Sarah's pov
After a couple of days Murphy was still paranoid after being kidnapped.So obviously the princess made us pull over to "get rid of all his paranoia".I just think he's being lazy and the car isn't comfortable enough for him.And well Cassandra needs it to,her leg is getting more and more infected as we travel.
"How you holding up"I asked Cassandra as she held her leg and had a look of pain
"I've been better"She said and Doc came back with a wet towel
"Warren"I said and signaled her out of the room.I waited till we were both out of war shot
"Hate to be the Debbie downer but She's not gonna make it,well at least not to California"I whispered
"Ya,ya I know"She said in deep thought
"And we can't just let her turn while she's with us,that could be dangerous.We could lose you,or Doc,especially 10k"I said,they were both pretty close,10k basically carried her the whole time she's been like that.I helped along the way too
"What about you"She said wondering why I hadn't said my name
"Because no offense but unlike you guys I'd be able to put her down without feeling a certain way of remorse"I said and she raised her eyebrow
"I mean not like that,she's my friend but once she comes for brains,that is no longer my friend,no longer our friend"I said and she sighed
"We just can't leave her here"She said and I nodded
"I know,how bout me and 10k go scout up ahead and look for food,ammo,and medical supplies for her"I said and she thought again
"Ya well that is a good ideas but remember what happened last time when a couple went ahead"She said referring to Mack and Addy.I ignored the fact that she called me and 10k a couple
"We'll be fine,we have each other.And we'll come straight back if we think anything seems fishy"I said and she gave in
"Ok,fine.Let 10k know and then we'll load you guys up"She said and we walked back into the room
"Hey Doc where's 10k"I asked
"Probably resting in one of the rooms"He said and I nodded and went upstairs looking through the room.
I had finally found him laying on his back with a pistol in his hand and his sniper in the other,I smiled at how cute he looked.I jumped on the bed startling him and made him shoot a bullet,grazing my cheek
"Fuck,10k"I said as I held where the bullet had grazed
"S-Sarah I didn't know-I'm s-sorry"He said quickly and I wiped the small amount of blood that he had made
"It's fine,but I came to tell you that we're leaving"I said and helped him get up
"Leaving"He questioned
"You and I are going to scout ahead to look for supplies"I said and he nodded and we headed downstairs
"Warren were ready"I said and she nodded and lead us outside
"Well I manger to fix up a motorcycle an dlucky You it did have gas,just enough for you two to go into town and come back.Well give you an hour,if your not back by then,then we'll have to go...without you"She said and I looked at 10k and he gulped
"Aye aye captain"I said and hopped on the front of the motorcycle while 10k got in the back
"Don't know how to ride one"I asked and he shook his head
"Well just hold on and enjoy the ride"I said and sped off away from the house as 10k clung onto me
I stopped the bike in front of the Target that had Z's roaming around it.10k got off and helped me off
"How do you wanna do this"He asked and it wasn't the right time to think about it but I noticed how open he was with me and no one else,well besides Doc
"Sarah"He said and I shook my head and got back into reality
"Just go in,look around,kill when needed and get the hell out"I said and he nodded as we walked towards it.I made sure my gun was still strapped to my thigh and ankle
We walked inside and seen Z's walking around aimlessly.One ran towards us and I piked it.
"Let's do this quietly,no guns"I said and he sighed before taking out his slingshot.I put my guns away and took out my brass knuckles that had sharp knife ends and spikes
But it was hard to tip toe around like twenty Z's,so of course we got noticed.We were running in and out of aisles dodging and weaving.We finally found the restroom and went inside blocking the door,which was hard.I let 10k hold it while I lock the door and get something to put in the handles,a broom.
"10k let's go we can go through the vents"I said and hopped on the sink.But then a Z emerged from one of the stalls and I quickly sunk my brass knuckles in its head.I watched as 10k got on the sink too and punched out the vent
"Go"He said and lifted me up so I was tall enough to reach it.I heard the broom crack and I realized I need to hurry the hell up.I used all strength and lifted myself up.I reached my hand out to 10k and he grabbed it and used all my strength to pull him up without falling.When he was half way the door gave way.He held my hand as he used the other to pull himself up as Z's began to claw at his feet.We had both finally made it up safely and we were breathing heavy
"Let's keep going"I said and he nodded as we climbed through the vents
"I swear if there's rats,I'll throw myself to the Z's"I said and he laughed but stopped when he realized I was serious
"Ok this looks like we can drop here and maybe land on a shelf"He said and I looked down and seen a shelf
"That looks like I could break my leg"I said but took out the vent so my legs were dangling
"I'll go first,and then I'll try to catch you"He said and moved me out the way.He took a deep breath before jumping and landed on his side on the shelf.He quickly looked around to see if he attracted any Z's.When it was clear he ushered me down
I quickly let go of the inside and fell into a pair of arms,but we still managed to fall on the shelf.We both quickly jumped down and walked to the food sections
"Ok let's do this quick,we have like forty minutes"I said and he nodded.
When we were looking around for canned food and medicine a Z came at me,he was wearing custom designed Nirvana shirt.I only seen that on one person.
