Waking up that morning Kristen was slightly confused as to where she was at until she remembered she was in London. Rolling over, she slowly got out of bed, careful not to wake Robert and headed over to the playpen to find their daughter still fast asleep. Kristen didn't know what to make of it, she was happy that Eliana slept through the night but on the other hand, she desperately missed being needed at night. she missed her 3 am conversations with her baby girl as she would nurse in the comfort of her bed. she missed being relied on so much, yes Eliana still relied on her but slowly she was becoming her own person. Kristen shook the thought out of her head, a thought that no parent ever wants to have. the day her little girl would leave the nest, that was still extremely far away given Eliana was coming on only 5 months old. just those months ago, if someone had said that Kristen would be worrying about that kind of stuff, she would have laughed. but now, she knew those kinds of things were not jokes. she had heard about new mothers worrying about that kind of stuff and always thought they were exaggerating but now that she was a mother herself, she understood and at times hated that she was so overprotective. lord help her child she thought
She went into the guest shower, getting herself ready for the day ahead of her. They were going to lunch with Robert's sisters and as much as she did not want to admit it, she was scared. Lizzie hated her with a burning passion and no one knew why.
Sighing, she headed out of the bathroom and found her daughter just opening her eyes.
"Good morning Eliana" Kristen whispered, "let's go get something to eat."
Taking Eliana out to the kitchen, Kristen tried being as quiet as she could, not knowing where Richard was sleeping but as she entered the room, she saw him sitting on the couch with a picture of his wife in his hand crying. She decided to just give Eliana breast milk for breakfast, she felt bad that Eliana had not had actual food in a few days but Richard needed her and it would be easier just to breastfeed. she got Eliana situated and headed over to the couch taking a seat next to Richard.
"Are you ok?" she whispered
"I miss her," he sobbed
Kristen wrapped her free arm around Richard pulling him in for a hug.
"I miss her too Richard, she was like a mother to me. hell she pretty much was a mother to me you guys gave me the love of my life and I never got to thank her for that, but like I told your son last night, she is watching over our family."
"You're right Kristen. it was just so sudden"
"I know it was, but maybe it was her time."
Kristen sat there and talked to Richard for a while until Rob came out of the bedroom, freshly showered.
"I will leave you guys alone," Kristen said to Rob as she got up to go get Eliana ready for the day.

Arriving at the restaurant, Kristen had Eliana against her chest as they looked around for Lizzie and Victoria. The place was packed with the usual lunch rush and Kristen and Robert had a hard time searching for his sisters. Spotting them in a booth towards the back, Kristen and Rob headed over there, taking a seat across from the two girls
"Hello Rob," Lizzie said
"Hi, Lizzie"
The talking usually involved plans for the funeral or about Eliana, as the lunch went on, the more awkward it got. The tension in the air was hard to avoid. Kristen felt uncomfortable given the tension was more about her and Lizzie and focused her attention mainly on Eliana who was sucking on her teething ring in her lap. it was toward the end of lunch when Lizzie finally spoke up
"So, Rob," Lizzie said. "When are you going to start dating?" she casually asked, causing Rob to look at his sister like she had three heads as Kristen rolled her eyes
"I already am....." Rob said slowly, very confused by his sister.
"What a shame, a beautiful baby has that for a mother"
Kristen looked at Rob who was livid, she was afraid of what he might do.
"I love her Lizzie, why can't you respect that?"
"Oh come on Robert, you can do so much better than this bitch and the devil's spawn." That was it for Kristen, she had had enough. Throwing her napkin down, she stood up, holding Eliana tight.
"THATS IT! you can say anything you want about me but I'll be damned if you are going to say anything bad about our daughter " Kristen growled and Robert knew Lizzie had messed with the wrong side of Kristen.
"Fuck you bitch," Lizzie spat
"I wouldn't in a million years." And that's when it happened. Before anyone could even blink, Lizzie's hand met Kristen's face spinning her around, making her almost drop Eliana. Kristen's instinct was to cup her cheek but she couldn't because of her hold on the baby. She stood in shock, a sharp cry from Eliana made her realize she wasn't the only one affected by it.
"It's alright baby, momma's got you, sweetheart," Kristen whispered. She looked up at Rob who was clearly pissed. "I'm going to take Eliana to the car," she said as the baby continued to cry. Rob nodded. She left and went and sat in the car with Eliana, snuggling with her to calm her down. She needed to get the both of them out of there before she fought back, scaring Eliana more. but then again, she had left Robert in there and she knew he would not hesitate to hurt anyone who hurt his girls and that was one of the things Kristen loved about him.
