Prologue
I’m wearing my favorite white dress, made from lace and tulle. It looked pretty when submerged in water. I decided to wear it for that reason alone.
I could have taken the easy route, cut my wrist, shoot myself in the head, drug overdose, or maybe jump from a high building. However, I chose to drown myself in a lake, I blame it all on Nicole Kidman from The Hours.
The water in the lake was cold at first, when it made contact with my skin, but my body easily adjusted. Every step I took, it became deeper, and I don't know how to swim so drowning would be easy enough.
I couldn’t feel the ground anymore and my body is now fully submerged. I hold my breath but after a few minutes, I struggled for air.
I’m drowning.
My grasp on consciousness was slipping fast. I couldn’t scream or yell. I couldn’t move my arms or legs, anymore. It was becoming impossibly difficult to focus on anything.
I could hear a faint voice, though. I was a safe distant away from land so the voice must have been shouting.
Darkness was threatening to engulf me and after a few minutes, it did.
