Today Blaine needs his flu shots done so he doesn't get the flu later on in life so he can keep up to date with it.
"Ugh, I've got to take Blaine to get his flu shots done today" I sigh as I sit up the table with dad and Carole, eating breakfast.
"You'll be fine, perhaps take him out to get ice cream as a little treat" dad suggests.
"Yeah, maybe"
"Daddy" he then cries. I get up and head upstairs into Blaine's room.
"Hey baby, had a good sleep?" I coo to him as I pick him up.
"Uh huh" he mumbles as I change his nappy.
"We'll have breakfast and then we are going out" I tell him as I take him downstairs after I finished changing his nappy. I place Blaine in his highchair and give him his breakfast. He soon finishes that and I take him back up to get dressed.
"We ready to go out?" I ask him as I start taking off his pyjamas.
"Eah" I get Blaine dressed into some Cookie Monster grey joggers with a Cookie Monster shirt and some socks.
"Tootie mon'ter" Blaine cheers.
"Yeah, that's right" I chuckle at him.
"Come on, let's get shoes on" I tell him as I take him downstairs.
"Go grab some shoes while I quickly pack a bag" I tell him. I pack him a bag and then he comes through with his Cookie Monster shoes. 'How typical' I thought as I chuckle a little.
"Wook" Blaine giggles as he passes me his shoes.
"Yeah" I then put his shoes on before heading out to the car. I clip him into his seat before getting into the drivers seat and heading toward the doctors and as we get closer, I get more nervous. As soon as we get there, I park up and get Blaine out.
"Let's go" I sigh as I walk in with Blaine on my hip.
"Appointment for Blaine Anderson?" I tell them, ignoring Blaine's whining.
"Is that for the flu jab?" She asks and I know it's not her fault but did she really have to say that.
"No daddy" Blaine looks at me while tears stream down his face.
"Sorry" the woman apologises.
"It's ok" I smile at her as I could tell that she felt really bad.
"Want a lollipop?" She offers Blaine and he nods his head 'yes' on my shoulder.
"Here you go then" she says as she puts the bowl further towards Blaine.
"Go on Blaine" I encourage him but he shakes his head 'no' this time. I sigh and take one, thanking the lady before going to take a seat.
"Do you want it now?" I ask him as he sat on my lap.
"Pwease" he whispers. I open it for him before giving it to him, by the time he finished it we were called in.
"Hello Blaine" Dr. Cole greets Blaine.
"I decided that perhaps I could get my assistant to do his you know what as he might be more comfortable with me as he knows me more than the other lot" he explains.
"Yeah, that's totally fine" I reassure him.
"Ok sweetie, this is gonna be really quick and then you can leave again, alright?" His assistant coos at Blaine as she gets things prepared. She pulls his short sleeve up a bit and rubbed a spot with antiseptic on a small bit of cotton.
"Can you just hold his arm please?" She asks me.
"Sure" I smile at her before grabbing Blaine's arm.
"Ok, sweetie, just relax" she says to him before putting it in his arm and he soon starts sobbing, making my heart break at his poor sobbing.
"Ok baby" I soothe him as best as I could.
"Nearly done" she soothes as she finishes up. A few seconds later and she was done.
"There we are" she smiles at him.
"Daddy" he sobs into my chest.
"Hang on honey, I need to put a plaster on" she says as she puts a Cookie Monster plaster over it.
"Look baby, it's a Cookie Monster plaster" I coo at him as I try and show him his plaster.
"Yeah, do you like the Cookie Monster?" Dr. Cole asks him.
"Uh huh" Blaine sniffles.
"Well, I have a sticker and maybe even a cookie" he gasps playfully as he pulls out a packet of cookies and a sticker box.
"Oh look, there's a Cookie Monster sticker, do you want it?" Dr. Cole asks him.
"Pwease"
"Sure, here bud" he smiles at him as he takes it off the sticky part.
"Where shall I put it?" He asks.
"Dare" he points where his heart was. Dr. Cole then messes around by moving the sticker in the air, around in circles, making Blaine laugh.
