What is the point of existence
When one's means of sustenance
Is stolen and undertaken
Then how is one meant to find happiness?
Thoughts jumbling around her head
As she rushed across the boulevard
Halting at the shore of the ocean
Reaching out with her arms scarred,

'Your body is a temple'
She was once told
But how could she worship a place
Which brought her everything but love and peace,
He said
That her body was special
He called her his home
A place for lost souls
That she held within her
Stars and love and flowers
That her heart was pure
And her lungs were a breath of fresh air
And her hair smelled like the ocean air
But he left her
And wandered away. . . .
She waited
But he kept pushing her away
She doubted
Was he ever meant to stay?
So she opened her veins
Looking
Searching
Hoping
To find what he promised her in the first place,
But she couldn't find anything that shined
At least not anything worth her time.

She sat by the ocean
For quite a while
Processing her thoughts
She walked a mile
Towards the sea
Submerged till her shoulders
Lost in melancholy
She dreamed of a new world
An entirely different universe,
A place for second chances
Where she could begin another verse,
She wondered
How nice it must be to be a fish
Just floating away with the currents
No conscience of one's existence,
She dream of a parallel world
Where she wasn't so miserable
She put faith in god
Fearlessly she marched,
She walked some more
And disappeared
"No more"
A whisper echoed
In the cacophony of splashing waves.
