Becca's P.O.V.

I was currently in a deserted meadow that housed beautiful flowers. The morning sun was just beginning to rise and I wasn't sure what to do now.

It took me a while to find Dana, but the Beta and I found her dead, lifeless body that had signs of a vampire taking her life. I've been quiet to everyone since then, not speaking or uttering a single sound or word.

My brother has finally snapped and went back to work on his Alpha duties while his little mate is furious about that. I smiled while thinking that for now my brother is back on track where he should be. It just took him the loss of a wolf pup to snap him out of whatever spell his mate had on him.

I was currently on a hill, overseeing the whole meadow and only wished that Dana had never left because of that horrid woman. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think that my brother is actually mad at her, but I can't tell because he fights with his wolf constantly.

He actually pulled me aside last night and told me what his wolf was saying. As much as his wolf wanted his mate, he didn't at the same time. I only listened, not uttering a word because I was still mourning over Dana and Lesia was still in tears about the loss of her only friend that was her age.

The sun shined brighter for a second and I had to cover my eyes from the brightness. Looking at the meadow again I noticed that there was a pale body with a blue dress on. Getting up, I walked over towards the body, confused on when the person got here and what they were doing here.

I gasped when I noticed that it was Hazel laying in the tall grass. I knelled down next to her and quickly checked her forehead to see if anything was wrong with her. As soon as the back of my hand touched her forehead, she groaned and started moving.

Her eyes widened in pure shock when she finally took me in before taking a look at her surroundings. She tried to open her mouth and ask me something, but no words came out of her mouth and she started frowning.

"You're in pack territory, don't worry, you're safe here," I croaked out considering it was one of the first words leaving my mouth after a good four days. I could feel fresh tears coming to my eyes again.

Her eyes seemed to widen in horror just a tiny bit before she started looking around again. Her eyes seemed to zone in on the forest that was a good five miles away from where we currently were.

"Hazel, you're fine," I whispered while placing my hand on her shoulder. She frowned at me while trying to speak again, and yet there was still nothing coming out of her mouth except air.

She tried slowly to say one word, and it wasn't the best because I am horrible at reading lips. It took about a minute before I understood that she was trying to ask how.

"I'm not sure, I've been here for a good twenty minutes before I saw something blue in the meadow. I came down to investigate and found you here passed out," I explained to her. She threw me a confused look while trying to think about something.

I could feel new tears appearing while thinking about the last time I saw Hazel and she was with Dana and Lesia, right before Dana ran away from the pack territory. Hazel threw me a worried look as I started to cry.

I shook my head while whipping the tears from my now red eyes before saying, "Dana ran away because of my brothers mate a-a-and n-now s-she's d-d-d-d-dead." My cries turned into sobs at seeing all the blood in the forest along with the smell of vampire that was faint in the air.

"W-we were too late to save her," I whispered while clutching my knees to my chest, having a hard time breathing again. I haven't been the same ever since I found all of that in the forest. My brother doesn't even know that I have trouble breathing. The only thing that he knows is that Dana went missing, no one found anything in the forest except me.

I didn't dare look up at Hazel until I felt something on my shoulder. Looking up I saw her sitting right next to me, trying to speak slowly but it was no use.

I shook my head no at her before saying, "I have no clue what you're trying to say." She started rubbing my back with her one hand while looking sad about something. When I looked up again she was pointing to herself. I threw her a curious look again.

"You?" I questioned, unsure of where she was going with this. She tried saying one word slowly and it took me another five minutes to understand what she was saying. "Have?" I questioned again.

She smiled again before trying to spell in the dirt the last word. My eyes widened when I saw the letters D A N A.

"You have Dana?" I questioned. My eyes widened and for once I started to have hope in my heart. As soon as the image of Hazel holding Dana came into my mind, it was instantly replaced with the smell of vampire and the sight of Dana's blood covering the forest floor.

Tears started flowing out of my eyes while remembering her lifeless body. I clutched my head with my hands, thinking that it's too much for me mentally and physically.

"Becca?" I heard someone ask in a worried tone. I knew it was the Beta of the pack, looking for me and making sure that I was ok. I looked towards Hazel to see her with a worried look on her face.

Hazel quickly hid back in the tall grass while I called for her. I felt the Beta touch my shoulder and instantly looked at him before looking back at where Hazel was. Hazel had somehow disappeared again.

"What's wrong Becca?" he questioned me. I tried looking around for any sight of Hazel or the blue dress that she was in, but I found nothing.

"Hazel, she was just here, I swear," I told the Beta, but he only shook his head at me.

"Becca, no one has seen this Hazel girl, only you have. Your brother is doing fine now, but no one knows how long he'll continue working until he runs back to his mate. If something happens and your brother can't be Alpha anymore, then you're going to need to step in for him and take over," the Beta explained to me. We've had this talk too many times for me to understand what he was saying to me.