"And there" he finally says as he sticks it where Blaine wanted it.
"Daddy" he giggles as he looks at me.
"Yeah" I chuckle.
"What about that cookie, huh?" He opens up the packet and offers one to Blaine.
"Say thank you"
"Fank 'ou"
"You're welcome, want one Kurt?"
"No thanks"
"Ok, now, there are some common side effects to this jab" Dr. Cole starts off.
"He may just generally be tired, have a loss of appetite, get a headache or get a runny or blocked nose, but his arm will definitely ache for a couple of days" he tells me.
"Ok, I'll just give him some medicine" I tell him.
"Alright, our work here is done" he smiles as we stand up.
"Thank you so much" I say before we leave the room.
"Come on then you" I say to Blaine as I place him in his seat.
"Ow daddy" he whines as I put his sore arm in.
"Sorry baby" I kiss his forehead before properly putting him in his seat and then getting in myself, heading toward the ice cream shop.
"Yay" Blaine cheers as he sees where we landed up.
"This is because you got your flu jab done so I'm treating you to some ice cream, how does that sound?" I coo to him as I get him out of his seat.
"Yay" he cheers again.
"I knew you'd like it" I chuckle at him as we head in.
"You can have three flavours with whatever topping you would like" I tell him as we walk up to where the ice cream was behind the glass.
"Ok, what flavours would you like?" I ask him.
"Um, choco'wate, 'ubble 'um an' 'nilla" he says.
"Ok, do you want any toppings?"
"Spwinkles" he cheers.
"Alright" I chuckle. I order his ice cream and I just get myself an ice lolly. I pay the cashier and we wait for our ice creams.
"Ok, say thank you" I tell Blaine as I grab our ice creams.
"Fank 'ou" Blaine mumbles.
"No problem, little guy"
"Thanks" I say before walking to a table.
"Sit properly sweetie" I tell him as I set down our ice creams and help him sit on the chair properly.
"They are" I say as I then sit down and pass him his small tub of ice cream before I open mine and we start eating.
"Fank 'ou daddy" Blaine smiles at me with ice cream round his mouth.
"You're welcome baby" I chuckle a little.
"Is it yummy?" I ask him.
"Uh huh, 'ery" he nods his head seriously.
"Why 'ou dot dat?" He then asks me as he points to my ice lolly.
"Because I didn't want a tub of ice cream" I tell him.
"Oh, what favour?"
"You mean flavour" I tell him and he nods his head 'yes' in agreement.
"It's orange and pineapple" I tell him.
"Me twy pwease?" He asks.
"Sure" I always like it when Blaine tries food because I think it's good for him to have different foods to try and if he doesn't like it then he doesn't have to eat it again.
"Ummy" he says as he licks his lips.
"You're very silly" I tell him. We soon finish up with our ice creams and I clean Blaine up before putting our rubbish in the bin and heading out to the car.
"After your nap, we're going to papas" I tell Blaine as I clip him in his seat.
"Yay" he cheers as he throws his arms up in the air but then he soon puts them back down, crying slightly.
"Oh, did you forget about your arm?" I coo to him.
"Eah" he cries.
"It's ok baby" I soothe him as I kiss his forehead.
"You ok now?" I ask him after a couple of minutes.
"Uh huh"
"Ok, let's go home ready for a nap and then we'll go to papas" I tell him as I get in the drivers seat and head home. Once home, I get Blaine out and take him inside with his bag.
"Hey bud" dad says as he picks him up.
"How'd it go?" He then asks me as I walk through.
"He cried but we got ice cream and he even tried some of mine"
"Oh, did you like daddy's ice cream?" Dad asks Blaine.
"Uh huh, 'ery 'ummy" Blaine says as he rubs his belly.
"You're silly kiddo" dad laughs before kissing his temple.
"Ok, let's get ready for a nap and then we can go to papas house"
"Cool, you going to papas house?" Dad plays with him for a minute while I make a bottle.
"Uh huh, 'how papa owie" he tells dad.
