Zak's P.O.V
Ok, so now I was in full on panic mode. My due date was in less than a week and I was becoming
Very scared. Nova had been running errands and sorting things out for the past two weeks so I
Hadn't seen much of him which made me feel a little lonely.
Nobody had told me how this was going to work, me giving birth and that, so I decided to go see
Micky. He'd know and it'd kill some time too.
I made my way to the hospital wing, breathless by the time I'd got there. I never knew being
Pregnant could be so exhausting.
I walked in, 'Micky?' I called into the silence.
'Whats up buddy?' I jumped when his voice was closer than I'd expected.
I turned and peeped round the door. I saw Micky sitting at his desk smiling over at me. He
Waved his hand, motioning for me to come sit with him. I did.
'What can I do for you bud?' He smiled.
'E-erm, I-I wanted t-to know w-what was going to h-happen when it's t-time.' I stuttered, feeling
Suddenly nervous.
'Nobody told you?' He said a little shocked as I shook my head. 'Well, since you can't give birth
Naturally, for obvious reasons, you'll have a c section.' He explained, watching carefully at my
Expression.
'W-will y-you do I-it o-or,' I stopped, panicking a little now. I didn't feel comfortable with Doc and
Didn't want him near me.
Micky seemed to understand and his eyes were soft and reassuring when he replied, 'don't worry
Zak, I'll be the one delivering your baby.' He smiled.
'O-ok.' I breathed a sigh of relief which made Micky chuckle.
'Go get some rest Zak, you look exhausted.' He said softly.
I nodded, thanked him and left.
As I walked through he halls nausea swept over me suddenly, forcing me to stop. I panted gently as
I leaned against the wall for support. A cold sweat broke out over my body and my head began to
Spin a little from the sick feeling. I rubbed my tummy as a dull pain rolled over it.
'Zak honey are you ok?' Amanda called as she walked towards me.
I loved this woman, her timing was impeccable. She was followed by John and Nathan who all
Looked equally concerned.
'I just f-feel a b-bit sick.' I gagged.
'Come on, let's get you to your room.' Amanda said softly.
I shook my head. 'M-my legs f-feel like j-jelly.'
'Mind if I carry you?' John stepped forward and placed a hand on my shoulder.
I shook my head, no, and felt him pull me effortlessly into his arms.
People stared as we walked to my room but Nathan and Amanda let out low growls which sent
Them scurrying off in the opposite direction.
'There we go,' John said as he laid me gently on my bed. 'I'll go grab you something to drink.' He
Said as he left.
'Your burning up sweetie.' Amanda said. 'I'll go grab a cold towel.' She scurried off into the
Bathroom, coming back seconds later.
She placed the cold towel across my forehead and pulled a blanket over me.
'I'll get Nova.' Nathan said before also leaving the room.
'S-sorry.' I whispered.
Amanda looked down at me in confusion, 'sorry for what dear?'
'F-for stopping y-you from d-doing what you was d-doing.'
She shook her head and smiled, 'Zak, honey, I would rather look after you and make sure your fine
Than anything else. That's what a mothers supposed to do and you are my son so I'm going to take
Good care of you. Got it.'
I felt tears spill over my cheeks at her words. I'd never had a mother that cared as much as she did.
If I was sick I had to take care of myself, my own mother didn't care enough to take proper care of
Me. 'T-thank y-you.' I sobbed.
She smiled and stroked my hair soothingly while humming a tune.
'How is he?' Nova's voice panted.
I looked over at him standing in the doorway and smiled. 'I-I'm ok.'
He crawled onto the bed next to me, gently rubbing my belly. 'Nathan said you felt sick?' He asked.
I nodded, snuggling more into his chest.
'Thank you for bringing him to the room.' Nova smiled at his mother and Nathan who nodded and
Left.
'Heres some water, make sure you rest ok.' John said as he came in, placed the glass on the bedside
Table and left.
'Was you busy.' I asked a little nervous. I didn't want to come in the way of his work, especially if it
Was important.
'Nah, my dad said he'll take over.' He whispered by my ear, sending a shiver down my spine. 'Ive
Missed you.' He sighed.
'I missed you too.' I turned my head and placed my lips to his gently before pulling away, looking
Into his beautiful golden eyes.
He smiled and pecked my lips too. 'Come on, get some sleep.' He tucked the blanket round me and
Pulled me closer to him.
I was just about to drift off when a pain shot through my stomach. I whimpered and clutched
Nova's shirt in my hand.
'Whats wrong?' He sounded a little panicked.
I couldn't answer as another jolt of pain shot through my stomach. I clutched my stomach and
Nova noticed.
'Shit.' He scooped me up in the blankets and ran down the stairs. 'Micky!' He called.
'What?' He ran round to meet us, his face worried.
Nova's P.O.V
'I think it's starting.' I said. Panic raced through my body and Micky saw.
'Right, ok, put him on the bed. Doc!' He called. 'Go get the alpha and luna,' he barked once Doc
Strolled round the corner. 'Zak, buddy, I'm going to give you something to help with the pain.'
He wired a drip to Zak and began getting his tools ready.
Zak whimpered, curled up in the blanket. He was scared. Heck I was scared. I had no idea what to
Expect. But he needed me to be brave for him, so I swallowed my panic and comforted him as best
I could.
I heard the door slam open, 'Nova!' Mother called. She ran to my side looking flustered.
'Whats the plan Micky.' My father asked.
'He's going to have to have a C section.' He looked up and smiled. 'Good your all here, you can help
Me.'
'What about me?' Doc said a bit annoyed.
'Your handing me the tools. Zak's not comfortable with you near him and I need him as relaxed as
Possible. So you stay out of eye sight and just pass me the tools.' Micky barked.
Me, my mother, father, Nathan and Leo all looked at each other with the same smirk. I'm glad
Someone had put him in his place.
'Right, let's get this baby out.' Micky handed us all scrubs and we cleaned up and got ready. 'Zak,
Your going to have to be awake for this,' he began and I saw the panic in my little mates eyes, 'don't
Worry, you won't feel a thing. I promise. I need you awake because it's easier for me to keep an eye
On your condition.' He explained while injecting a liquid in my mates arm.
A curtain was put across his chest so he couldn't see. Me and my mother stood by his head talking
To him softly, keeping him calm, while the others got to work.
'How you feeling sweetie?' Mother asked.
'S-scared.' My little mate whimpered. He shut his eyes tight, taking a couple deep breaths to steady
His breathing.
'Ssshh, it's ok. Everything's going to be fine. Don't be scared.' I cooed. I held his hand in mine and
Gave it a gentle squeeze.
He smiled up at me and I kissed his head gently, still whispering words of reassurance to him.
Time seemed to go by so slow.
'Almost,' I heard Micky say before the sound of crying filled the room.
My heart fluttered as my father came round holding a bundle of blankets. His face held so much
Pride and happiness as he looked at the bundle in his arms.
'Congratulations.' He whispered, tears lining his eyes.
He handed me the bundle and I looked down. Tears spilled down my cheeks as I looked at the tiny
Baby in my arms.
