*Brooklyn's POV*

After Barry left the crime scene in anger, Joe took me to the CCPD. He had me sit in Barry's lab when as he went back down to do some paper work. His assurance that it wouldn't take long was proven false when he got called in for another case. After a few minutes of being in the lab alone, I decided to call Barry. When he didn't answer my call, I called again but he still didn't answer. Each time I called Barry didn't respond. I called Iris, then Joe to ask them if they had reached Barry, but they too had no luck. I gave up trying to reach him since he must've been busy which left me to go back to waiting. Seconds turned to minutes, and minutes turned to hours as I waited in Barry's lab. Iris had called me a few times to check on me and cheer me up a little but she was busy with her dissertation and her job at Jitters. About an hour into my wait, I decided to pull out the sketchpad that I kept stashed in Barry's lab and I moved to sit next to the window. Barry's lab had an amazing view of the city so I decided to start drawing. After another, I drew a rough sketch of the view before I grabbed my camera, from under Barry's desk, and took a picture. Soon, I felt my eye lids start to get heavy but I ignored it and went back to the sketch. As I was starting the details, I felt a gust of air behind me. I turned around and saw Barry holding a box full of paper, with his hair messy, as though he was caught in strong winds. "Barry? When did you get here?" I asked him, putting down my sketchbook.

"Oh-me? I-uh, I just got here...When did-when did you get here?" Barry responded. He set the box his was holding down on his desk and began rubbing the back of his neck, putting his other arm on his hip.

"I've been here for a while...Barry where have you been all day? I've been trying to call you but you wouldn't pick up. Iris and Joe couldn't get a hold of you either. You had us worried sick. You just got out of a coma today, and then you were hurt at a crime scene soon after, you can't go disappearing on us like that," I reprimanded him. Barry sighed and put his head down. He looked back up at me before responding.

"...I went...to Starling City." I furrowed my eyebrows, confusion clear on my face. I was also a little disappointed in Barry, how could he leave me at a crime scene while I was in tears so he could go to Starling City? I took a few deep breaths to calm myself down after standing up from my seat. I glared at him slightly and he looked at me in confusion.

"Why?" My voice was cold and hard, I could barely recognize it. Barry seemed shocked by my tone and he gave me his best puppy dog eyes. When that didn't calm me down, he responded.

"I needed to see someone there. I needed their advice," Barry tried to explain. He looked exasperated and slightly angry. My eyes softened and I realized I was overreacting. He just woke up from a coma, he needed his space.

"Okay...what's in the box?" I queried with a slight smirk on my face, while also quoting the Brad Pitt movie. Barry smiled slightly at me and let out a breathy laugh.

"I'm looking into all the seemingly impossible cases that happened in Central City while I was out. I need to stop Mardon and prove to Joe that the impossible exists," Barry explained to me. I raised my eyebrows and walked over to stand next to him. Barry started taking out a few files to show me.

"Okay, let's say Mardon is alive and he is controlling the weather like you told Joe. How are you going to stop him, you're just a normal guy, you're no match for him." I looked up at him with my eyebrows furrowed. Barry just smiled at me and ruffled my hair.

"Well you see Brooke, and this is a secret, I'm actually a superhero. I have superpowers which means I can save the world," Barry responded with goofy grin on his face. As I rolled my eyes, I scoffed slightly at his terrible joke before giving him an amused smile.

"Yeah okay. You think you're some kind of Superman, alright," I spoke elbowing him slightly. He laughed and put his arm around my shoulders and rested his head against the top of mine. "So, are you going to ask STAR Labs to help create some tech for the police to be capable of handling these impossible cases."

"....Maybe," Barry sighed. I looked up at him as he stared at the board holding our mom's case. I could tell he was hiding something but I decided not to push at it in that moment.

"Well, I'm coming with you." Barry's head shot up and he looked down at me.

"What? What do you mean you're coming with me?" Barry spat out his words so quickly that I could barely understand him.

"If you're going to try to take down Mardon, who you claim can control the weather, then you're going to need all the help you can get. I know I'm just your little sister and I'm not super smart like you or the others at STAR Labs but I want to help somehow. I'm creative, maybe I can help you guys think of a plan or an idea for the tech to take him down. Plus, I can read so if I'm not of any use creatively, I can go through the police reports or something," I stated. Barry removed his arm from around me and rubbed his face with both hands. He peeked over the tips of his fingers, since his hands were still on his face, before he answered me.

