It was just another ordinary spring day with the sunny sky and warm blowing of the breeze, but maybe not as ordinary as it used to be. Before the first afternoon class, Seulgi was surprised to see Jimin walking towards the chair beside her instead of his usual place one seat away from hers. Even though she wanted to find out why he suddenly decided to change seats, she couldn't because he wouldn't spare one glance to her direction at all.
The students around them took notice of this especially Kei, a girl who was always more than happy to be seated between Jimin and Seulgi. This time it was different, she sat where Jimin used to, trying hard not to stare at the two. Seulgi, to her was an interesting subject. At one point, Kei thought of her as an airhead but proved otherwise by her grades and exams that she always aced, later realizing that being seatmates with her wasn't as bad as it seemed for girls who are generally jealous of girls who would seem perfect in everyone's eyes. No one really knows Seulgi in this particular class. Despite being popular, she was a different kind of popular; someone who's hard to approach to. No one knows but her how Seulgi is a forgetful one with pure innocence in her eyes that becomes passionate when working on her artworks. Kei could only hope that Jimin had extra pencils and erasers he could let Seulgi borrow.
Yesterday felt like a dream to Seulgi. The silence between them made it feel like yesterday was just a dream. The conversation and smiles she shared with the guy beside her seemed like a distant imagination making it hard for her to even greet a simple 'Hi'. Releasing a silent sigh, she rummaged for a pencil inside her bag only to find none. Seulgi turned to her right, about to ask her seatmate if she could borrow her extra but there was no Kei beside her anymore, instead...
"Hi." Seulgi blinked in surprise forgetting that Jimin was there for a moment, her eyes wandered from him to Kei who couldn't help but chuckle. Kei gave her a smile and waved the pencil that Seulgi would always borrow from her.
"Hello, Jimin." Jimin pursed his lips, wondering what to say next but noticed she was looking behind him. He turned and caught Kei waving the pencil which made the girl jump from her seat.
"Oops." Kei muttered sheepishly.
Turning back to Seulgi, he pointed behind him. "Need it?" which she nodded in reply, letting out a small chuckle. Kei handed it to him but before he could turn, she lowered her head and whispered in his ear making Seulgi tilt her head curiously when Jimin nodded in response.
Meeting her curious gaze, Jimin smiled at her making Seulgi back away, unconsciously bringing her hand up to her chest.
"Would you like to borrow my eraser?"
She stared before nodding. "Yes please."
With her palms both on her cheeks, Kei grinned as she watched the scene unfold beside her. How cute. My seatmates are finally friends.
The first Visual Arts class for the afternoon finished with Seulgi getting distracted most of the time. Now that he was finally sitting close to her, she couldn't help but be curious what he usually does during class. Yes, he was in front and full view from her in front of the classroom during the morning courses but all she could see was his back and at times, his side view whenever he would whisper something to Taehyung.
She noticed a few things about him that fascinated her; the way he'd never take off his eyes from the professor even when he's writing whatever is being lectured, the way he'd brush his hair back more than a normal person would in a span of thirty seconds, the way he'd always rest his cheeks on both of his palms, the way he'd puff both of his cheeks which she found especially cute, and the way he'd lie on his desk face flat without knowing it was because of how he felt her stares.
Jimin turned his head to her direction, catching her off guard. The class ended and their professor left just a minute ago but she was still eyeing him that it made him wonder if she even listened to the lecture at all. One would say that he was used to being stared at and watched by Seulgi every morning courses but being stared at this close was entirely a different thing. It made him nervous. Spring felt like summer with all the sweat trickling down his forehead. Because he was nervous, he was well aware that he brushed his hair back more than usual. Being in a very close proximity only made him remember the events that had happened yesterday and the realization he had.
"We have homework." Seulgi blinked at him, not understanding.
"Home... work?" Already used to it, Jimin nodded and sat up straight.
"Yeah, before he left, Junmyeon seonsaeng gave us homework due next week, Friday." He stood up, picking up Seulgi's bag for her. She followed suit and took the bag from him with a small thank you, stuffing her notebook that she hadn't written on for today's class.