Meanwhile inside, Rob was as mad as ever, he went around the table and grabbed Lizzie by her wrist. No one ever raised a hand to either one of his girls
"What were you thinking?" He seethed
"What, your girl can't handle a simple slap?"
"YOU DONT TOUCH MY GIRLFRIEND OR MAKE MY DAUGHTER CRY! YOU HAVE NEVER LIKED HER, NOT ONCE WHEN YOU HAVE SEEN HER HAVE YOU TREATED HER WITH RESPECT AND SHE SITS THERE AND TAKES IT! I HAVE NOT SAID ANYTHING IN RESPECT TO HER BUT YOU HITTING HER AND MAKING HER ALMOST DROP OUR DAUGHTER IS WHERE YOU CROSSED THE LINE! YOU HIT HER BECAUSE SHE WAS STANDING UP FOR ELIANA, YOU HIT HER FOR WHAT A MOTHER WOULD NATURALLY DO! YOU ARE LUCKY KRISTEN WON'T HAVE TO BAIL ME OUT OF JAIL!" Rob screamed
"Mmm....go be with your bitch Rob. Just don't expect us to talk to you and were cutting you out of being a pallbearer for mums funeral."
"Fine. Whatever, I'm out of here to find my girls. The most important people in my life"
"She and that kid need to die" Lizzie muttered and that was the last straw for Rob. Victoria couldn't believe what she was seeing, her baby brother beating up his sister, she left to go find Kristen
"Kristen!" Victoria shouted.
Kristen sat up still having a hold on Eliana
"Go and talk some sense into my brother"
"What happened?" Kristen groaned
"Let's put it his way, Lizzie said some not so nice things after you left and Rob is in there right now beating the shit out of her."
"What ultimately set him off?"
"When she said you and Eliana needed to die....."
"Oh, I know why"
Victoria gave her a confused look
"I almost did die, a few months ago, I will explain later. Here watch your niece while I save her father from getting arrested or being the reason we have another funeral"
"Sounds good," Victoria said as she took Eliana into her arms who started whimpering and reaching out for Kristen
"I'll be back love," Kristen said as she kissed Eliana hand. She took off back into the diner to see Robert with Lizzie pinned to the ground on top of her
"Robert!" She screamed
"Fuck" he muttered knowing he was in for it now. He got up off Lizzie and only then did Kristen see the true damage. Lizzie's face was bloody and probably a broken nose.
Kristen was taken aback. She turned around trying not to puke. Rob got up and went over to her and rubbed her back.
"I'm so sorry Kristen"
"And I thought Eliana would be the first person I would be scolding in my life, not you!. We will talk about this later." Kristen growled. "Go call 911, she needs an ambulance"
Rob went to call 911 while Kristen took some deep breaths to calm herself.
When the paramedics came, so did the police. Medics checked both Rob and Lizzie over and the only Lizzie was taken to the hospital to get checked out. Victoria and Kristen were both questioned as to what they saw.
"The lady has decided not to press charges, Mr. Pattinson. You got very lucky" the officer said as he came over to Rob
"Thank you,"
"Let's get out of here Rob, Eliana needs a nap" Kristen said
When they got home Kristen went and found Richard.
"Can you watch Eliana, please? She's asleep and I need to go have a word with your son."
"I heard what happened. Lizzie called me."
"Yeah, I'll be back." Kristen headed back to the bedroom where Robert was.
"What the fuck were you thinking?" She hissed as she shut the door
"I don't know, I wasn't"
"That's obvious! Rob, you could have gone to jail. I get that you were defending me but seriously." Truth was, Kristen was a little freaked out. Never in the years that they had been together had she ever saw that side to Rob. She still knew he would never hurt her or Eliana, she knew she could trust him that way. But still, she was freaked out.
"I cannot tell you how sorry I am Kristen, I was sick of her treating you like shit and then after she hit you I was about to snap. Then for her to go and say you and Eliana should die...I lost it"
Kristen sighed and went up to Robert hugging him. "I know your reasons babe, but you can't just lose your temper like that. You scared me."
"I'm sorry hun, I didn't mean for you to see that."
"I'm letting you off easy this time but if Eliana would have seen it, you would not have gotten off as easy. Got it?"
"Yes, ma'am. How are you after being hit?"
"Ok, still hurts a little but I'm alright. I'll be right back." Kristen went back to the living room to get Eliana.
"Tell Robert we will talk later." Richard voiced
Kristen nodded and took Eliana who was still asleep and placed her on the bed. She really wanted to just forget today ever happened but she knew that wouldn't be easy. she climbed up and pulled Eliana against her, deciding she was going to take a nap along with her daughter.