"Michael"I said and the Z tackled me to the ground I didn't bother wrestling it because 10k had killed it
"Hey you okay"10k asked but all I did was lift up his shirt to see if he had the tattoo that was above his hip bone.There was no 'Sarah ♥️'
But I my mind wandered to his back and there's was no black rose tattoo.It wasn't him.I didn't know if I was happy or sad,I didn't want to see him yet if he was a Z it would hurt
"Sarah"He said but I had already zoned out
~Flashback~
"Michael"I giggled."Where the hell are we going"I said in between laughs
"Just follow me.You trust me right"He asked
"Of course"I said without a second thought as we hopped on his motorcycle and drove off
"A tattoo parlor"I said and he nodded.I knew he already has like three tattoos
"Ya c'mon"He said and grabbed my hand as he led me through the parking lot and into the parlor
"Hey Donavan,long time no see"A man with tattoos all over his body and piercings on his face 'bro hugged' Michael
"Ya came to get two tattoos"He said
"And who's this lovely lady"He said and smiled at me
"This is Sarah"He said and the man shook my hand
"Well come on back and I'll get you set up"He said and Michael looked back at me
"Stay here,I'll be done soon"He said and I nodded as he gave me a kiss and walked away.I looked at the wall that were painted black and had neon signs hanging.I grabbed the book on the table and looked through the tattoos.
"Excuse me do you need any help"A women asked and I shook my head but then thought about it.What if I got something?
"Actually,I was wondering about a piercing and maybe a tattoo"I said and she eyed me up and down
"And how old are you"She asked
"Seventeen"I answered and showed her my fake ID
"Ok let's go"She barely looked at it
She led me into a room that had the tattoo guns and piercing guns.
"Where would you like your piercing"She said and I pointed to my belly button.I expected it to hurt but I barely felt anything
"Ok pick your piercing"She said and I chose one that looked like a diamond that was dangling
"Ok what tattoo where you thinking"She said and I told her what three I wanted
In the middle of my second one Michael burst through the door
"Baby what are you doing"He asked as he looked at me and back at the lady
"Getting tattoos"I answered as if it wa a the most obvious thing
"Why"He asked and sat next to me holding my hand
"Because I always wanted one"I shrugged and let her control with my tattoos
Once we were done she wrapped all three and Michael payed,which he didn't mind
"What you get"He asked me and I showed him my three designs
I had "Destroy What Destroys You" on my left arm above my elbow
The words "Fight Off Your Demons" over my right wrist and over my scars
And a small airplane because Michael and I promised we would go see the world one day.
He looked at me and gave me a deep kiss.And hugged me,he knew what they meant.
"My love,you will be okay,I promise you that.I will always be by your side"He said and I kissed him
"What did you get"I asked he pulled down his shirt and I seen a black rose
"You love black roses,their your favorites"He said and I nodded and he then pulled up his shirt and I seen 'Sarah ♥️'
I smiled and kissed him again and ran my fingers over it softly
"I love you Sarah Nicole Gilbert"He said
"I love you Michael James Donavan"I said and he kissed me again
~End of Flashback~
"Sarah,we need to go"A voice said and was tugging on my hand to get me off the floor.I then realized that a lot of Z's were coming
I quickly jumped up and grabbed his hand and ran out of the store.I was to busy in my thoughts to realize 10k had got bandage wraps,and two cans of food.When I tried starting the motorcycle it wouldn't starts.
"We need to run"I said and we both ran down the path that we came on,trying to get away from the Z's
We've been walking for at least ten minutes and we lost all of them
"What happened in there,you completely zoned out"10k said and I sighed
"I thought,I thought it was him.It reminded me of him"I said and he nodded his head
"Did you love him"He asked.Duh.
"I wanted to marry him"I said and scoffed
"No matter how many times I got in trouble or got in fights because of him,I always found my way back to him.Thats what love is"I said
"You know technically Sarah isn't my real name,neither is Gilbert"I said and he looked shocked
"What is it?Why'd you change it"He asked
"I couldn't hold onto the hope that my parent a would come to me,it was to many memories.Or should I say not enough.So I told all my foster families that my name was Sarah Gilbert and not to mind the system.And my original name is Olivia Jones"I said and
"I like both of your names"He said and I smiled
"What's your real name"I asked and he sighed
"You can't tell anyone"He warned and I nodded
"Scouts honor"I said holding up three fingers making us laugh
"Tommy"He said shyly and I smiled
"I like the name Tommy"I said and pushed him up against a car and kissed him
"Would it be a bad time to tell you I want you to be my girlfriend"He asked and then a blush crept across his cheeks
"I-uh I s-swear It just c-came-"But I cut him off with another kiss
"I'd said I'd be honored to be your girlfriend,even in this fucked Up world"I said and shot a Z that was walking towards us
"Good"He breathed and kissed me again
"We need to hurry we only have like fifteen minutes left"I said and we both took off running towards the direction of the house
As we curbed the corner of the street where the rest of the group was and we ran down it to see everyone in the truck besides Doc and Warren half in and half out.
"We're here,we're here"I said out of breath and they all sighed in relief
"Get in,still got a long way to California"Warren said and me and 10k hopped in in the truck.
I leaned my head on my boyfriend's shoulder and watched the scenery fly by
