"How are you feeling?" Kingsley asked
"Good, exhausted, and a bit horny." I told him while mixing the salad and the croutons
Currently, Kingsley and I were in the kitchen, helping mom put finishing touches on dinner. Xavier, dad, Danny, alpha Theodore and his beta, Chris left to discuss some things in dad's office.
He started to chuckle
"That's gross" he jokingly said while scrunching up his nose
I shrugged my shoulders while popping a crouton in my mouth
"Hey, I'm marked and in love"
"Being horny doesn't mean you're in love" he said
"No, but being horny for the person you love is natural"
"So, does this mean you guys will mate soon?" He smirked
"I'm not sure. Honestly, I want to mate with him before my heat starts. I want him to mate with me cause he wants to, not because his wolf is driving him crazy." I sighed
Going into heat isn't something I'm looking forward to. It starts when I turn eighteen... which is in two days. I'm going to be horny for at least a week. Great.
"Anyways, why is alpha Theodore here?" I asked
"I'm not sure. I came here to get my stuff, but your mom insisted I stay for dinner. She has something up her sleeves."
"King, it's my mom. She always has something up her sleeves"
"True"
We both started to laugh out loud, but stopped when we heard subtle footsteps coming towards us. Our laughter died down and we got back to work. I put the salad aside and took the lasagna out of the oven.
"Layla, bring the salad. Kingsley, would you be a dear and bring the lasagna?" Mom asked
"Of course" he replied
We both complied with mom's request. Once we set the food down on the table, I look around and saw little cards with each of our names on it
"Mom, what is this?" I asked her, holding up a card
"What does it look like? It's a seating card"
"I know what it is" I said giving her a pointed look "why do we need it?"
"Oh you'll find out soon enough" she grinned
Both Kingsley and I let out a nervous chuckle
Oh great
After awhile, I heard some muffled voices and the sound of heavy feet.
I turned around and saw dad, Xavier, alpha Theodore and Chris stepping into the dining room. Dad, Theodore and Chris were all laughing at something Theodore said, but Xavier had an annoyed expression all over his face.
'What's the matter, babe' I mind linked
His eyes snapped to mine, he gave me a cheeky grin and walked over to me.
'Nothing baby' he said while kissing my cheek
I snapped out of my daze when I heard the front door close. I saw Danny walk into the dining room. I felt a growl vibrate through Xavier's chest and his hand on my waist tightened. I looked over at Kingsley who was looking just as shocked as I was.
"Well, don't just stand there. Sit down"
Mom motioned all of us to sit. I sat down at the seat that had my place card, Xavier sat down next to me.
"What's with the place cards?" He whispered in my
"Don't even ask" I told him
I saw Kingsley take a seat across from us and Chris sitting on the same side as Kingsley, but Danny sat in between them. Dad sat at the head of the table and mom sat to the side of him. I felt another presence to the other side of me, I turned my head and saw alpha Theodore sit down next to me. He gave me a sly grin and I just gave him a smiled. I heard a low growl and I felt my seat move. I turned and saw the space between mine and Xavier's chair gone. I looked at Xavier, who was giving alpha Theodore a deathly glare and trust me, if Xavier's looks could kill, he would be dead right now.
'Xavier, calm down' I told him through our mind link
'Layla, that pervert can't stop looking at you. It's pissing my wolf off.'
'Awe baby, are you getting jealous?' I asked him
'No' he replied, grouchily
If I could, I would've busted out laughing. He sounded like a little kid who didn't get what he wanted. I reached out rubbed his thigh, comforting him.
'I'm all yours' I reassured him
'Thank you'
I gave him a warm smile
"Ahem"
I heard someone cough, I looked up, only to see everyone looking at us. I felt a warm blush on my face.
"Ah, let's dig in" mom said
I quickly obliged