"Brooklyn, listen. I don't think it's the best idea for you to get involved with this. If there are more people out there like Mardon, I don't want you to get hurt by being associated with helping m-STAR Labs create technology to take them down. I work for the CCPD so I'm putting myself in danger with that alone but if someone hurt you, I don't know what I would do with myself. Please understand," Barry pleaded. He took my hands in his and gave me his puppy dog eyes again. I sighed, looking down, then giving him a small smile.

"Fine, you win this time. I won't come but I won't  be happy about it," I agreed. Barry fist bumped the air before spinning to me, smiling.

"Thank you so much, you're the best sister ever. Love you!" Barry yelled as he grabbed the boxes full of the case files and jogged out of the lab.

"LOVE YOU TOO!" I shouted before he could fully leave. I turned to face the window when I heard a gust of wind, the same noise I had heard earlier. I ran out into the hall and saw nothing so I shrugged and made my way back to the windows. I picked up my sketchpad again and began adding details to the city skyline. Time went fairly quickly as I drew, the sky getting darker and darker which each passing minute. As I looked back up for reference, I saw someone on the roof of a building a few streets away. Furrowing my eyebrows, I stood up and walked closer to the window because I couldn't quite make out the figure. The figure was standing oddly, his legs were shoulder width apart and his arms were at his sides but they weren't touching his sides. I squinted and leaned closer to the window and saw that the figure was a man who was wearing an all yellow suit. My eyes widen and I froze. This is the man in the yellow...who killed mom. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and shakily clicked Barry's contact. The dull sound of my phone called Barry's filled the room. "Come on Barry, pick up. Pick up," I mumbled to myself. "This is Brooklyn Allen, Bartholomew Henry Allen can't come the phone right now, so please call back later. He's a little busy drooling over Ir-"

"Brooke? Where's my phone?"

"I don't know. Anyway as I was saying Ba-"

"Brooke! What are you doing with my phone?"

"I'm not doing anything..."

"Brooklyn! Give me my phone!"  I groaned when I heard Barry's voicemail. Any other time it would've made me laugh or at least smile but right now, I was scared out of my mind. When he didn't respond I kept trying until something caught my eye, I heard Barry's voicemail again so I hung up and focused outside the window. I saw a flash of yellow lightning farther out in the distance just like the one the night mom died. Upon seeing this, I returned my gaze to the man in yellow who hadn't moved. All of a sudden his eyes flashed red and he disappeared with a trail of red lightning following him. When he disappeared I stumbled backwards into my seat before completely falling into it. I blinked few times before I realized that what I saw was real, and I wasn't just imagining it. As I sat there for a few seconds I realized it wasn't safe for me to be alone since the man in yellow was around. I quickly grabbed all my stuff and rushed out of the lab, leaving my sketchbook open on Barry's desk. Many officers bumped into me as I basically ran down the stairs. I kept running until I hit something, I looked up and realized it was Joe and I sighed in relief. Joe could probably see the fear in my eyes because he sat me down and rubbed my shoulders.

"Shouldn't I be the one rubbing your shoulders. I mean it looks like you went to hell and back," I joked, trying to hide my fear.

"Cut the act. I can see right through it." Joe grabbed a chair and sat in front of me. "What happened?" My playful smile faded as I looked at my lap.

"I saw the man in yellow," I spilled, "today." I looked back up at Joe and he saw the tears in my eyes and the few that had ran down my cheeks. His eyebrows furrowed and his mouth opened to say something before I interrupted him. "I know what you're going to say. That he wasn't real, that I'm imagining him. But he was real Joe. He was there, he was there standing on that building as real as he was when he killed my mom 14 years ago. Maybe imagining him when I was 4 years old is possible but now? When I'm 18? I know what I saw, he was really there Joe and he was looking right at me and-"

"Brooke. I believe you." I looked at Joe in shock.

"Y-you do?"

"If you had told me this at the crime scene earlier I wouldn't have believed you but now? After what I saw tonight? I have no doubt that what you saw tonight and what you, and Barry saw 14 years ago is real. I believe you Brooklyn," Joe assured me. We both stood up and I tackled him in a hug. "Now, go tell Barry," Joe said when he pulled away. When I turned and I saw Barry walking towards us. I nodded to Joe and I ran into Barry and hugged him. Barry seemed surprised but quickly hugged me back and I immediately felt safer. There wasn't a safer place than in the arms of my big brother. A few of the cops around us chuckled and rolled their eyes.

One cop even went as far to comment, "I thought the family reunion was this morning." We knew he was joking so we ignored him.

"What was this for?" Barry asked, quoting my words from earlier. I refused to let go of him and wrapped my arms tighter around his torso.

"I'll tell you at home," I mumbled into his jacket. I felt Barry nod and place a kiss on my forehead as we sway from side to side, hugging in the middle of the CCPD.
