He and his companions had been through much, but they knew that they must press on if they were to save the land that they held so dear. Caledorn hastened into far Eastern lands, where the sun was hot and the desert sand burned. Taliel and the steadfast bard traveled north, to the realm of Thranduil, where war already raged beneath the boughs of Mirkwood. The rest of the company made their way toward Esgaroth, where the dark sorceress Zaskia and the fell wraith Khamul awaited them to do battle. The company was fractured. But these fragments would meet again, even if only in passing. For soon the Defenders of Middle Earth would gather for one final battle, one that would decide the fate of all.
