Looking for a Nursery

By multifandoms23

Today me and Blaine, maybe someone else might come along, to find a Nursery, we will only be looking around but not sending as I'm still unsure of whether to send him or not.

"Ready sweetheart?" I tell him as I get him dressed into a white long sleeve polo and some grey skinny jeans.

"What socks do you want?" I ask him.

"Ba'man" he cheers. I grab him some Batman socks and slip them onto his feet. I tuck in his shirt so he looked a bit more presentable for when we look around. I also managed to put together a presentable outfit.

"Right, let's see who's coming shall we?" I ask Blaine, rhetorically. I pick him up and take him downstairs.

"Who's coming with us then?" I ask as I put Blaine on the floor and pack a bag, making sure I have enough.

"I think we all are" Carole says.

"Oh ok, that's fine, at least we can all see what it's like" I tell them as I walk into the hall and fold Blaine's pushchair before putting the bag down and collecting Blaine's and mines coats and shoes. I go into the kitchen and put my coat and shoes on first before calling Blaine over.

"Come here sweetie" I call as I sat down on a chair in the kitchen. Blaine comes running over to me.

"Woah, careful baby, you almost fell over" I chuckle lightly as he almost slipped whilst running to me. I put Blaine on my lap and put his shoes on him before putting him back down again and putting his coat on.

"All done" I smile at him as I do the last button up and smooth his coat down.

"Are we ready?" Dad asks as I stand up and tuck the chair in.

"I think so" I say as we walk toward the front door. I pick up the bag and then the pushchair.

"Somebody watch Blaine please?" I ask them as we walk out to the car, I say this because Blaine can now open the front gates.

"Sure" someone calls out. I unlock the car and lay the pushchair in the boot.

"Are we all going in one car?" I ask.

"Sure, if we can fit" dad says, coming up to me.

"I'll move Blaine's seat to the middle then so me and Finn aren't gonna be squashed" I explain to him as I set the bag down on the ground for now. As I sort out Blaine's car seat, I glance up as I see someone trying to open the gate, so when I look properly, it's Blaine.

"Ah ah ah" I see Carole run to him just in time and pick him up, giggling.

"No Blaine, it's not funny, we have all told you not to open that gate or go out of it unless there's an adult with you" Carole explains to him and that's when he starts to sob.

"It's dangerous kiddo, someone could take you and you would never come back to us" dad 'helps' out.

"Thanks dad" I sarcastically say to him as I walk over to them both with Blaine crying even harder than before.

"What? Just teaching him a lesson" he sighs as I take Blaine from Carole's arms.

"I know, but it's a bit extreme, I mean yeah someone could take him, but seriously you could have said it in a way that wouldn't make him cry" I explain as I walk to the car and buckle Blaine into his seat. We all just leave it and get in the car. Dad uses the Satnav so we know where we are going. 20 minutes later and we were there, I get out and unload the pushchair before taking Blaine from Finn and putting him in his pushchair. We walk into the nursery and up to the receptionist.

"Hello, how may I help?" A nice looking lady smiles at us.

"Um appointment with the head mistress please, Hummel" I tell her as I smile back at her.

"Ah yes, 1o:30am, is it?"

"Yes" I tell her.

"Ok, I'll just show you where her office is and then she should be with you shortly" she smiles at us again as she leaves her place and leads us down a small corridor to the woman's office.

"Here we go" she says.

"Thank you" dad speaks.

"No problem, hope to see you here little man" she smiles at Blaine, who just whines and hides under his blanket I wrapped round him, which he must have somehow untangled himself. A few short minutes later and we were called into her office.

"Hello, I'm Tanya Burr, the Headmistress of ABC Nursery" she introduces herself. (A/N: I couldn't think of any other names so most teachers names might be YouTubers surnames, also the nursery is made up, well at least I think it is, I don't know, I've never heard of it before sorry)

"Hello, I'm Kurt Hummel, my dad Burt, step mum Carole, step brother Finn and my 'son' Blaine Anderson" I introduce everyone and putting quotation marks around son.

"Lovely to meet you all, now there are certain things that apply here obviously, but nothing that would be concerning or serious" she starts.

