Chapter Fourteen

When I got to school the next day I told Kristi everything. She stared at me with wide eyes, and a slightly open mouth. When I finished, I could see the anger burn inside her eyes. "I'm going to kill him," She growled, grinding her teeth.

"I already took care of them," I told her, and then explained what I did to them.

"Well I'm going to kill them times two," She snapped, and bawled her hands into fists. I opened my mouth, about to protest, but she stormed away.

"Kristi," I called, "Please don't."

"Give me one good reason," She asked, stopping with her hands on her hips. Once again I didn't have an answer, so she just winked at me, and said, "Don't worry, I'll handle it."

I was scared to find out what she was going to do to them. Of course I let her go though, because they had it coming, and now there was no way to stop it.

I laughed to myself as I walked down the hall. "Hey Taylor," Mason called, when we passed each other in the hallway.

"Hey Mason," I muttered, blushing a little.

"These are my friends, Adam and James, guys this is Taylor," Mason said, smiling. Adam and James smiled at me, and gave me a half wave.

I blushed deeper, and smiled. "So your working with Mason?" Adam asked, "That's cool, I knew he would cave in soon enough, and hire someone. I'm just happy it's you, and not this lug head." He jabbed his thumb towards James while Mason laughed.

"It's not that hard," I told them, "And Mason takes most of the costumers."

"Well he's a control freak," James agreed, "I've heard him boss around some firefighters. I'm like, dude, you're a volunteer for a reason, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO THIS STUFF!"

I laughed, and so did Mason even though his face was flushed. "I'm not that big of a control freak," He muttered.

"Yeah whatever man," Adam laughed, "But I have to get to class. It was nice meeting you Taylor; I hope to see you around."

"Yeah me too," James agreed.

"See you guys later," I said, smiling at them.

When they left, Mason smiled down at me. "They're nice," I told him, "But why did you introduce me to them?" Nikolas didn't introduce me to his friends until about two weeks after we started dating, and Mason and I weren't even really dating yet either!

Mason shrugged. "I just wanted you to meet them," He told me, "They were supposed to be on their best behavior."

"Well they were," I answered, walking down the hall with him.

Mason smiled at me, and blushed again. "So you want to go out with me this Saturday?" He asked, looking at his feet.

Was it too soon? No. But then again I just broke up with Nikolas. Although Mason was the reason why I was going to break up with Nikolas. I turned my head, and looked at him. "Sure," I whispered.

Mason looked at me, and smiled brightly. I didn't know what to do, so I gave him a small smile back. "I'll come pick you up around 8," He told me, "See you!"

I waved as he walked back down the hallway. Suddenly Kristi was in front of me smiling, "I heard that! EPP! I'm so helping ou get ready!"

"Well he can't know you're there," I whispered.

"Well duh," She explained, giggling, "And don't worry about Nikolas, he's taken care of."

"Oh no," I muttered, "What did you do?"

"Nothing," She said swiftly. I let it go though, because I didn't care. I was too excited to go out with Mason that I really didn't care about Nikolas anymore or what he and Russell did.

Kristi looped her arm through mine, and we walked down the hall. She started telling me about the things I she was going to do with my hair. "Nothing too wild," I interjected.

"Yeah yeah," She responded. She went back to talking, telling me she was going to bring some of her tops over, because apparently I didn't have any.

"Hey Taylor, did you see this?" Someone called. I turned around, and saw a girl from my History class holding the school newspaper. "I'm trying to get everyone to read it, it's hilarious."

"I'm...I'm alright," I muttered.

"But it's about Nikolas," She told me, and I ripped the paper out of her hands. I looked over at Kristi, and she was smirking at me.

"I told you I would take care of it," She shrugged, "Good job Meghan." The girl named Meghan smiled brightly as I read the article. I scanned it over quickly. It talked about what Nikolas and Russell did to me. My mouth dropped open a little, and I couldn't help but smile.

Then the article talked about what I did to them. It made me smile brighter to see that I was recognized. They didn't put my name in exactly. "This is hilarious Kristi," I laughed.

"I wrote it up myself," She promoted.

"I like it too," Meghan chimed in.

"Thank you ladies," Kristi said, bowing a little.

Suddenly the loudspeaker turned on, and our principle announced, "Would Nikolas Lot and Russell Dubre come to the main office? Thank you, that is all."

Kristi and started giggling, but had to sustain a straight face as the two guys walked by. I glared at Nikolas, but felt the smirk on my face. They tried not to look at me though, which made me feel that much happier. "Good job Kris," I muttered, still smirking.

"Thank you," She repeated.

We started walking back down the hall, listening to Meghan telling people to read the article. "That jerk," A girl we passed said as she read the article, "And I liked him. I hope he gets suspended."

"Better yet expelled," Her friend said, "I would kill my boyfriend if he did that to me."

"Well it seems like this girl took care of both of them herself," The girl replied, "Good for her."

Kristi me with a supreme smile, and shrugged, "This turned out better than I thought." I couldn't help but agree with her, because I was happy. I felt free from Nikolas, and he got what was coming for him. I had a date with Mason, and the best best friend in the whole world. My life was pretty good at the moment.

The week flew by. Nikolas and Russell both got detention for a month, because there wasn't a real reason why they should be expelled. Our principle was also a woman, so I guess she took offense to that too.

Mason continued to talk to me the rest of the week, along with his really nice friends Adam and James. Before I knew it, I was walking down the hall with them, actually talking to them. I never really talked to Nikolas' friends because all they really talked about was football. These guys talked about and joked about almost everything.

Also, over the week my nose was fixed, and I didn't have to wear that stupid thing on my nose anymore. I was so happy, I smiled, and touched my nose all day.

Soon Saturday came and Kristi came over to help me get ready. Lexie sat on my bed, and watched with wide eyes as Kristi straightened every single piece of hair on my head. "OW, you hit my ear," I grumbled.

"If you stopped fidgeting, I wouldn't," She told me with a small laughed.

I sighed, and bit my lip as she pulled hard on my hair. The music was blasting Cobra Starship's new so 'Hot Mess.' Kristi sang out the words, and I had a feeling she had her ears closed as she sung because she burnt my head again.

"Ugh, Kristi," I groaned.

She ignored me, and said, "Lex, can you get Taylor's green shirt out of the closet? Along with her dark blue skinny jeans?"

Lexie nodded, and got off the bed. "Alright..." Kristi said, "I think I got every piece of hair. Now let's clip some hair back."

She continued to play with my hair as Lexie lay out my clothes. "Thanks Lex," I muttered.

I put on my dark skinny jeans, and my flannel green shirt that had beaded straps. I pushed my bright red hair out of the way; it fell on my shoulders, longer now that it was straightened. "You look great," Kristi told me, "Right Lexie?"

"Beautiful," She smiled, and then sat back on the bed.

I smiled at her, and then looked at Kristi. "Hey," I whispered, "I know this is a last minute thing, but..."

"You want me to stay with Lexie?" She interjected, "Sure. We'll have fun."

"Oh, I forgot," I laughed, "You're psychic."

"Shush," She hissed, "Lexie doesn't know!" We laughed, and then someone knocked on the door. I froze, and looked at my door.

"Here I go," I muttered, and then started downstairs.

Well?
