Madeline's POV- April 2017
"Why do you have to take pictures of everything you eat?"
"I don't take pictures of everything I eat" I replied as I snapped a picture of the spoonful of mac and cheese Mel was holding.
She glanced up and smiled at Jon.
"Stop being a hater babe"
He frowned a bit, but accepted the plate of mac and cheese.
"Two spoons, right?"
I nodded and looked down at my phone.
"What should I caption it?" I asked.
Mel handed me my plate and took my phone from me.
"This good?"
I looked at the caption and nodded as I posted it.

"What time are you heading out?"
"In about an hour" I answered.
"Mind if I head out with you? I need to go to the library to work on my final group project"
The semester would end in less than a week and in less than two we'd be graduating. It was crazy to think that I neither of us would be returning to Gainesville next school year. Mel would be going to UC Davis for Veterinarian school, Jon to UC Santa Cruz for his Masters in Engineering and Manny to Vanderbilt in Nashville for Med School.
"Yeah, just be ready by five" I replied as my phone began ringing.
I answered the call and put my phone against my ear.
"To what do I owe this call?" I greeted.
"Just a proposition"
I hummed as I waited to hear it. There was a light chatter in the background meaning he was probably in the locker room.
"Stop posting pictures of your food because it's not fair"
I laughed as I took a bite of my mac and cheese.
"Congrats on making playoffs" I told him.
"Thank you"
"And for finally scoring your first" I added.
It had finally happened, Kasperi had scored his first NHL goal.
"I have to get going, we're about to warm up"
"Alright, expect something in the mail later tonight" I said.
He stayed quiet.
"What did you send?"
I smiled.
"Goodbye" I replied.
I ended the call and looked at Mel.
"Who was that?"
"Kasperi" I answered.
"Darn, my money was on Auston"
I rolled my eyes as all three of them wiggled their eyebrows at me.
"Speaking of Auston, does Alex know you made out with his little brother?"
"Yeah, he let it slip" I stated.
Alex had called Auston via FaceTime a day after he got back from Cali. Her exact words were 'he turned incredibly red and would not stop smiling when I mentioned you'. He then got the 'if you hurt my best friend i'll kick your ass' speech. When Auston asked if I was going to get the 'if you break my brother's heart I'll kick your ass' speech, Alex snorted and told him that the chances of me ruining this were incredibly slim.
"I need some clarification"
I hummed for Manny to continue.
"Ok, so obviously you two kissed"
I nodded.
"What exactly is going on with you two?"
"We're just friends" I answered.
He frowned.
"Ok, why?"
"Because we have other priorities at the moment" I replied.
"Are you two not seeing anyone?"
"I'm not seeing anyone" I stated.
I didn't know about Auston.
"Because you agreed not to see anyone?"
"No" I said.
He frowned.
"So he's allowed to see other girls?"
"He's allowed to do what he wants" I told him.
What Auston did in his free time was something that did not concern me. It was his life, and it's not like we were dating.
"We're going to talk about this during the summer" I explained.
Jon hummed.
"Hypothetically speaking"
Here comes a scenario, Jon loves those.
"Let's say he's seeing someone, what are you going to do?"
Manny chuckled as he poured himself a glass of juice.
"Knowing Auston, he'd drop the girl for Maddy"
Mel nodded agreeing.
"We can even use Maddy's first trip to Toronto as an example"
Two of the girls that Auston was sleeping with had shown up to his apartment. I got a nice glare from both when they found out who I was.
"I know he's attracted to you, who isn't? The big question is, are you attracted to him?"
Was I attracted to Auston?
"I am, but I don't see myself in a long term relationship with him. At least not at the moment" I replied.
Manny nodded.
"Hate to break it to you, but most guys his age think with their dicks"
Leave it to Manny to be incredibly bold.
"I say that because I too was an incredibly horny guy at that age"
It's true, there were many times that Jon got kicked out of the room because Manny had someone over.
"What do you mean was? You still are"
Leave it to Jon to throw his best friend under the bus.
"I've toned down a lot"
That was very true, Manny was a bit of a manwhore.
"Because just happens to keep you busy. You don't have time to be a little whore"
Jon and I nodded agreeing to what Mel had just said.
"I can admit that if I was a girl I would not date me"
There was never a dull moment with my roommates.
"Enough about me, we were talking about Maddy. Your mom has been trying to set you up with someone"

"Would you go on a date if you knew Auston was seeing someone"
"You guys are acting as if I were waiting for him" I said.
"It kinda sounds like it Mads"
Jon nodded agreeing with Manny.
"You were the one that told me to give him a chance" I pointed out.
Manny frowned.
"That was before I knew about the Winter Break trip"
Ahh yes, the famous Winter Trip.
"I take everything back, you're too good for him"
I sighed and shrugged.
"I'm just going to let faith deal with it" I replied.
If it was meant to be, I'd go on that second date with Auston....right?