"As you know, this is a Nursery for adult babies, no matter what the situation they have been in or are in, this Nursery is to help 'children' develop more, make new friends and help them overcome their fears and to become more social, we make sure all children take their time and we certaintly do not rush them, they go at their own pace and we are very patient with them all" she explains.

"All children are safe here, things that shouldn't be out, are put away immediately, fences are high enough so that they can't escape, it's happened once or twice but we have highered it now, so it's all good, no children have been able to get out or even attempt it, we take that as a good sign, we have 1-2 year olds together and they are the children that still takes naps and bottles and all of that"

"Then there are the 2-3 year olds that are still in pull ups but are currently being potty trained, sippy cups only, weaning of dummies and all of that, we accept all 'children' as they are and we are people who do not judge them for who they are or who they want to be, now the days and times, you can pick the days but unfortunately not the times, you are also allowed to pick how many days you want them in during the week"

"It can be 1 day, 1 day and a half and so forth up until 3 days at the most, the times will be 10:30 - 2pm, they will have lunch here, maybe a nap if they are scheduled for naps, if you come half an hour late because you forgot or you woke up late, no matter what the reason, it will be fine, if it happens to continue, we are totally happy for that to happen and you coming in a little later than usual but it can not be no later the 30 minutes, if you happen to come a little bit later than 30 minutes a few times, that's fine, but it can't happen all the time, any questions?" She finishes.

"What do you do if there's a naughty child?" Finn asks.

"Time out for 10 minutes, apology and then they hug it out" she smiles at us.

"Ok, about lunch times, Blaine can be fussy when it comes to food, either he doesn't want to eat or he would want me to feed him, would that be an issue here?"

"Not at all, we do try to encourage them to eat but if they don't want to, they don't have to, maybe they just want a small snack later, but they aren't allowed home until they at least have something to eat, whether it's one biscuit or a meal, just something"

"Does he have naps?" She asks me.

"Yes, one or two times during the day" I explain to her.

"He's shy at first but will eventually get there" I say to her.

"That's fine, like I said they will take their time and go at their own pace, we don't rush the children as it can get them all wound up"

"Anyway, now that that's over, would you like a tour?" She asks as she stands up.

"Sure" we all say but before we leave she walks over to Blaine and crouches in front of him.

"Hey Blaine, I'm hoping you could join this Nursery, I'd love to see you here" she smiles at him as she gently tugs the blanket down a bit from his face. He whines and tries his best to turn over in the pushchair with the straps on and pulls the blanket over his face again.

"That's alright sweetie, not everybody likes first meetings" she smiles and stands back up. We walk out the office and she starts to give us a tour of the Nursery.

"So how old is Blaine?" She asks the questions now.

"He's 2, still nappies, bottles, trying to wean of with the dummies but unsuccessful, takes naps still and just generally things like a one year old" I explain to her in one go.

"That is absolutely fine, that does mean he will go into the 1-2 year old group" she says as she stops and looks at us.

"I knew he would anyway as soon as you mentioned it and that's totally fine" I tell her.

"If you do decide that this is the one, then his teacher will be Miss. Sugg, she is a very lovely lady and sometimes her partner comes to join and helps out with the kids" she tells us.

"Anyway, this is where some children have quiet time" she whispers as we all look through the window, except Blaine, who whines and tries to see from his pushchair.

"You wanna see?" I ask him and he nods his head 'yes'. I unclip and pull him out of the pushchair.

"Wook" he points to a bean bag.

"Baby, we have to be quiet, they're having quiet time" I tell him.

"Sowwy" he apologises.

"It's ok, you didn't know what was going on" she chuckles at Blaine quietly.

"Daddy" he whines as he puts his head into my neck as far as he could after he looked at the woman.

"You're ok, she isn't going to hurt you" I soothe him as I rub his back up and down as we start to walk some more.

"I guess he came from an abusive home?" She asks as she cocks her head to the side a bit.

"Kinda, dad was homophobic, beat him up and smashed his head into his drawers as well as throwing his beer bottle at it" I explain, trying really hard not to tear up of the memory of Blaine lying on the floor, all bloody and his 'father' hovering over him.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to make you start to cry" she apologises quickly as Carole rubs my back.

