Rose:
I woke up that morning with the sun shining through my window. It was beautiful weather, and I was ready for it. I had been going to Bonnie's every weekend for about three months, I had geared up to do this spell. The only question I had, that Bonnie refused to answer, was what the spell did. She kept assuring me it wouldn't harm a single person, but I couldn't trust her if she wouldn't tell me. I felt alone now, because dad got engaged to Rachel, who turned out to be a bitch. I hope some how he realizes she's after his money, because I don't want this, no pun intended, witch, to be my mother.
My mother..I kept repeating that word to myself. I never met her. In fact, dad doesn't even remember her, and he has excellent memory. He told me that she most likely died, and he probably shut off the part of her his brain knew. But, mother or not, Rachel isn't fit. She's like, twenty-four. That isn't right, she was eleven when I was born. I don't want her being my mother.
I was at Bonnie and Enzo's so I decided to get up and ask, hopefully for the final time, what the spell was for. I made my way into the living room, where they were both drinking coffee and reading. "Bonnie?" I said, getting scared the instant they both looked up at me. "I won't do this spell, unless you tell me this instant what it does." Bonnie looked to Enzo, curiosity filled my little head. They were talking through eye contact, and I couldn't understand what they were saying. Finally, the silence broke, and she turned her head back to me. "Your mother. She put a spell on your dad, your grandparents, and Jamilla, who is your aunt. This spell brings her back, because she gave her life up for Carol, your grandma. You can't tell anyone, because 1) you're doing the spell tonight, and 2) they won't believe you." My mouth was wide open, I was shocked at what she had just told me. "You knew my mother?" I said, addressing both of them now. Enzo smiled at me, "We did. You look just like her, and you have her stubbornness, her bravery, and her magic." Her magic. I let that thought dwell for a few moments. "Explain why she left me?" I asked. They did it again, talked using their eyes. Enzo looked at me, and he got up and left. I figured this was stressing him out.
I sat in the chair, facing toward Bonnie. "Your mother wanted your dad to see his mother again. She made a spell, allowing your fanily to forget her, so that they didn't have to waste time mourning her or waiting for her return. Your mother was born to be a powerful witch, so she made you even more powerful. You, obviously know, you're a vampire, a witch, and a human. You're her key to unlocking the spell. She said Carol had until she was ninety to live, after that, she would pass on, and your mother would return. However, your mother didn't actually want Carol to live that long, which is why you're a witch. She wants you to bring her back, before Carol dies. It took me forever to put this puzzle together, but she wouldn't come back after Carol died, she would remain dead as well. Your dad would remember her perfectly, along with everyone else, but they wouldn't be able to do anything. That's why we need to do this tonight. She doesn't want to come back, she had something that made her want to leave us, and so she put this plan together, hoping I would listen and bring her back after Carol died, only to realize she wouldn't come back." Bonnie just said a lot of gibberish, and I blanked out through most of it, but, if this is true, I want to bring her back.
"What was her weakness?" I asked, hoping Bonnie knew. "I need you to stay here one more night, Rosalie." Bonnie said, as her voice trembled with fear. "Your mother's fear, she sensed it several years back, when you were so small. Before she had you, she burnt a house down, a lady named Katherine Pierce was inside. Katherine is not good, and she knew that moment Katherine died, she'd be back. And she is, she is inside Rachel. Rachel, you can't trust her. She'll try to kill you, because you're the only one who can kill her, other than your mother." My body had filled itself with fear. I knew something was off the moment she started being way too nice to me. I knew what I had to do, and when. "I'll do whatever I need to." I said, agreeing with Bonnie. She nodded and left the room, probably to tell Enzo something. I didn't mind, I just sat in the room alone, looking at all the beautiful paintings they had hanging on the walls.
Bonnie:
I told Enzo everything. Of course he was mad, I wasn't supposed to tell her what I had figured out, but Alyssa left me to look out for everyone, so I have to do this spell. Katherine won't stop until Rosalie is dead. I had to tell Rosalie about everything, because it was the only way to get her to actually do the spell. I remember being a young witch, I couldn't do anything, unless I felt that pain or happiness, then I could do it. Rosalie will feel determination, which will be her motivation to bring Alyssa back. We needed to do this tonight, and as much as it pained me, Carol needed to die. I'm sorry Carol. I think, the best thing about this is that when Alyssa is back, her powers will return to her, leaving Rosalie as a human, or a vampire? I'm not sure, but she won't be a witch. I don't trust her as a witch.
