A few minutes later the plane touched down in Phoenix Arizona. Kristen was whimpering against Robert's chest and he was doing all he could to comfort her but he knew she wouldn't completely calm down until it was confirmed the baby was indeed alright. But a little part of him couldn't help but worry that it might not be the case. He knew that If they had lost the baby that he would lose Kristen mentally.
When the plane landed Rob helped Kristen up and kept his arm around her as they got off. Everyone else went to do some shopping or hang around the airport as Rob and Kristen headed to the hospital.
Banner university community hospital was the closest to the airport. Bill had already called ahead to let them know that Kristen was coming in. The ride to the hospital was painful. Rob had to watch helplessly as Kristen clung to him for dear life as she shook. He couldn't imagine what was going through her head and didn't think he wanted to know.
Arriving at the hospital finally, Rob scooped Kristen up and carried her in. All heads turned in their direction. People were whispering and Rob wanted to yell at them to shut up but kept his cool for Kristen's sake.
"How may I help you?" The smiling lady at the front desk asked as Robert approached with Kristen. He cringed at the women's smile, how could she be so happy?
"Bill Condon said he called to let you know we were coming in," Rob said quietly
She looked at the computer. "Ahh yes, right this way." Rob followed the lady through a set of double doors, there were rooms lined up with glass doors and windows. It looked like something out of a horror movie.
The nurse turned into a room and Rob laid Kristen on the bed. As he went to pull away Kristen clung onto his shirt. "Please stay" she whimpered.
"I'm not going anywhere love" he whispered as he kissed her forehead. Placing himself on the bed next to her, he took her hand into his
"It's going to be alright"
"I hope so...." Kristen was trying to breathe. To calm herself, the cramps were still coming but they were not as intense as they had been.
A doctor came in and got the accounts of what happened from Kristen. She had a hard time speaking and would often have to have Rob talk for her.
"Ok, miss Stewart, let's see what's going on alright."
She whimpered and nodded her head. The doctor left the room and came back with an ultrasound machine.
"This might be a little cold" the doctor kindly said. Kristen honestly didn't care, she had more important things to worry about than gel being cold. She turned back to Rob and was about to speak when she heard a familiar sound.
"Hear that? Nice and strong" the doctor said. The sound of their baby's heartbeat filled the room. Rob let out a sigh of relief as Kristen started crying again but this time it was out of happiness. Their baby was alive, she could finally breathe again.
"We are going to do a pelvic exam alright Kristen?"
Kristen nodded her head. Please get into birthing position, She did what she was told as the doctor started the exam. Kristen cried out and buried her head into Robert's chest as he whispered to her.
When the exam was over the doctor stepped out.
"That was fucking painful," Kristen said. Robert couldn't help but laugh. If she thought this was painful, just wait a few more months. The doctor came back in a few minutes later.
"Kristen, it looks like you have Cervical Polyps."
"What is that?"
"They are growths that are often caused by estrogen levels or clogged vessels."
"Will the baby be ok?" Kristen asked worriedly
"This very rarely results in miscarriage Kristen. We will do a simple outpatient procedure to remove them and then you will need to rest for a couple days after the procedure."
"Will we be able to fly? We were on our way to Rio for filming" Kristen asked
"Yes, you can just please be careful. We will be able to get you in for the procedure in a couple hours" the doctor smiled
"Ok, thank you, doc," rob said. They shook hands and the doctor stepped out. Rob turned back to Kristen, "how are you feeling?"
"Still sore but it's ok. I'm just very relieved right now. I kept thinking the worst."
"Me too Kris, I'm so glad our baby is ok"
"Me too, I already love this baby so much."
"I love you both" Rob whispered.
The nurse came in and handed Kristen a cup with some painkillers in it. "These will help with any discomfort you may feel after the procedure."
Kristen took the pills. "Could you explain more about the procedure to me?"
"Sure, you will be under local anesthetic which means you will be awake during the procedure but unaware or anything. The doctor passes the hysteroscope through your cervix into the uterus. The hysteroscope is connected to a camera and a TV monitor, which show the inside of your uterus. Some gas or fluid may be pumped into your uterus to make it swell a little. This makes it easier to see the lining of your uterus. the doctor may take a tiny piece of tissue (biopsy) from your uterus. This will be sent to the laboratory for examination under the microscope. Sometimes small lumps (polyps) are found. It may be possible to remove these during the test. After the procedure is completed the hysteroscope will be gently removed."
"Alright." The nurse smiled and left.
"I'm going to call Bill and give them an update," Rob said as he kissed Kristen's cheek and made his way out of the room.

It was now time for the procedure. The nurse came in and administered the anesthetic into Kristen's iv and almost immediately, it started to take effect. Robert thought by the end of this he would be thoroughly traumatized, halfway through he couldn't help but record Kristen. Kristen on local anesthetic was pretty hilarious.
Kristen talked about a whole spectrum of things. Anything from her marrying her mother to cats taking over the world to their baby actually being a vampire. This was all very amusing to Robert and after the day they had had, he needed the laugh. When the doctor was done with the procedure that only took about 10 minutes, he turned to Robert
"Everything went great, I will send a sample down to the lab. You guys may leave after she's not high anymore" he laughed.
"Thank you," Rob laughed. The doctor left and Rob looked at Kristen who was talking to herself. He went to texting Bill to let him know that Kristen and the baby were alright. Well, essentially. At the moment Kristen was more than alright. He noticed out of the corner of his eye that Kristen was getting off the bed and he knew that wasn't a good idea. Sliding his phone back into his pocket he went over to her
"Kristen hun lay down. You cannot be up right now."
"Why? I feel fine" Kristen whined. "Why is there a monkey over there?" She casually asked. Rob started laughing
"Ok, you are not fine, please lay down."
"But I don't want to lay down," Kristen stated
"Ok," he climbed onto the bed behind her and pulled her into him so she was leaning against his chest. The last thing he wanted to have happened was her to be restrained. But Kristen was in no condition to be up and walking unless she was supposed to walk into everything or not a straight line.
Kristen calmed down at contact with him. Even in her drugged state, his body contact with her still calmed her down. Rubbing circles onto Kristen's back she slowly fell asleep against him. He slowly laid down and let her curl herself on top of him.

Waking up a couple hours later Kristen felt like a truck had run over her. Her body was sore and she didn't remember most of what happened. She woke up with the feeling of a warm familiar breathe hitting the top of her head. She slowly sat up.
"Hey love" Rob whispered
"Hey, how did it go?"
"Good, everything looks good. they were able to remove everything." Robert laughed, thinking back to Kristen's state.
"What's so funny?" Kristen asked.
Robert pulled his phone out and showed her the video. Kristen was horrified.
"Oh my god!" Kristen exclaimed, "that is embarrassing."
"I thought it was pretty hilarious and yes we are showing the cast."
"Ugh," Kristen grumbled.
After they had the ok to go, Kristen and Rob headed back to the airport. Upon arriving, Nikki got up and hugged her friend
"How are you, sweetheart?"
"We are both fine, thankfully it wasn't a miscarriage. I'll explain it later when everyone is here."
Almost an hour later, they were all on the plane heading to Rio. After the day they had, Kristen and Rob were happy to be on an airplane
