"Amelia... do NOT touch that Rose!" Miss Felicity ordered whilst rushing into the classroom. By now most of the students had come in and sat at their desks. "It's just a flower, what's the harm?" I foolishly said whilst picking up the rose. Everything went black around apart from dead in front of me. It was night, a new moon in the sky. I saw the academy in flames. Ash's brother laughing at the sound of screams. Rose was on the ground in the courtyard... blood coming from her head and Chase shaking her lifeless body. And then I saw me. Unconscious at his feet. He picked me up and suddenly was surrounded by a black mass.

I blinked and it was over. I gasped. "What.. what's did I say?" I asked. My legs gave way to me and I fell to the ground. "All you said was black new moon," Rose said rushing towards me. Tears began to fall at her sight. "You're alive..."I whispered. Her face went white. "W...what did... you see?" She stuttered. I wiped my tears. "It was night, there was a new moon in the sky... the academy was on fire, there was screaming, Rose was on the floor in the courtyard," I whispered my voice horse from the thought, "she'd hit her head and she was bleeding... I don't know whether she was dead or unconscious... Chase was shaking her, Ash's brother was there..." I had to stop. I couldn't continue...

"Amelia... you must tell us exactly what happened!" Miss Felicity ordered. I shook my head. "I was lying on the floor in front of him... unconscious, he took me... he will set fire to the academy under the light of the new moon and he will take me.... there is no way to change this event, it will happen on the next new moon..." I said as tears began to fall once again. Rose hugged me tight and the class was deathly quiet. Apart from one voice. "For goodness sake... can't everyone tell she's just making all this up to get a little attention..." Cecilia laughed. I could see the rage on Miss Felicity's face.

"Cecilia Tattersall I've had quite enough of you... you're a pretentious spoilt brat, there is a threat to the academy and you laugh and say she's faking it when her precognitions have NOT been wrong yet!" Miss Felicity shouted as if telling a very naughty small child to go sit on the naughty step, "this is a warning... anymore of this and you'll be expelled!" The Queen of Hearts turned pale. She had no words to say for a change. I sighed as the bell rang. I grabbed the rose to throw in the bin but felt compelled to keep it. Why did he give me this if it would make me see that? Then it dawned on me.

"Miss Felicity I think I can change this..." I said as I turned my head, "I'm not sure how but I will change the future... I promise!" I sounded sure, I felt sure. I had to be. Otherwise Rose is dead, the academy is gone and I'm a kidnapped woman. In other words. We're all screwed... and if there's one thing I will not allow before my being kidnapped or even killed is for Rose to die. I'll beat that twat to a pulp before I will let that happen. With that thought we went off to Necromancy.

***************

Necromancy was interesting... that's one way of putting it. The room was full of skulls and was made to look dark and scary. Seriously... fair enough nobody knows how to do Necromancy but surely it's not doom and gloom like this guy was making it out to be. It turns out necromancy is both speaking to the dead as well as trying to raise them... which is a rather weird subject all in all but this guy just made it even weirder.

I swear this guy just talked about it like it was blasphemy and you could tell he didn't want to be here AT ALL. He sighed whenever a student asked a question and looked like he had a huge hangover. He went on to explain that tempestuous weather helps to raise the dead and the best time is between midnight and 1am on a full moon. The thing that got me was the fact necromancers stole clothes from dead people in graves and wore them... for some reason unknown to me because by the time this droning man got to the point I had already drifted into my own world.

I was glad for the bell to go. Surely necromancy wasn't that bad... was it? I mean I get the whole night and bad weather thing but... stealing clothes that dead people wore.... seriously? I sighed as we walked out of the class. I was exhausted. I really need to get a good nights sleep! Rose looked exhausted too. When I go to Miss Felicity's office later I must ask the doctor for some sleeping pills.

I heard a few gasps when I was walking into Magical History class. Great... what now? There hung on the wall behind our history teachers desk was the bloody painting of my mum and dad. Cecilia jumped out of her skin when she saw it. "Hello everybody, this..." the Professor said pointing at the painting, "is our topic today, everyone open there text books to page 243!" I did as I was told to find today's lesson was on... taaadaaaa... the Royal Blackwood Family! Ohhhh great...