I texted Carol, asking her if she would come over and help me with the Miss Mystic Falls crap, which I am not even in charge of, but she won't know that. She agreed to come, and I prepared everything for the sacrifice. We got Alyssa's body, the cup, and we just need Carol's blood, which is why Enzo is here, in case I need his help. I got Rosalie ready, "one of us needs to slit her neck, or rip her heart out, or something." I said, looking to Enzo. He raised his eyebrows. "I can do that, if that's what this spell requires. "I need you to rip her heart out, and give it to Rosalie." I told him, Rosalie's face turned pale. "What? Why do I need her heart? That's gross." She replied. This is why she can't be a witch. Witches hold hearts because they need too. "You need her heart for two reasons, one, it draws the life from Carol, into Alyssa. So you need to hold it above Alyssa when you say the spell. And second, you need the heart because it will bring you more power doing the spell. Alone, this spell would kill you. But, because Alyssa brought Carol back, her power is linked into the heart, therefore making it a perfect use for power." Rosalie smiled, a fake smile of course. "Got it. Where's Carol?" I realized the time, and noticed Carol still wasn't here. She's ten minutes late, which is rare.
There was the sound of two feet, making their way into our back yard. I looked at Enzo, he had to do this the second he saw her, if she saw Alyssa's dead body, she'd take off and run into the public eye. We waited for her to round the corner, and Enzo charged. Her heart was in Rosalie's hands two flashes later. She held the heart above Alyssa, and shut her eyes. She began speaking the spell, exactly the way I taught her, and when it was over, we waited. "Did I mess something up?" Rosalie asked, a bit scared. "Why isn't she waking up?" She continued, now getting furious. Enzo and I said nothing, we just watched. We've experienced the return of dead one's many times, and we knew how the process went. My phone rang; it was Stefan.
"Stefan?" I asked, answering the phone.
"Where is she? Where's Alyssa?" He asked.
Before I could answer, a body flung up, and Rosalie knew immediately it was her mother. I couldn't help but cry, happy tears of course. They were hugging, for the first time since Rose was about four.
"She's here. She's alive. Bring everyone." I responded to Stefan, then ended the call.
"Alyssa!" I said, running over to her.
She was crying. Actual tears. I wasn't sure if it was because Rosalie was fourteen, or if it was because she was back.
"Bonnie." She said, smiling at me. "Thank..thank you." She reached over and gave me a hug, then Enzo one too. She noticed Carol's body, the heart was gone. Her eyes filled with tears.
"You killed her?" She asked, now adding anger to her once happy voice.
"We had too, Alyssa. She's back." I said. Her anger calmed into relief.
"Where is she?" Alyssa asked, ready to take Katherine out.
All of a sudden, Tyler and Rachel showed up. Kol, with Jamilla and Cecila, Elijah, Stefan and Elena. They all were there, and immediately, Alyssa knew where Katherine was.
"Get away from my boyfriend, you bitch." She said, charging toward Rachel. Within two seconds, she did what none of us could do. There was a knife in Rachel's stomach, which released Katherine's spirit. Rachel came back to life, as Rachel. Unfortunately, Tyler had fallen in love with Rachel, and Alyssa could sense that.
"Tyler. You're happy with her?" She asked, trying not to stutter between words. He nodded his head. "I am sorry." He replied. Alyssa's eyes filled with water, and she ran.
Rachel was confused, and she had every right to be, her body was taken over by an old bitch. Tyler decided to leave taking Rachel, and Rosalie home. Elijah, Kol, Cecila, Jamilla, Stefan, Elena, Enzo and I all went out to look for Alyssa.
"I know where she could be, but we should all split up. Kol, you go with Elijah, Mom, you go with dad, Enzo, you go with Bonnie, and I'll bring Cecila with me. We will call each other when we've searched a place, so others don't go there looking, and if anyone finds her, we also call." I said, and we all split up to find Alyssa.