"Yeah, oh look, you got a Cookie Monster sticker to match your outfit, that's cool"
"An' tootie"
"And a what?" Dad asks me, confused.
"A cookie, doctor Cole had some cookies and gave one to Blaine"
"Wow, that's very nice of him"
"Uh huh" he sighs as he leans against dad.
"Alright, say night to grandpa" I tell Blaine.
"Nigh' nigh'" he mumbles as he leans his head against my shoulder after I grabbed him from dad.
"Night kiddo" I take Blaine upstairs, change his nappy and then put him into his crib with his bottle and dummy. I sit with him until he was fully settled and asleep before taking his bottle and heading downstairs.
"He asleep?"
"Yup" I say as I place his bottle in the dishwasher. I then put a few more things in his bag for when we go to Sebastian's, I decided to do it now so I can just change Blaine's nappy when he wakes up and then we can go.
"Blaine might be hyped later" I tell dad as I sit down at the table with him.
"What did he get from the ice cream shop?" He asks.
"Chocolate, vanilla and bubble gum flavoured ice cream with sprinkles, so yeah definitely hyped"
"Bubble gum?"
"Yeah, I'm surprised he picked that actually, but I like it when he tries new food, just his reaction and how it's good for him to try new foods so we aren't giving him the same thing all the time" I explain to him.
"That's true" we talked for a bit until Blaine's nap was over.
"Daddy" Blaine calls for me.
"Coming" I call back as I go upstairs and into his room.
"Hey baby, did you have a nice nap?" I coo to him as I lift him out of his crib and onto his changing table.
"Eah, we 'ee papa?" He asks.
"Yup, we are now going to see papa" I tell him as I pick him back up again to go downstairs
"Yay" he cheers. I go downstairs and grab his bag before saying bye to dad and heading out to the car. I clip Blaine in and then get in myself before heading off to Sebastian's. We soon get to Sebastian's and Blaine cheers as soon as he sees Sebastian come out and head toward the car.
"Hey bud" Sebastian coos as he opens Blaine's door.
"Papa" Blaine cheers. He went to get Blaine out but I had to quickly warn him to watch his arm.
"Be careful with his left arm, he's had a flu jab today" I warn him as he picked him up and I get out.
"Oh, you should have told me, I've got to go in a bit to get mine done that's why I wanted you to come over but I also just wanted to see you both" he says before kissing me on the lips.
"Did you want me to come with you?" I ask him as we head in.
"Please"
"Sure"
"Papa, owie" Blaine points to his plaster.
"Oh yeah, it goes with your outfit and you got a sticker"
"Uh huh an' tootie" he says.
"A cookie as well?" Bas playfully gasps.
"Uh huh" Blaine giggles.
"Urt dough" Blaine pouts.
"Yeah, well listen, papa has to get an owie two, do you wanna come with?" He asks Blaine.
"Papa owie?"
"Yeah, papa has to get what you had today" I tell Blaine.
"Tay"
"What else did we get after the appointment?" I ask Blaine as I smile at him.
"Um, ice cweam"
"You got ice cream?"
"Uh huh, chocowate, 'nilla, 'ubble 'um an' spwinkles"
"Wow, can papa get some ice cream after my one?" Bas asks.
"Tay"
"Thank you" Sebastian kisses the top of his head.
"Daddy?" He then asks me, suddenly looking tired.
"Yeah baby?"
"Ired" he rubs at his eyes.
"Has he had his nap today?" Sebastian asks me.
"He has, but the doctor said that some common side effects are general tiredness, runny or stuffed nose, headache or a loss of appetite but he will obviously be sore for the next couple of days" I explain to him.
"Oh right, you tired baby?"
"Eah, 'urts" he then starts to whine.
"What hurts?" I ask him.
"Dare" he points to his sore arm.
"Ok, do you have any medicine?" I ask Bas.
"Yeah, I'll get it for you" he says as he gets up with Blaine and gets the medicine and a baby medicine syringe.
"Here" he says as he passes it to me. I open it up and put some medicine in the syringe.
"Open up sweetie" I coo to him.
"No" he mumbles.
