“I actually fell asleep,” I stuck out my tongue.

“It was a tough message,” Colin consoled me. “I never like Revelations.”

“It’s quite depressing,” I agreed.

“But the Koreans sure are friendly,” Colin chuckled.

I chuckled too. “Yeah. Even though most of the time I couldn’t understand what they were trying to say.”

We were still laughing over the conversations we had with the Koreans when we walked into the VIP lounge.

The boys looked at me grimly.

“I’ll head back to my room,” Colin waved and headed off.

“See you at dinner,” I smiled. I turned back to face the boys. Zayn was not there.

“Where’s Zayn?” I asked lightly as I joined them. I took a piece of the carrot slice which Louis was eating.

“I think he’s in the gym,” Niall said.

“Gym?” I chuckled. “Never knew he was into toning...”

“He’s angry,” Liam informed me.

“Angry?” I asked, puzzled. “About?”

“He waited for you for lunch,” Louis said.

Shit. I forgot that I had promised that I would take lunch with him.

I gasped, “Oh no!”

“Why are you so late?” Liam asked. “Didn’t you check your phone?”

“I put it to silent mode when I was in church and I forgot to check it...” I groaned.

“Well,” Niall shrugged. “Go and talk to him.”

“I will,” I said as I stood up to go in search for my angry boyfriend.

Zayn was not in the gym. Neither was he in the room. I tried calling him but he had left his phone in the room for it was ringing when I checked out the room.

Where could he be, I wondered.

I could almost whack myself. I forgot my promise to him. Damn.

Judging from the looks of the boys, I figured he was really really upset.

I decided to stop by the pool. It was the last place he would probably be at, but it was worth a try.

I walked around the sky garden beside the pool. No one was there except those who were enjoying a nice tan or swimming.

Where could he be?

Then I noticed a slight movement behind the bushes.

I rounded the bushes and found Zayn sitting on the bench, smoking. It had been awhile since he last smoked. I remembered that he only smoke when he was stressed or upset.

I walked up to him softly.

He saw me before I called him.

His eyes were filled with hurt and anger when he looked at me.

“I’m sorry...Zayn,” I approached him cautiously.

He kept quiet without saying a word.

“Zayn...?” I wished he would say something. Even if he shouted at me. Keeping quiet was way too scary for me.

“You are late,” he said softly after he took a puff.

“I thought you quit smoking,” I pointed out. Probably a wrong move.

“Do you care?” his eyes intense and fixed on me.

“Of course! You know I do!”

“Really,” he smirked.

“I’m sorry, okay. I forgot about our lunch date.”

He blinked away.

“I’m really sorry,” I reached out for his hand but he shrunk away.

He walked further away from me.

I sighed before I broke into tears.

He ignored me.

“I’m really sorry,” I cried between sobs. “I really forgot about it. There was a lunch fellowship and the people in church were so friendly. I couldn’t turn them down!”

“You could have called or messaged me!” he raised his voice.

Zayn had never raised his voice at me. I just blinked at him.

“I forgot...” I said stupidly.

“You didn’t really want to have lunch with me in the first place,” he said. “Because I refused to go to church with you.”

“Zayn!” I exclaimed. “I never thought of it that way!”

“Whatever,” he shrugged.

“That’s not true!” I ran up to him and shook him. “That’s not true!”

“It doesn’t matter anymore,” he sighed. “It’s over anyway.”

“How can I make it up?” I pleaded. “Dinner?”

“I’m not hungry,” he said as he turned and walked away back into the hotel.

“Please...” I begged.

“It’s okay, Jo,” he said. “I’ll be fine in awhile. Just upset.”

That was not fair! He refused to accept my apology. And trust that he came up with that funny logic!

“I did not purposely forget our appointment,” I said through clenched teeth as I followed behind him.

He kept quiet.

I followed behind him all the way back to our room – in silence.

“JO!” Colin called out when we passed by his room. He had opened the door. “The results are out.”

“Huh? What results?” I sniffed. From the look of his eyes, I knew I must be with puffy red eyes.

“The audition... are you okay?” He looked to me first then to Zayn who was opening our door.

“Yeah,” I sniffed again.

“I got in,” he beamed.

“Congrats!” I tried to force a smile. “I’ll check it in awhile.”

“Are you okay?” he asked softly as he stepped closer to me. Zayn had stepped into the room.

“I’m fine.”

“He’s angry because you missed lunch?”

I sighed and nodded.

He rolled his eyes, “It’s just a lunch. What’s his problem?”

“It’ll be fine,” I assured him.

“Let me know your results k?”

“Sure,” I smiled before going into my room.

I went to my Ipad and logged in.

Zayn had grabbed his phone and was about to head back out.

“Zayn, can you wait for me?” I asked. He ignored me. Then the door closed behind him.

My tears were flowing down uncontrollably when I saw my results.

Application successful.

Then there was a whole long instruction on what to do and other stuff. But I was not happy. How could I be happy when Zayn was so angry with me?

I slid down against the bed to the floor.

What was wrong with Zayn? Like Colin said, it was just lunch. So what was his problem?

I sat there cuddled up with my hands around my knees until the sky turned dark and caused the room to be in darkness as well. I lost all appetite to eat even though I was excited about my admission.

What was this if Zayn was not here with me to share it?

I cried until I had no tears left.

Colin came to knock a few times. Guess he missed me at dinner or he wanted to know my result. I did not reply and he went away awhile later.

When Zayn came back to the room, I was still sitting at the same spot.

Since it was dark, he actually tripped over my foot.

“Jo?”

I did not answer. I had no strength left to answer him.

He squatted down before him and just stared at me.

“I’m sorry...” I mumbled. My voice was hoarse from crying.

He let out a deep sigh before pulling me into a hug.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “I’m acting like an idiot.”

“I’m sorry...” I repeated.

He shook his head. I could feel his hair brushing my ear. “Have you eaten?”

“I’m not hungry...”

“It’s almost nine. How could you not be hungry?”

“I’m just too tired...”

“I shouldn’t have made you cry,” he said.

“I’m really sorry...”

“No, it’s my fault. I was being petty,” he said. He tried to help me up. “Let’s get you some food.”

I shook my head, “I’m not hungry.”

He glared at me, “You’re lying.”

“No... it’s true...”

He carried me bridal style onto the bed.

“Zayn... I did not purposely forget our appointment just because you did not come along...”

“Please erase that,” he said softly. “It was just spiteful words...”

“You sure?”

He nodded. He brushed a strain of hair and tugged it behind my ear. “How was your result?”

“I got it,” I smiled lightly.

“Congratulations,” And he kissed me with a peck on the forehead.

I fell asleep before I could say another word.
