Layla's P.O.V.
"Erebus be careful! You're going to hurt your leg again!" I yelled up the stairs after hearing a loud thump from his office
"Layla stop fussing over me it's been nearly a week since the accident" Erebus called down calmly
It seemed we were more of an old married couple more than young mates who had only met a few months ago... Wow only a few months, feels like a year.
"It doesn't matter how long it been since the accident, the doctor said you need to take it easy and from what I'm hearing it sounds like your not doing that" I grumbled
"It was just a stack of papers" he replied
"Sure it was" I murmured turning away from the staircase
"I heard that" he called down
I smirked devilishly looking up to the top of the stairs
"Well, I hope you can hear this..." I whispered so not even he could hear me
I cupped my hands over my mouth and yelled
"Oh look a super attractive guy! Maybe I should go meet him"
A second passed before you could hear Erebus growl harshly before hearing the wheels on his chair skid across the wood floor upstairs.
I laughed before running across the kitchen and ducking behind the recliner chair in the living room, Erebus was already halfway down the stairs by then as I peeked from behind the chair. He stormed around the corner before looking right at me
How in the heck...?
He came over to me with inhuman speed making me squeak with surprise before his arms were wrapped around me and brought me off the ground and to his chest.
"Mine!" He stated possessively looking me straight in the eye before colliding his lips to mine
Oh, maybe I went a little too far he actually seems mad...
He pulled away after awhile and I stared at him ready for a lecture of some sorts but then he smirked with satisfaction. I raised a questioning eyebrow at him, confused
"You think he's still attractive?" he asked
"Well..."
I looked around as if searching for this made up man
"He disappeared so not any more"
Erebus chuckled before pressing his forehead to mine. I giggled before putting my hands on either side of his face and giving him a small, chaste kiss before he set me down on my feet. Then, of course, the moment was ruined as soon as the front door opened and in came excited little Addison, I couldn't help but smile at her though, she was always just so sweet and caring all the time.
"Hello Hello! We have arrived!" She yipped excitedly,
In came Brandon behind looking up at us both with a smile. I returned it before looking at Addison who was rushing over to give Erebus a big hug, he hesitated before wrapping his arms around her. She let go and smiled up at him,
"Well you look just swell" she clapped her hands together once.
"I am" he replied
Brandon came over and patted Erebus on the back before retiring to his mate's side.
"Well, would you guys like to stay for dinner then?" I asked looking at them both
"I'd be fine with that, how about you dear?" Addison asked looking up at Brandon
"Of course" he replied plainly
"Great!"
Erebus looked at me already knowing what I was going to do but before he could speak I darted into the kitchen without his "permission" to cook. He followed after me quickly as I rushed to grab some things for dinner before he had the chance to stop me. As I reached up on my tiptoes to grab a can of beans two arms wrapped around my waist before dragging my seemingly weightless body out of the pantry easily.
"Nuuuu Erebus let me goo" I grumbled while squirming around in his tight embrace
"Yeah right like I'm going to let you cook when there is another Alpha here, and we agreed you would only cook for us," he said coldly
"But that was forever ago can't the rules change just this one time?" I pleaded to look up at him
"Forever ago as in less than a month ago, and no, in this case, the rules will not change" his tone meant this wasn't up for discussion.
Why couldn't he just let me cook? I loved it so much since I had to do it all the time at Alpha Michaels, it was practically one of my hobbies.
Instead of arguing more over this pointless conversation I shoved myself out of his arms more harshly then I meant to, but I was too upset to apologize. My face changed to a composed expression before exiting the kitchen and going upstairs with a determined walk, all the while having an upset Erebus following after me without saying anything in front of Addison and Brandon.
Yes, I may be being overreacting but geez is wanting to cook for my... family, such a bad thing? If anything I feel like they would really appreciate it since I'd be putting the time to cook the meal myself.
Before Erebus had the chance to touch me I stormed into the bathroom and nearly slammed the door in his face. I heard him growl out through the wooden door but instead of opening it I slouched against the now locked door on the tile floor with a small sigh. Erebus was still standing outside of the door breathing harshly as he waited for me to come out but he'd leave soon I was sure. Addison and Brandon were downstairs they must think we are so rude for just leaving them down there.