"It'll make you feel better, bud" Sebastian tells him. Blaine then opens up and I give the medicine to him.
"Good boy" I kiss his forehead as he finished.
"Dwink?" He asks, sleepily.
"Want some milk?" I ask him and he nods his head 'yes'. I get up and make a bottle for him before passing it to him and Sebastian lies him down in his arms.
"They are, go to sleep baby" I coo as he started to dose off.
"I don't know if he'll eat anything when he wakes up" I tell Sebastian.
"Probably not" Blaine soon goes to sleep in Sebastian's arms and I swap his bottle for one of his dummies.
"Do you want to lay him down somewhere?"
"Nah, I'm good, I like a good cuddle from Blaine" he says as I wrap Blaine up in a blanket.
"Hey, what about my cuddles?" I playfully pout.
"Um, nah, not as good" he jokes.
"Fine, you clearly won't be getting into my bed anymore to cuddle"
"Ok ok, of course I love your cuddles" he smiles at me before we kiss again. We sat there cuddling for a while until we had to leave.
"What shall I do about him?" Sebastian asks me as he nods his head toward Blaine.
"Let him sleep, poor boy" I sigh as I stroke Blaine's hair out of his face.
"I'll put my shoes on and then I'll take him off you" I tell him as I slip my shoes on before carefully taking Blaine out Sebastian's arms so he could put his shoes on.
"Let's go then" Bas says as we head out to his car after he locked his house up.
"Hmm" Blaine stirred.
"It's alright, go back to sleep" I tell him as I place him in his seat and clip him up. Sebastian and I soon get in the car and head back toward the doctors. We soon get there and Sebastian gets Blaine out, who started to wake up.
"Daddy?" He mumbles sleepily as he rubs at his eyes.
"Hey bud, daddy's over there" I hear Sebastian coo at him as he gets him out and shuts his door.
"Daddy" Blaine mumbles as he reaches for me once I got closer to Sebastian.
"Ok baby, I'm not going anywhere" I soothe him as we walk in. Sebastian checks himself in while I go and sit down with Blaine.
"Shouldn't be too long before I get called" Sebastian sits down next to me. We sit and chat for a few minutes before getting called into a room.
"Hello, I'm Nurse Gown, please, take a seat" she greets us.
"So, which one of you is here for the flu jab?" She asks.
"Me" Sebastian says.
"Alright, you know how this works and all? We put cotton on with antiseptic and rub it on your arm, put the needle in and we're done" she explains and he just nods his head 'yes' in agreement.
"Alright, I'll just set up and we can be done" she gets up and prepares everything before lifting Sebastian's short sleeve shirt up like the other doctor did with Blaine.
"Papa, 'and" Blaine says as he reaches for Sebastian's hand.
"Thanks bud, papa needed that" Sebastian smiles at him as he took Blaine's hand. The nurse puts the needle in and Bas flinches a little.
"Everything good?" The nurse asks.
"Yeah, fine thanks, just pinched"
"And done" she announces as she smiles.
"Look bud, now we can have matching owies" Sebastian says to Blaine.
"Wook" Blaine giggles at Bas as he shows Sebastian his arm again.
"Oh, did you get a flu jab done today as well?" The nurse coos at Blaine.
"Uh huh" he mumbles.
"That means papa must get a sticker two, right?" She asks Blaine as she could probably see Blaine's sticker.
"Wight" Blaine agrees with her.
"Ok, which sticker do you want?" She asks Sebastian.
"Urr, I don't know, Blaine? What do you think?" He asks him. Blaine looks in the sticker box and picks out another Cookie Monster sticker.
"Dis on'" he says as he shows Sebastian the sticker.
"Oh, that's a cool one" I comment.
"Ok, there are some common side effects to this" she starts. She goes through the side effects and we say goodbye before heading to the ice cream shop to get some ice cream for on the go.
"Blaine, you want anything?" I ask him as he sits on my hip. He just shakes his head 'no'.
"Are you sure bud?" Sebastian asks him. He doesn't answer so we just leave him for now. We grab our ice cream and leave, heading to the car.