"Oh. I wasn't listening." She scratched her head and smiled sheepishly.
"Yeah, I figured." Seulgi looked up at him and he could only blush, remembering her intense stare the whole time. Hiding his face, he turned and started for the door. I guess we'll only meet again for the next class. Seulgi stood there trying to remember if she was supposed to go to Wendy's class to meet up with her.
"You're not coming?"
"Huh?" Jimin was still standing by the door, waiting for her. "I'm supposed to meet Wendy... I think?" She replied despite being unsure herself.
"I know. Taehyung's in the same class, let's walk together." Realizing that he wasn't actually asking her, he flushed from his sudden burst of confidence. "I mean, if you're okay with walking with me, that is."

After explaining the homework to Seulgi, both of them walked side by side in silence. Not entirely silent with all the fuss the other students were going on about but they chose to ignore them. It was more of Jimin ignoring them and Seulgi not really understanding the situation but nonetheless, they walked together in peace.
Reaching the classroom for their Dramatic Arts course, Jimin and Seulgi was welcomed with an empty classroom. They looked at each other but Jimin could only shrug. Taehyung didn't particularly tell him they were going to be somewhere else for Dramatic Arts so when a guy who Jimin usually saw from the class next to Taehyung's passed by, he stopped him and asked.
"Excuse me. Do you happen to know where the next class is right now?" Jimin gave him a friendly smile, but instead of answering, the guy turned towards Seulgi who was standing beside him, recognizing her immediately.
Smirking, he stepped forward, eyes on her. "Yeah, you're Wendy's best friend, right? You're prettier up close." Holding out his hand to her, he ignored Jimin's previous question, "The name's Yu Jinwon. Kang Seulgi, right?" He leered at her with a smile that Seulgi didn't like.
"I can bring you to their class if you come with me."
Seulgi was dense, that much was obvious to everyone but 'everyone' was unaware that Seulgi knew this fact herself. She's aware of her lack of empathy, people's expressions always gave off the feeling that she doesn't understand and share their feelings at all. In fact, she was worried she'll never understand everyone's feelings. Despite the lack of empathy, Seulgi's instincts are sharp. Sharp enough to sense danger and malice. So when Jinwon takes one more step closer much to her discomfort, she took a step back hiding behind Jimin, clutching on his uniform.
Finally remembering that she was with someone, Jinwon looked up from her hiding figure only to meet with an icy pair of brown orbs glaring right through him grimly with menace. Taken aback by the hostility of the gaze, he couldn't help but retreat one step but regained composure not long. He always saw Jimin around, most of the time hanging with Taehyung after the first afternoon class and he has never seen this kind of expression before. As a matter of fact, he has always thought that Jimin looked like the helpless and weak type. Turns out he was wrong and he found it endlessly amusing.
"Oh, you were there." He smirked. "What's with the scary look, man? I'm not gonna eat your girlfriend... or am I?"
With a satisfied grin, he stuffed his hands inside his pockets not expecting to be grabbed by the collar. With wide eyes, he was forced to stare at Jimin's scowling look, the friendly smile from earlier completely thrown away. It made him think of an innocent rabbit which actually turned out to be the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
With every second that passed, from looking at him smugly, Jinwon's confidence slowly vanished along the thin air finally realizing the real threat from Jimin's eyes. Raising both arms in surrender, it still took a few seconds before Jimin finally let him go a bit too violent than he would've liked. He watched as Jimin took Seulgi's hand and walked past him. He let out a short bitter laugh, not believing what just took place. Lucky for him, students were inside their classes or else, truth be told, he would've had his sorry ass all over cyberworld.
Turning towards their direction, he crossed his arms. "Academy Theater." He yelled across the hall, not even caring he'd get scolded by his professor who was just in the class next to where he was standing. The pair stopped for a second but did not turn to thank him. Obviously, he thought to himself.