"Get the servants to cook dinner and go downstairs so Addison and Brandon can have some company," I said through the door blankly
"Then maybe you should come downstairs, because you know I'm a terrible company" his voice was to my surprise at ease and sweet
I laughed quietly before responding
"Your not terrible company"
"I'm an only good company to you darling," he said slowly
Even though I should be used to the compliments by now I still blushed at his comment
"Alright... just give me a sec-" he cut me off
"I'm sorry, I know I act ridiculous but to me having you cook is just... disrespectful to you as my mate"
He paused a second before continuing
"It just reminds me of you being a servant all those years and I... Just can't seem to deal with it. I know you enjoy it very much and I'll try to not be so crazy about it but please come out sweetheart"
Damn him and that sweet coated voice of his
I lazily got up off the ground before opening the door but I refused to look at Erebus out of embarrassment. Suddenly his arms wrapped around me in a comforting embrace and my face pressed against his shirt as I burrowed my head into his chest. He let me go before taking my hand and leading me downstairs, Addison and Brandon were talking with each other at the dinner table as we both sat down across from them. They both looked up at us before including us in the conversation
"So Erebus the rogues that were in your pack territory, are they still causing issues?" Brandon asked
"Not since the last incident, we had with them" Erebus replied
"We are having some issues with them now in are pack territory although I doubt they're the same ones that were here" his voice deepened just a little bit
"I doubt it as well," Erebus said crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair slightly
"Apparently there is a leader of the rogues that have been around here Erebus, they actually have made a pack that is designed as one of our own" Addison commented
Erebus huffed, rolling his eyes at the remark
"I doubt they actually take it seriously though, seeing that rogues are known to be disorganized and reckless" he talked about it them as if they were young children instead of a group of werewolves.... they all were a matter of factly but I wasn't going to comment on that right now.
"Well you never know," Addison said warningly
Erebus didn't reply as a few girls walked in with our food, they set the plates in front of us and I smiled at the girl who had set my plate down before thanking her. She nodded her head smiling back at me before walking back out of the room with the rest of the girls in an organized line.
The rest of the dinner we continued with small stuff about both of the packs and small issues here and there that were occurring, although there was no more talk of the rogues for the rest of the time. Addison and Brandon left accordingly after dinner, Addison gave me a big hug goodbye while Brandon had simply smiled and nodded his head which I was perfectly fine with. Soon they were out the door as Erebus and I gradually made our way upstairs to the bedroom.
"So are you worried about the rogues causing issues again?" I asked facing away from Erebus as he came out of the bathroom
He walked across the room and to his side of the bed before responding blankly
"No, I doubt they'll come back to cause any more issues"
I nodded before climbing into bed and laying down beside him, pressing my forehead to his chest. His hand swept up my back before he spoke again
"Are you worried about the rogues causing issues again?"
It could feel as if he were looking down at the top of my head with a raised eyebrow right at that moment.
"It doesn't matter what I think about this certain situation" I replied bluntly
"Yes it does, you are the Luna and your opinion does matter," he said sternly
I took a moment before replying
"I just don't want anyone to be in danger"
His hand glided up to press against the bottom of my chin to tilt my head back and look up into his dark blue orbs.
"Everyone is going to be fine" he assured
I nodded still looking up at him before he leaned his face down to press his lips to mine, the kiss became more heated than our usual ones quickly. Erebus hand went up to cup my naked thigh as I was only wearing my usual pajamas which were one of his T-shirts and my underwear. I had to pull away while panting from the hot atmosphere, Erebus eyes were glazed over with... lust and I had a feeling mine were as well as I, of course, wanted to do... things with him but was just scared of the pain it could bring but being connected with him in that way made my heart flutter. His lips brushed against my ear,
"Layla" he breathed slowly
I felt my breath stop as I waited for him to continue, his hand went a bit further up my leg.
"Please..." he pleaded desperately, I could never say no to that desperate voice just having to say no to him at any time made my heart break but especially now I just couldn't find the will to do it.
"Yes" I whispered in return
I felt his chest tighten, surprised by my response, he looked at me deeply,
"I won't hurt you" He promised
"I know you won't" I replied lowly
Without hesitation, he flipped us over so he was hovering over me and I couldn't help but let out a laugh from the suddenness as I flopped down against the bed. He chuckled in return while grabbing something out of the nightstand beside the bed, I didn't bother looking already knowing what it was and seeing it would probably make me more nervous which was not what we needed right now. His hands ran all over my body and I had never felt so close to him, at that moment I really felt like we were each other's worlds and nothing else mattered but us. His eyes stared into mine intently as he pulled down my underwear making sure to be very gentle,
"Don't be nervous my love, you are beautiful just the way you are and I will make sure tonight is perfect" he said with the sweetest voice.
"I don't doubt that."