"Lesia and Dana have seen her too. Hazel is real," I tried stretching, but he wasn't having any of it. He gave me a stern look and I know that he was right. I have to stop saying anything related to Hazel. The pack thinks that I'm starting to go crazy when I first mentioned her.

The Beta has never seen her and doesn't even know what she looks like. At the water, all he said he saw me doing was going in and drowning myself, but I told him that never happened and Hazel was really in trouble.

I looked at the ground, unsure of what to think anymore. I wasn't sure if I was really loosing it or if Hazel was real in my mind. I clutched my head as the grass around me started to become fuzzy. I felt the Beta catch me as I fell before I ended up blacking out.

Hazel's P.O.V.

I groaned while opening my eyes, unsure of where I was. I was on a bed and in a room by myself. I kept my guard up while reaching for my belt that was still on me. I felt eyes on me and held my knife in front of me.

The door suddenly opened from in front of me while I felt a presence ready to jump at me from behind. I quickly threw my knife at the door and turned, ready to fight whatever was going to attack me.

I ended up catching Dana in my arms while I heard a thud on the ground. Looking up, I saw Paxton lying on the floor before I heard a crash sound, unsure of what my target had hit.

"Where are we?" I questioned Paxton, unsure of where we were, it wasn't our home, that was for sure.

"After everyone got us, they quickly dragged us to the closes place they could bring it us that would be safe. So we're in an apartment," Paxton explained while getting up from the ground.

"So, we're living amongst humans now?" I questioned, unsure if we were really going through with the plan. I got up from the ground while Dana clutched onto me.

"For the mean time, yes. So that means our weapons can't be seen in the apartment or outside of it either, and no pulling it out in front of any wandering eyes," Paxton explained to me.

"Too late, Hazel hit a vase!" we heard my aunt yell. I looked outside the room to see my mother picking up the glass and throwing it in the trash can.

"What about all the weapons and training room back home?" I questioned her while walking out of the room and into the kitchen.

"Locked away and secured, no one will find it or break into it," my uncle said while coming out of a different room.

"Oh and your parents and siblings are right next door to us, your siblings don't know how to properly wake you up though so we placed you in our spare room," my aunt explained to me. I shook my head a little while trying to think about everything that has been going on, it all has to be connected in a way, but I'm unsure of how.

"How different is the human world from ours?" I questioned, unsure since hunters usually live out in the forest and not amongst humans. If we have to survive, then we'll hide amongst humans, but since I've never had to before, I'm unsure of what I should and shouldn't do.

"Not sure, most hunters stay in the forest and save humans when need to, but very few actually live in their world, and when they do, we lose contact with them," my aunt explained.

"We're still in contact with everyone else that went into hiding, right?" I questioned, scared that if a big war was to break out then we would need every hunter out in the world.

"As far as we know, everyone is in hiding and on stand by," my uncle explained while handing me a clear ear piece. My aunt pulled her hair back and showed me the clear ear piece that she was wearing. My uncle then handed me a small black square box.

"The ear piece is connected to this," my aunt said while pointing to the box and placing it on my hip, "it reaches farther out than our last communication device and this device also does not hook up with anything in the human world. Nothing from their world has the technology to touch or hack into this, we're evolving to become stronger and better."

I put the ear piece on my ear and I barely felt it there. Dana gave me a strange look while wrapping her arms around my neck.

"What are we doing about Dana?" I questioned while she laid her face on my shoulder. She yawned and started closing her eyes while I just held her in my arms.

"She'll have to stay here with us. The neighbors saw us bring her in and we can't risk taking her back after that witch that attacked. If her eyes were as black as Paxton was saying then we're up against something stronger than we've ever faced before," my uncle explained.

I went to open my mouth when all of a sudden the doorbell rang. I placed Dana on the couch while Paxton started walking closer towards the door. I kept my hands on my belt, but didn't actually grab any of my weapons since this is not the forest anymore. Paxton opened the door and a man and woman were smiling at us while holding something that smelled sweet in their hands.

"Hi, we wanted to introduce you and welcome you. We made you this apple pie," the lady explained while handing us the apple pie. My uncle pushed his way through to the front to introduce himself.

"Hello, thank you for the pie, you didn't have to make it for us," my uncle replied while shaking both of their hands.

"Mommy?" a voice said while everyone heard footsteps. We all turned around to see that Dana was walking over towards us, and my aunt tried to pick her up, but she came right to me and lifted her hands up.

I picked her up before looking back at our new neighbors and they both looked at me horrified. I had no understanding of what I did wrong, in our world it was normal if someone had a child at a young age, it kept the population strong and would ensure that we wouldn't die out.

"We'll let you guys get settled, enjoy your day," the guy said before pulling his wife away from the door and into their own home. I gave them a curious look before Paxton shut the door and we all walked away, unsure of how different the human world was from the one we've always lived in.