"It's fine, you didn't know" I smile, tearily at her whilst she writes down some notes, probably about Blaine.

"Daddy, 'Tay?" Blaine asks me as he lifts his head up a bit and looks at me.

"I'm alright sweetie, thank you" I say as I kiss his head.

"Anyway, shall we get on with the rest of the tour?" She tries to lighten the mood.

"Sure" dad says and we start walking around more. We walked around some more and Blaine wanted to be put down so he walked next to me. We quietly walk into a classroom and observe the scene, I'm starting to think Blaine is getting a bit overwhelmed by it all as its all new to him and different surroundings to what he would usually see.

"Come on Blaine, we are nearly done then you can go home ok? I promise" Mrs. Burr says as we all stop to look at Blaine, who just suddenly stopped walking and stood on the spot.

"Daddy" he sobs.

"Baby, just a few more minutes ok" I tell him.

"Look, why don't I show you the outside?" She asks him, trying to distract him. At the minute we were standing outside a room that had the younger children sleeping in.

"Daddy" he sobs again as he runs on the spot, lifting his arms up to be carried.

"Shh sweetie, you're gonna wake the children up" I soothe him as I pick him up, his coat rising a little showing the back of his polo shirt. He immediately lays his head on my shoulder.

"Too overwhelmed" dad says as he looks at Blaine.

"Yeah, well ok, we are nearly done and then you can go home, alright?" She smiles at Blaine before heading outside.

"We bring the children out here when it's a sunny day or maybe even cloudy, we don't really bring them out here if it's raining because some parents don't like to get their child sick" she explains as we look outside, which was a bit cold.

"Old daddy" Blaine starts to cry again.

"I know baby, I know, you wanna lay in your pushchair with your bottle and blanket?" I ask him as I point to his pushchair.

"Eah" he sobs.

"Alright baby, calm down, we'll sort you out" I soothe him while I go to put him in.

"Sorry about this" I apologise to Mrs. Burr.

"It's no problem, nap time is it?" She asks and I look at my watch.

"30 minutes ago and it's probably because he is too overwhelmed with it all, new surroundings and new people" I explain to her as I clip Blaine in, wrap his blanket around him and give him his bottle. We start to finish up and Mrs. Burr takes us to what would be Blaine's classroom if I wanted him here. There were only 4 or 5 children in here with another teacher.

"This is Zoe Sugg, Blaine's new teacher hopefully" she says.

"One sec guys, we have a visitor" Miss. Sugg says to the small children before walking over to us.

"Ah this must be Blaine, hey sweetie" she coos at Blaine. He whines and closes his eyes, trying to sleep.

"He's shy" I tell her.

"That's ok" she replies.

"As you know I'm Zoe Sugg and I'm hoping to be Blaine's teacher" she greets us. We then introduce ourselves to her and chat a bit.

"Miss" A little boy came running over.

"Dan! We have to be quiet, there's a little boy sleeping" Miss. Sugg told the boy.

"Sowwy" he apologises.

"It's fine, would you like to say hi to these lovely people?" She asks him.

"No" he mumbles as he hides behind her legs.

"It's ok, he doesn't have to" I tell them. A few minutes pass of us all talking to each other and getting to know the kids. They soon come over and crowd around the pushchair, which Blaine was sleeping in.

"Don't get too close, we don't want to disturb him, he's had a rough morning" Mrs. Burr tells the children.

"Why he 'ave bwanket?" A little girl asks.

"Because he's cold sweetie" I tell her.

"Why...why...why he 'ave...'ave d-dummy?" A little boy asks.

"Well sweetie, when you go and have your nap or if your upset, we give you your dummy to calm you down, don't we? So Blaine has his dummy so he can sleep better" Mrs. Burr explains to him.

"Me wan' it" another little girl complains and tries to reach into the pushchair and take it out of Blaine's mouth.

"No Liza" Zoe grabs her just in time.

"We shall go and find yours, sorry about that" she apologises as she takes the Liza girl to find her dummy.