"Well, that was fun." With a last smirk, he headed inside his own class wondering when his professor would shut the hell up.
The sea. Seulgi thought to herself as she peered at the guy who had her hand clasped protectively in his. He resembles the sea. On good days, the waves would crawl gently to the shore and creep steadily towards your feet. It would gently drench the sand and softly douse the beach. The ebbing tide; harmonious as the sea would vaporously exhale its mist while the gushing of the waves; comforting. The hum of the wave-song would beguile anyone. The murmuring of the waves would hypnotize you into calmness. And during bad days the waves would be powerful in that violent way of storms and their roar echoed across the sea to the dark land. The wind would lash in a torrent of its own as if determined to strike fear into the land-dwellers. The gusty trees would creak so loud it would seem more like screaming below the gale. The waves roll in, each of them as strong and bold as the last. And then everyone would realize that they shouldn't take the sea lightly. Because it could either bring happiness or fear.
"Seulgi?" Jimin called out, his voice laced with worry.
"The sea."
"Huh?" He looked at her dumbfounded. He was worried that she might've been shaken but she blurted out something so random assuring him that she was okay, somehow.
"I'd like to go to the sea some time." She nodded to herself. They were heading to the theater room. He didn't really want to trust that Jinwon guy but Taehyung and Wendy would really most likely be in the Theater room so they were headed there.
"The sea, huh?" The thought of it made Jimin smile, the sour feeling from earlier finally ebbing away slowly but he was still vexed from earlier. "I've always loved the sea but even though Busan sea is beautiful, I rarely go there."
"We can go together if you want." He didn't dare to glance at her, fearing that his heart would beat even louder than it already did. But of course, the feeling wouldn't last long, not when he gets disappointed from her additional words. "Let's paint the sea for our homework." What the hell. Park? He thought to himself. Don't get too full of yourself. He sighed.
This caught her attention. "You don't want to?" Her words laced with slight disappointment making him panic. "We can invite Taehyungie if you're uncomfortable going alone with me." She added as if reminded of his 'female related trauma' which he already pointed out that he didn't have.
"No!" He stopped, and she did too. His eyes widened, surprised by his own outburst. Damn it. He whispered under his breath. "I'd like to− I mean, let's go together... and paint. TaeTae doesn't have to come... well, unless you bring Wendy with you." He sighed, feeling stupid.
Seulgi looked down, thinking deeply about it. She wanted to go. She wanted to go to the sea and paint something that reminded her of Jimin. That would be nice. Remembering about Wendy's part time job, she looked up at the boy with horror making Jimin nervous yet again. Oddly, she made him nervous a lot.
"They won't be able to anymore." Her expression became sad, her shoulders drooping. "They have part-time jobs in the afternoon next week. They'll be busy with more training tomorrow and Sunday, right?" Saturday and Sunday were scheduled for more training in the coffee house, their homework was due next week Friday which means Wendy nor Taehyung would be available.
"We can go with just the two of us." Seulgi's face lit up.
"Hmn!" She skipped happily beside him with her eye smile the whole way, despite his nervousness, he couldn't help but feel a bubble of happiness surge inside him.

Standing by the theater door, Taehyung and Wendy stared at the two in front of them in blankly. Seulgi had no problems returning the stare while Jimin wondered what the hell was wrong when suddenly, Taehyung spoke up.
"Why are you two holding hands? Did you two have a secret rendezvous without our knowing?"
Friday, April 14 marks the day when Jimin exploded.

Hello! I give to you Chapter six, "The sea."! I wonder if you really do read this author's note but whatever huehue
The addition of Lovelyz Kei and Produce 101 trainee Yu Jinwon was on impulse. Nyaha~ Kei was initially intended to be upset and mean because of Jimin changing seats to sit beside Seulgi but meh- that's too cliché and real mean people will eventually come in the way anyway. So Kei is like this side character who lowkey supports our pair. As for Jinwon, I don't watch Produce 101 and I'm sorry in advance for anyone who's a fan of Produce 101 and of Yu Jinwon.