After dinner, both Kingsley and I helped mom in the kitchen.
"So, things between you and Xavier are getting pretty steamy" mom stated, while Kingsley let out a chuckle
I gave her a flat look
"Ugh, mom I really don't want to talk about it" I told her while recalling that little moment I had with Xavier
She started to grin
"No, I know and it's totally understandable. When your father marked me, we couldn't keep our hands off of each other. So we mated the day after." She gleamed
"Oh my gosh, I'm leaving"
"Layla! Sweetie, it's bound to happen, it's only natural. It's the circle of life!"
I scrunched my nose in disgust. I washed my hands and started to dry them. All of a sudden, I heard a loud crash from the patio. I looked at mom with wide eyes
"What was that?" Kingsley asked
"I-I'm not sure" mom replied
I slowly walked to the back door, I lifted up the sheer white curtain and peeked outside. I scanned the back patio and saw nothing, except a broken flower pot. I reached to turn the doorknob, but mom stopped me.
"Your dad's coming. I mind linked him and he said to stay put" she told me
"Mom, someone trespassed. One of your flower pot is broken."
Then, it hit me. What if it was Kyle? Was he going to make his move? Was he going to attack? All these questions where giving me a headache. I felt a shiver run down my spine and it wasn't a good one.
"Honey, - wait, someone broke my flower pot?"
I have her a flat look
"What?! I worked so hard to plant my flowers."
"Mom" I sternly told her
"Okay! Sorry"
I walked over to the island and sat in the stool, I just sat there in a moment of silence.
"Mom, what if it was Kyle?" I asked her in a low whisper
"Sweetheart" she started to say as she walked over to me
"If he knows what's good for him, he won't come here. I won't let him touch you or come anywhere near you. He won't ever get you, I promise." She said as she kissed the top of my head, while Kingsley soothingly rubbed my back
Shortly after dad, Xavier and Danny walked through the back door. Mom quickly rushed over to dad's side and hugged him, I did the same with Xavier.
"So, anything?" Mom asked dad
He sighed and rubbed his head
"Well, there was defiantly someone in the back. There was an unknown scent, but it was faint. We have our best fighters on it"
"That's good" mom said
I let out a sigh I didn't know I held in.
"Baby?" I heard Xavier ask
"Hum?" I hummed in response
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah"
I looked up and smiled, leaning against his shoulder for support.
"Dad, do you have any idea-" I started to say, but a gruff voice cut me off
"ALPHA!" I realized who that voice belonged to, it's Jordan
Jordan is one our best warriors, his sense of smell is impeccable. We all quickly walk to Jordan, wondering what was going on. Once we all reached the living room, a gasp left my lips.
"Robin?" I confusedly asked
Jordan and a few other men where restraining her while she started to resist.
"What are you doing here?" Xavier angrily asked
"Xavier-" she started to say
"Show some respect!" Danny snarled out
"Don't tell me what to do" she snapped at Danny
"For the last time, what are you doing here?"
"Xavier, I'm here to warn you from making the biggest mistake of your life. You can't get mated to that. It doesn't deserve to be your mate, I do. I will be an amazing Luna and an amazing mother to your children. Just take out the trash and take me back."
The second she finished her sentence, I felt something inside of me just snap. My wolf couldn't stop snarling, begging me to let her take control. My fists started to ball up and my jaw started to clench, I had all my anger bottled up inside of me and it needed to be released. I slowly walked over to her, letting my wolf take over my body.
"Release her" my wolf commanded to the warriors restraining her
They happily complied and backed up. The next thing I knew, my fist connected to her nose. She fell on the ground and I tackled her. Blow after blow after blow. I couldn't stop my actions, all my anger and energy was released on her.
"STOP!"
I turned around and saw alpha Theodore at the doorway out of breath
"She's my mate" he said in a low voice
My wolf gave me control. I immediately let her go and stood up. I looked at him and Robin, back and forth. Wow, this was unexpected.

"Here"
I said to the red headed vixen while I handing her an ice pack
"Thanks"
I took a sit on the chair next to her hospital bed. I examined her face closely, there were some purple and black bruises and her eyes looked swollen. Damn, Layla did some damage.
"How are you feeling?"
"I've been better" she replied, inattentively
"Listen, I wanted to talk to you about 'us'" I told her
"About that, I don't like you. I don't want to be your mate or want anything to do with you. I love someone else, so the only thing to do is... reject you?"
I stared at her for a moment, then let out an audible breath
"Thank you"
"I know that you- wait, thank you? You want to be rejected?" She confusedly ask
"Of course, I don't want to be with you. I have someone else in my mind and hopefully, soon marry."
I saw a flash of hurt come through her eyes, but they came as soon as they left. She gave me a sly smile
"Good."
"Who's the guy?" I curiously asked her
"No one you don't know"
"You're not going to tell me?" I asked, laying back on the chair
"I don't want another person to get in the way"
"Trust me, you don't have to worry about me getting in the way"
"So, just out of curiosity, who's the girl?"
"No one you don't know" I retorted
"It's Layla" she smugly said
I sat up straight
"That's disgusting, you could do so much better" she finished
"Why? Are you jealous?" I smirked
"No, she's the bitch that's in my way. That slut is stealing my man."
"King Xavier? He's the man that has your heart?" I started to laugh
Her face started to get red and her nose flared up in anger. If we were together, I would've called her cute. My laughter died down and I calmed myself.
"How about I propose you a deal?" I cunningly asked her
"What is it?"
"Let's make both of us happy, I get what I want and you get what you want"
"And how will we do that?"
"Simple, we break up Layla and Xavier"

"Thanks for having me, Samantha. It was a delicious dinner"
"The pleasure was ours, I'm just sorry you had to go through that." She sheepishly said
I gave her a hug and walked away. After, alpha Theodore took his whore of a mate to the hospital. Now that I think about it, the moon goddess did a great job pairing those two up, they are perfect for each other. I reached my car and was about to open the door, but stopped when I heard my name being called out. I turned around and saw Danny coming over towards me. I quickly turned back around and rushed to get in my car, trying to avoid him.
"Kingsley" he said as he reach me and touched my shoulder
I shivered under his touch, I turned around and gave him a strained smile
"Danny" I coldly replied
I saw him flinch. Good.
"Listen I wanted to talk to you."
"About what?"
"I was hoping we could be friends" he said with hope gleaming in his eyes
"Friends? You want us to be friends?"
I let out an obnoxious laugh that was a good joke. But, after looking at his face, I knew he wasn't joking. My laughter died down.
"Are you serious? After what you did to my best friend, you want us to be friends?! If you think this is a joke, then you're really sick!"
"I'm not joking. After what we have been through, we owe ourselves that."
"No, I can live without you. I don't need you, not now or ever."
"Kingsley, please. Just give our friendship a try" he begged while going down on his knees
I looked at him with wide eyes. What was he doing?
"Stop. Get up!" I said in a low whisper
"No, not until we are friends!"
I searched his eyes, he was telling the truth. I took a moment to think
'Give him a chance, please' my wolf begged
"Fine, I'll be your friend" I finally said in defeat
I big grin appeared on his face. He stood up and engulfed me in a big hug.
"Thank you" he whispered in my ear
I awkwardly hugged him back. He put me down and was still grinning at me. I smiled at him.
"Well, I'm going to go now. Bye."
I stepped back and got in my car. I drove away, hoping I didn't make a mistake.