"Now as you can see, it's a small group of 5: 3 girls, 2 boys, there's Liza as you have seen, Dan you have also met, then there is Chris, Kristen and Ava" she points out all the children.

"Why such a small class?" Finn asks.

"It's always a small class when they start so we know where they are headed next or if they need to be in this group for a little longer if they need extra help with something such as reading when they get to that stage" she explains.

"Ok, how old is everyone then?" I ask.

"Chris and Ava turned 2 two months ago, they aren't twins or related, they just have really close birthdays, Dan turned 2 about 5 months ago, Kristen and Liza are 2 1/2 since 7 weeks ago, they aren't twins or related neither, just close birthdays" she explains.

"So Blaine is the youngest?" I question.

"When did he turn two?"

"Just about a month ago" I tell her.

"Then yes, he is the youngest"

"How come Kristen and Liza are 2 and a half and in this group and not the 2-3 year olds group?"

"They are a little bit behind" we stay for a little while longer before heading back to Mrs. Burrs office.

"Oh one thing I missed out about the eating, when I told you that they at least need to eat something until they go home, by the time you pick them, we will tell you what they have been doing and eating throughout the day and if they still haven't ate anything by the time you pick them up, we will have a word with the parent or adult that comes to pick them up and we try and see if you could help us out to get them to eat so we know that they aren't going home hungry, I mean you seem like a great 'dad' and you probably do feed him, but when we first opened this place, we found out that some children were only being fed one meal a day and that was it, so now we have made sure that those children are in a better place and are able to eat with beige parents, in fact a few of those children are happier now and are in the older group with new parents" she explains everything.

"Oh wow, yeah of course we feed Blaine and that's fine if we have to help him eat before going home"

"Um, obviously we call if we have tried everything we can to try and calm the children down but if nothing has worked, we ring and ask if you can come pick them up as they might just want to go home for the rest of the day, which is absolutely fine, we will ask you to bring a small backpack with spare clothes and things they need or would like to bring with them, we supply the nappies of all sorts in case a child is allergic to a certain type and when you pick them up, we tell each parent what their child did today, how they got on and what they ate" she explains everything.

"Seems great" I smile at her.

"Daddy" Blaine stirs in his seat, I sit him up and make him a smaller milk bottle.

"Short nap" Tanya says.

"This always happens, he gives himself a short nap, wakes up but then I give him a smaller bottle of milk to help go back to sleep so he isn't cranky later" I explain to her whilst I sort Blaine out again and lay his seat down.

"Here, here is your bottle sweetheart" I soothe as I hand it to him and wrap his blanket round him again.

"Shh, it's alright, go back to sleep" I soothe him as I tip the pushchair back a little and rock back and forth with the pushchair gently so it's on its 2 back wheels. We go through all things that are done here and I put in Blaine's schedule so they know when he takes his naps and stuff like that. Although I tell them all of this, I'm still unsure whether to send him or not. Apparently we were allowed to stay and watch what goes on during the rest of the day. Blaine soon woke up again and they offered us lunch, which was kind of them.

They allowed us into one of the classrooms and let us play for a bit to see how Blaine would get on with other kids and to see if he would interact with anyone.

"What shall we play today?" Zoe asks the children as me and everyone else sat at the back of the classroom. One of the kids picked a game that I've never even heard of. Blaine drags me to a table that had loads of different puzzles on it. We did a couple of them before that Dan kid came running over.

"Hi, me Dan" he shyly greets us.

"Hi Dan, I'm Kurt, it's lovely to meet you" I smile at him and watch Blaine's movements to see if he would introduce himself and not me doing it.

"Sweetie, gonna say hi?" I try to encourage him.

"Daddy" he mumbles before getting down from the kids table and coming up to me, pressing his head into my chest.

"He's shy, but this is Blaine" I tell him, not really wanting to introduce Blaine myself and really wanting Blaine to do it.

"Me 'elp?" He asks as he looks at the puzzles.

"Sure" I say, waiting for Blaine's reaction. I start to play with the little boy for awhile with Blaine's head still in my chest.

"Daddy" Blaine whined, but I ignored him, playing with the little boy.

"Daddy" he whines again.