"I'll head back to mine in a little while, grab some stuff and then I'll come back and look after you both" I tell Sebastian as we make our way home.
"No, it's ok, it's probably best if Blaine stays home with you, he might be more comfortable at home when sick" he tells me.
"Then you come to mine, no arguments, you're coming, I'll pack you a bag and we'll head home for dinner" I tell him and that was the end of the conversation. We soon get back to Sebastian's and Blaine was asleep again.
"I'll just hop in and grab a few things then I'll be back out again, I don't want to disturb him so much" Sebastian says to him.
"Alright, hurry though because I don't think he'll last longer if the car isn't moving" I tell him.
"Ok, I'll be as quick as I can" he says before rushing of and into his house. I sit there for a few moments and Blaine started to stir but just in time, Sebastian came back.
"Thank god, he started stirring and you came out at perfect timing" I tell Sebastian as he hops in the car and starts driving back to my place.
"Oh sorry, I couldn't find my deodorant" he tells me. We soon get back to my place and Carole was serving dinner.
"Thanks Carole" Sebastian smiles at her.
"No problem sweetie" she smiles back. I wake Blaine up, who seemed to be a little better and place a transportation coverall bib on him.
"There we are, there's your dinner" Carole coos to Blaine as she served his and placed it on his tray with a sippy cup. We grab our dinners and talk about our days and how Sebastian ended up staying over the night. We soon finish up and I help clear up the kitchen while Sebastian went off to play with Blaine.
"Are you having fun?" I coo to Blaine as I walk into the living room.
"Ired" he whines.
"I am two, actually" Sebastian yawns.
"Ok, you two, let's get ready for bed" I pick Blaine up and we head upstairs.
"I'll give you a quick bath and then we'll get ready for bed" I tell Blaine as I start running the bath and getting everything ready. Once the bath was ready, I strip Blaine and tell Sebastian to go have a shower while I sort Blaine out. I give Blaine a quick wash round with a hair wash before getting him out and wrapping him up in a towel. I take him to his room and lie him on his changing table, drying him off and putting a fresh nappy on him.
"We ready for bed yet?" Sebastian comes in the room with his pyjamas on.
"Just got to put his pyjamas on and then we're ready for bed" I tell Sebastian. I put a pair of grey long sleeve transportation pyjamas on him before tidying up the bathroom and heading downstairs.
I make Blaine a bottle and give him some more medicine before taking him back up again, Sebastian following. I pass Blaine his Cookie Monster bottle with his spotty dog dummy.
I place Blaine in his crib with his things before kissing him goodnight, Sebastian doing the same thing before we head out and into my room.
"Ok, you, where do you hurt?" I ask Sebastian as he sat down on my bed.
"I just have a headache and feel tired" he says.
"Alright, I'll go down and grab some tablets and a glass of water, you just keep an hear out for the monitor" I tell him before going downstairs and getting what I needed and heading back up.
"Here we go" I tell Sebastian as I pass him the tablets and water.
"Thanks" he says after he took them.
"No problem, are you still feeling tired?" I ask him.
"A little"
"Ok, I'm just gonna hop in the shower real quick, are you alright to listen out for Blaine? He shouldn't really wake up but he might do because he's a bit under the weather" I explain to him.
"Sure" I hop in the shower, making it quick incase Sebastian or Blaine needed me. I get myself cleaned up and ready for bed before clearing up the bathroom quickly, I head out and see Sebastian fast asleep. I go over to him, kiss his forehead and tuck him in before quickly checking in on Blaine, who was also still asleep.
"Hey kiddo"
"Hi, I'm now off to bed, Blaine and Sebastian are a little under the weather so I could be having a busy day tomorrow" I tell him.
"Alright, well get some sleep, night kiddo, love ya"
"Night dad, love you two" we go our separate ways and I go back into my room and crawl under the covers with Sebastian. I watch Sebastian peacefully sleep for a while before going to sleep myself, knowing that tomorrow I could have my hands full with a fussy Blaine and a sick Sebastian.
