He smiled at them all, 'goodbye' he whispered climbing into the newly arrived cab and driving off.
'I'm sooo tired' Buffy said flopping down into one of the kitchen stools, Spike held their baby in his arms, she slept peacefully.
'It has only been one day with the baby' Willow said to Buffy
'I know' Buffy smiled looking at her gorgeous girl 'lets hope she stays like that'
'I'm sure she will' Spike smiled.
The clock ticked over to 9:30 pm, Buffy and Spike were getting ready for bed and the rest of the gang had gone to bed half an hour ago.
'I can't wait to go to sleep' Buffy said excitedly
'Haha you slept all day yesterday love' Spike told her coming out of the on suite
'Yeah but I was recovering'
'Did you put our baby in the cot?' Spike asked
'Yes she is fine in her room for the last time, and before you go through the checklist, yes she is safe, no she can't fall out and yes I wrapped her hands up in the blanket' Buffy ensured her lover
'Okay good sweetheart just checkin' Spike smiled walking over to Buffy and putting his arms around her waist.
'It feels like we have been apart for so long Buff'
'I know, I miss you Spike, aha I know you are right in front of me but' Buffy started
'I know what you mean I miss you too' Spike finished 'did you hook the baby monitor up?' Spike asked ruining the romantic moment
'Ugh yes!' Buffy laughed pushing Spike away playfully and climbing into bed, Spike joined her and they cuddled.
'So should we decide on a name?' Buffy asked
'Yeah, last week at the hospital you suggested Miranda' Spike said kissing Buffy on the head 'do you still like it?'
'Gosh I don't even remember saying it, how out of it was I?' Buffy asked back
'You were pretty out of it love'
'Haha oh gosh! But Miranda is a lovely name but I don't know if it suits her'
'Hmm' Spike murmured 'what will suit her?'
'I don't know I'm so tired' Buffy mumbled into the quilt, Spike put his arms around her waist and pulled her in closer
'Goodnight love' he whispered, Buffy rolled around in Spike's arms until she was facing him and she kissed him on the lips.
'Goodnight baby' Buffy replied laying her head down next to his and drifting off.

'AHHHHHHH' Buffy screamed, the clock flashed 3 am, Spike rolled over and held his girl in close, Buffy sobbed into Spike's chest
'Spike' Buffy whispered through tears
'Shh love' Spike whispered back
'How's the baby?' She mumbled
'Fine everything's fine' Spike whispered into Buffy's hair and kissed her on the head.
'Spike it was horrible' Buffy whispered
'I could hear love' Spike whispered back
'I am so sorry!' Buffy sobbed
'No pet it is fine!' Spike pulled her in even closer and rested his face next to hers 'it doesn't matter, as long as you are okay'
Buffy's sobs got quieter and eventually she drifted back to sleep.
