"Do you think you can drop me off at Nonna's house, please?" Penny asks Paul as they just got done with school. Penny wanted to talk to her grandmother about her current nightmare hoping she might know how to make it go away.
"Of course I can." Paul nods his head forgetting that he was suppose to keep Penny away from Nonna's house. Sam didn't alpha order him, he just asked Paul to keep Penny away while Sam was visiting but it was obvious he had forgotten. Plus he couldn't say no to his imprint especially when she asks nicely and look as adorable as she did.
Paul takes a left before driving down the road towards her grandmother's house. Everyone in La Push knew exactly where Nonna lived since she would always hold bake sells at her house. Nonna was an elderly woman who loved her community more than herself. She would always raise enough money for the school to get new uniforms or even to have better bathrooms.
"You never told me what really happened at lunch." Penny says as she watches the forest past by her in a fuzzy blur due to Paul's intense speed.
Paul had tried to tell her that he was just upset at something Jared had said earlier but that confused Penny, because Jared didn't even say anything close to being mean enough for Paul to get that worked up at. Plus Jacob and all the boys were outside with only shorts on and no shirts except for Jared and Paul who only wore shirts. When Jacob had said he was too sick to even go outside or hang with her and Quil.
Then there was Sam Uley who had shown up on the school's property when he didn't even attend there which definitely confused the girl even more, but what made her angry was when Sam had the decency to tell Penny to go back inside. When the boy she cared about was outside in front of her shaking violently from rage and letting growls escape his sweet sugary plump lips. Sam had easily pissed the short blonde girl off very quickly when she didn't even remember the last time she had snap at someone like she did with Sam.
"Penny, don't worry about it really. It was just some easily bottled up rage that had exploded at the wrong time." Paul sighs leaning over to grab on her hand as he squeezes reassuring the girl he was fine. Penny wanted to believe Paul, she really did but she could feel a gut feeling telling her that he was lying.
"Paul, you know you can tell me anything even if it may hurt my feelings. I don't want you to bottle things up because it will only hurt in the end." Penny stares at the side of Paul's head as his lips slowly turns upward in a crooked smile. His eyes brighten in delight at Penny's words.
"You know, you're too good for me." Paul slowly says as he smiles at the road in front of him. The words Paul had said was nothing but honesty because Penny was too good for him.
Rolling her eyes Penny couldn't help but blush at Paul's simple words before she replied back, "Paul, you're the one too good for me and we both know it."
"Penny, I would simply love to argue about who is too good for who but we both know that I'll actually argue the longest." Paul smirks at her watching her roll her eyes once more at his words. He only chuckles in response at her action finding it quite adorable.
Penny was going to reply until she hears angry voices coming from her head once again. She simply looks around the forest seeing no one outside that could have claim the voices. Soon she closes her eyes and pinches herself once the voices start to become clearer.
She's getting away! We need to stop her before she reaches the cliff.
Penny shuts her eyes tighter and squeezes her own flesh of skin on her arm tighter.
I know you're knew to this but when you approach a cold one always go for the throat or possibly the head. Fastest way to kill one.
She's in the street, we need to kill her before someone sees her!
Penny's eyes flashes open seeing a tall slender woman standing in the middle of the road up ahead. Her red curly bushy hair was being blown back out of her face as she holds a deadly glare at whatever she was looking at in the forest. This was the woman the voices were talking about killing. The was the woman that the voices wanted to so badly kill before anybody could even notice.
"Stop!" Penny screams on the top of her lungs as she notices three giant wolves run out of the forest. The girl had turned in a flash and ran off back into the forest. The wolves all turned their large fluffy heads at the screeching tires and the sudden squeaky loud voice. But even they turn and bolted back into the forest after the redhead.
Paul's truck soon comes to a sudden jolt halt as both teenagers are flung forward from the sudden harshness of speed stopping. And they were soon flung backwards into their seats by their seat belts that had restricted them from slamming their bodies through the front dash window. Unbuckling herself from her seat Penny flings the passenger open as she jumps down from the truck onto the pavement.
"Penny, get back into the car now!" Paul barks at her as he got out the car just as well. He had seen the vampire from far away but he wasn't expecting his brothers to jump out in the open where they could have been seen by others or possibly be hit. "You need to stay in the car and I'll be back."
"Like hell I am. Those beasts are going to kill that poor girl." Penny shouts while juking Paul in the middle of the road. He was trying to stop her but she had easily faked one way and ducked underneath his arms as she went the opposite way. She bolts into the forest going as fast as her legs would allow her. Little did she know she was actually going just as fast as a vampire would.
Paul had shifted shortly behind the girl as he noticed how fast she was truly going. He didn't know if this was another mysterious power she had just showed or if she had knew that she could run this fast. Slowly but surely Paul was gaining on the girl's heels which let the other three wolves realize the girl was chasing after them as they chase the redhead.
Penny slows her pace when the three wolves were circling the redhead. She let an unnatural growl leave her lips every time the wolves came one step closer to her. Penny's eyes were widen with shock as she feared for the girl's safety but she had a gut feeling deep inside her telling her that she was evil.
Penny looks around the forest not knowing how to distract the wolves properly so the girl could run away from them freely. Soon enough she takes off towards the trees where she grabs a few rocks and climbs up them at unnatural speed. Slowly steadying herself on a midway branch from the ground that seemed to be sturdy enough to hold her weight she picks up one of the rocks out of her arms. Soon a fourth wolf had made an appearance with the others as a black one was making it's way as well through the bushes.
Idiots, Penny saw all three of you and she's in the forest somewhere.
We have other things to worry about right now. Kill her and end this stupid chase.
Penny glares down at the wolves figuring that the voices in her head was coming from the pack of wolves on the ground. Stretching her arm back she flings it forwards with an incredible speed that the rock hits one of the many wolves in the head.
What the hell was that?
Penny soon grabs a bigger rock and chucks it at the black wolf in the side seeing it hit where his rib cage would be. Luckily for her she was well hidden in the trees that they would not be able to see her.
Who the hell is throwing rocks?
Penny could feel the all the rocks leave her arms as they float in the air above her. Not even looking at the floating rocks she throws her empty right hand outwards with her fingers stretch apart from one another. With the single flick of her wrist the rocks were soon bolting at the wolves hitting them all in the side and head very violently.
Fuck!
Damn it!
Shit!
Just try to kill the girl!
But while they were being violently attack by the rocks over and over again it had gave the redhead enough time to escape their grasps. Penny was glaring deeply at the wolves as her hatred for them grew more when she heard growls leave their lips when they notice the red bushy curly hair girl was gone. Penny never felt this feeling before, the feeling of wanting to kill something in matter of seconds. Anger had soon consume the girl fully making her not realize where she had just gone wrong.
Soon one of the wolves had yelped in pain from the sudden attack at one of their rib cages breaking a few bones. The wolf with gray fur with black spots and a dark black nose had suddenly collapsed on the ground. Penny's anger vanishes in matter of seconds when she realizes what she had just done. Climbing down from the trees at inhuman speed Penny doesn't realize the once gray fur wolf had shifted into her old best friend.
Once she had made it to the spot where the pack of wolves were just at she could hear shouts of pain. And the shouts weren't whimpers like a wolf. No, they were human shouts in true agony making her speed towards the russet skin body on the ground. Realization hits her when she gets a good glimpse at the boy rolling in agony and holding his sides in pain.
"E-Embry? Embry, oh my god!"