"Errr miss.... why is there a portrait of the new girl!" Cecilia hissed. Here we go. "This is Evangeline Blackwood... the previous queen of the United Kingdom's Magical Society and her husband Theodore Blackwood the previous King before the Stanford family took over," the professor explained, "and there is a reason why Miss Blackwood looks so much like them." Great... just great. "You can't be telling me that SHE..." Cecilia groaned. "Actually it has been proven that Miss Blackwood is the only child of the previous King and Queen and legitimate heir to the throne... as she was adopted by a non magic family and only found out the other day who she actually is I thought it would be nice that she could learn about her real parents with the help of her peers," She beamed.

I am bloody screwed. I was a freak show as it was but now... now I'm going to be hated even more by Cecilia and gawked at by everyone else, well more than I am now. "The Blackwood Family had ruled the United Kingdoms Magic Society from long before we actually kept records, Evangeline Blackwood was the only child of her parents and took over the reign after she married her husband Theodore who took her name to keep the lineage," Prof Patrica continued.

"If she's like a princess why did they dump her," Cecilia scoffed, God this girl is getting on my nerves. "Because there was someone after me okay?" I shouted, getting really annoyed by her constant bothering, "and apparently he's after me now... can we please just get on with it, I don't really want to discuss about how apparently my parents died!" Everyone was silent. "They're definitely dead then?" The professor said in shock. I nodded and sighed, "Ash... the necromancer told me in my vision last night... they died at the hands of his younger brother, the man that's coming for me in the new moon."

I clutched the rose he gave me. Was it a warning, something I was supposed to see or... was it just a coincidence that I happened to pick something up from the flower. There was a commotion going on outside of the class room. Professor Henry barged into the room and said, "the king is here... we need to get Amelia out of here now!" He was all flustered and gently grabbed my wrist to get me up. Rose and Chase followed quickly. I was whisked off with them, I wasn't sure why he was so eager to get me away but I was sure that I didn't want to meet Chase's father today.

We were in the main hall near Miss Felicity's office when we were spotted. "Chase," a man's voice said, "son, I wasn't expecting to see you out of class!" We turned around to see a man that was definitely an older version of Chase. Professor Henry quickly tried to shuffle me behind him. "Your Majesty, he was just escorting these two girls who aren't feeling too well with me to the infirmary," He said, trying to avoid him seeing me, "if you would excuse us... I am particularly worried about them and they need to be checked."

"It is strange to see girls of this academy with such peculiar hair colours... I thought it was against the rules," the King laughed. "It's.. the colour our hair was before we came... your majesty," Rose stuttered and gave a little curtsy. "No need for formalities dear... go and get yourselves check out, I must say you're very pale," He said sounding quite pleased. Prof H didn't let him in my sight and rushed us both off to the infirmary. I let out a sigh of relief as the door was closed.

"That was a close one," I breathed, "why didn't you want him to see me?" The professor sat down on one of the beds and replied, "we were worried that he may not be very nice to you or that he may take you away for interrogation... with the fact that you have no parents, even though you are old enough to not need them, Miss Felicity is basically your legal guardian and has say in who can see you or where you go and she knows it's not in your best interest to see him just yet." I felt ridiculously annoyed and frustrated by all of this... what the hell!!!

                         ******************

"So then Chase, this girl is in your class is she?" The king enquired, "just who is she, what is she like?" Chase scowled at his father, he only ever wanted to speak to Chase when there was something he wanted to know. Other than that the 'great' king was never interested in his youngest son. "Her name is Amelia Blackwood and her talent is exceptional," Miss Felicity interrupted, "she scored over a thousand in the test and has the gift of divination like her mother did before her." The king turned to face her and looked very interested.

"I would very much like to meet this girl straight away," he ordered. "I believe that it is in her best interest to stay away for now," Miss Felicity explained. The king's eyes lit with rage, "you dare defy your king?" His true colours beginning to show, the very thing Miss Felicity was trying to protect Amelia from. "Begging your pardon sir however," Miss Felicity said blankly staring at the fraud in front of her, "the girls adoptive parents memories have been wiped somehow, they have no recollection of her causing her to have no legal guardian... I have already accepted the duty, even if she is legally an adult in the normal world you know yourself your majesty that until she has finished her two years in the academy she is not an adult by our standards."

The king scowled in disappointment. He will see this girl today whether the headmistress liked it or not....