"What's the matter sweetheart?" I ask him as I pull him away from my chest slightly.

"Wan' go 'ome" he gets all teary eyed.

"Daddy will do 2 more puzzles, then we will see about leaving ok?" I tell him.

"No, 'ow" he sobs. I had this feeling that he was going to start a tantrum in a matter of seconds. I continue to ignore him and play with Dan and help him with the puzzles, this angered Blaine.

"No" Blaine shouts as he goes to the table and pulls the puzzles apart. He then goes over to Dan and almost hits him, but I managed to grab Blaine just in time.

"That's it, you're going in your pushchair" I tell him as I pick him up and carry him over to where his pushchair was sat, which was where everyone was sat and watching me and Blaine play. I sit him in it and clip him in so he couldn't escape, he grabs a hold of his blanket and covers his face, probably from embarrassment.

"I'm sorry sweetie, let's start over, ok?" I coo at Dan, who was crying his eyes out as Zoe tried to calm him down.

"There we go" I say as he smiles at me and makes grabby hands toward me, I take him from Zoe's arms and into my own before taking him over to the table again and redoing the puzzles. After 10 minutes, dad calls out.

"He can come out now, can't he?" He calls over.

"Yeah" I shout back as I turn in my seat to see Blaine running toward me, with the blanket in front of him dragging across the floor and I knew exactly how that was going to end. He tripped and it's a good thing the blanket hit the ground first before his face did.

"Alright, alright" I soothe as I quickly ran over there, picking him and the blanket up at the same time.

"Ok, are we allowed to come back tomorrow, I think this is all too much for him to handle all at once" I explain as I try to calm Blaine down.

"That's absolutely fine, parents should be coming soon" she smiles at us.

"How's his face?" She then asks as she tries to look at it.

"Sweetie, let's see your face" I tell him and he shows us his face, which just looked red.

"Ok, I think we are all good" I tell him.

"Can you apologise to Dan please?" I ask him.

"Tay" he sniffles, I put him on the floor but this time I held his blanket. He ran over to Dan, apologised and then hugged him before coming back.

"Alright thank you for showing us around, it was lovely to see everyone" I thank Tanya.

"No problem, my pleasure, let me just go and open the gates for you to let you out" she explains as we head to my car, she follows us to the car to say bye.

"Bye Blaine, I hope to see you some day" she smiles at Blaine as I clip him in his seat, give him his dummy and tuck him in his blanket.

"Say bye" I tell him.

"No" he then sobs again as he lay his head back in his seat.

"Sorry" I turn to Tanya.

"It's no problem" she smiles.

"I think he's too tired and hungry" I tell her.

"That's ok, well hopefully I see you here more than once" she smiles again.

"Let's hope so" I smile back at her, I get in, buckle up and shut the door. Dad drives to the gates and she lets us out, we all say bye again as we drove by.

"Well that was sure eventful" dad chuckles.

"Let's go get dinner" I sigh as Blaine wanted to hold my hand. Dad drives to McDonalds and we go inside to eat. After we all ate, we just sit and chat until Blaine fell asleep on me.

"Been a long day" Carole laughs.

"Yup" I laugh with her as I look at Blaine.

"I'll just get him into his pyjamas and then perhaps we shall leave" I suggest as I start to get up.

"Sure" dad agrees. I carefully pick Blaine up and carry him to the toilets, I take his clothes off and change his nappy, I then slip on a fleece car theme sleep suit on him as it was a bit cold tonight.

I pick him up again, making sure I have everything and throwing the dirty nappy in the bin. I walk back to the table and it was cleared.

"Let's go" I sigh as we walk out to the car.

"I made a bottle sweetheart" Carole tells me as I go to put Blaine in.

"Thanks Carole" I clip Blaine in and was about to wrap him up in his blanket, but he stirs awake.

"Daddy" he mumbles as he tried looking for me with his eyes half shut.

"Shh baby, go back to sleep" I soothe him as I push his head back into the seat gently and putting the bottle in his mouth. He goes back to sleep and I finally wrap the blanket around him. We all get in and head home. I take Blaine up and put him in his crib before heading to bed my self.
