« GOODBYE »

Right after the war, everything turned chaotic for the Weasley family and Anastasia. The deaths of their loved ones craved a hole in their hearts, the agony of losing them was horrible but for the sake of each other's they tried to move on. Well, almost everyone.

It was pouring rain, thunderstorm stroke in the sky and illuminated part of the massive house where they were gathered in, a comfortable silence had taken over The Burrow; although the aura around the place was depressing, no one dared to make a comment about it.

The brunette interlaced her own fingers together as she stared at the window before her, she brought her knees to her chest in seek of comfort. Her emerald eyes blinked away the tears as her right hand shakily took the quill and bathed the tip of it in ink, the lump in her throat started to grow as she rested the tip of the quill in the parchment. Suddenly, the room was silent and the only thing she could hear, besides her steady breathing, was the echo of Narcissa's words inside her head.

"Did you really think you could make my son happy? You fool! Look at you! Living with these lot of lunatics because you have no family to take you in! What could you possibly contribute to live with my son? Dear, do yourself and Draco a favor and stay away from him. Right now he needs to be home to try and get better from the recent events, you will only be a burden to him."

She shook her head rapidly with a fist of sobs trapped inside her chest. She wanted to scream, cry and let everything out, but again, she wasn't the only one feeling that way.

Her bony shoulders started to shake up and down, and her arms instantly tried to calm her as she wrapped them around herself. Anastasia was done of crying and suffering, but it seemed like the universe had another plans for her.

Dear Draco:

By the time you get this, I'll be probably leaving to America.

I want you to know that I didn't leave because I didn't love you, I left because I love you more than words can explain, and I want you to be really happy. You deserve all the happiness in the world, because even though you came off as a spoiled git in the beginning, you are one of the kindest persons I've ever met. The way you worry about your loved ones is a gift not everybody has, and I'm proud that we crossed paths. In the worst scenario, but we did, and I will be forever grateful for that.

Please don't be sad because of my departure, because I'm doing you a favor. You and I both know how damaged the war left us, and I'm surprised at how perfectly fine you look on the outside; you can fool everyone, but not me. I know a look of pain and sadness when I see one, and I've heard you crying and screaming in the middle of the night. Believe me, you're better off this way.

Now you're with your family and even if you hide it, you are happy. Happy because they are alive and safe by your side, and I want to keep it that way. I want to see your smile again and see you throw your head back and hug your sides when you laugh, I want you to raise your eyebrows when you make a sassy remark. I want you to be entirely happy, and for that, I need to leave.

Before I finish this letter I need to remind you that I love you, very much. I love you so much that my heart wants to explode every time I'm near you or even at the thought of you.

When I felt like there was nothing else worth fighting for, you appearing in my life and illuminated me with your natural glow. I suddenly found a reason to fight... you.

Love,
Anastasia.

Tears cascaded down the girl's pale cheeks as she sealed the letter and stared at the envelope for a while. Her face changed drastically as she shakily walked to her bed in the room and began to pack her stack of clothes inside the bag in which she used an Undetectable Expansible Charm. The envelope was safely tucked inside the pocket of her jacket as she clung the rather heavy bag across her torso and pressed her lips together while her emerald eyes admired the room once more.

She held onto the memories she created in that house with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, the twins and everyone from the family. The girl felt grateful that they gave her a place to live even in the situation they were living. The Weasleys will always be a blessing for Anastasia.

"Annie, dinner's rea—" Ron barged into the room but instantly cut himself off at the sight before him. "Are you leaving?" He asked, his face changing dramatically. "Why?"

"Because I have to." The brunette muttered, staring down at her rusty shoes.

"Is it because of Remus and Tonks? Because we can help you! You are not alone!" The ginger exclaimed as he embraced the girl in a tight hug. "Please don't leave us—Don't leave me."

Anastasia felt like facade of strong girl had crumbled down, because suddenly all her walls fell down, leaving only a vulnerable, sad girl. She clung her arms around the ginger's neck and let the sobs leave her mouth uncontrollably.

"I'm sorry, Ron. But I have to leave." She whispered as she broke the hug with sadness. "I'll be back soon."

"We should tell the others. I'm sure they'd want to say goodbye too." Ron said softly and Anastasia thought about it for a moment, then nodded hesitantly.

Both teenagers climbed down the stairs and greeted the silent family, then, Ron dropped the massive bomb of the girl leaving to America.

"But dear! You still need to finish your last year of education!" Mrs. Weasley exclaimed as she rapidly prepared the girl food for the journey. "How are you going to finish your education in America?"

"I've owled one of my father's friends, he has contacted the headmaster Fontaine and accepted me to finish my last year of school in Ilvermorny, the wizarding school in America." The brunette explained.

"You've got it all sorted out, don't you?" Harry pointed as he crossed his arms over his chest with a pained expression in his features.

"I planned it yesterday, but I wasn't sure until today."

"After you saw the Malfoys in Diagon Alley." Ginny indicated, raising her eyebrows. "Is that why you're leaving? Because of what they said?"

"No." Anastasia lied. "It's because I want to find a new perspective. After all, the war made me feel like my mind is all over the place and I need to focus on myself."

"What does Draco say about this?" Mr. Weasley interfered.

"He doesn't know. Yet." She pressed her lips together. "Can you please give him this if he comes?"

Harry stared down at the envelope and exhaled deeply. Then, his green eyes met with Anastasia's and he then knew that she wanted to leave as soon as possible, he knew that she was doing the right thing for herself, but deep in his heart he knew something was missing. There was something she wasn't telling them.

"You promise me you'll owl us every time you can?" Harry asked with a low voice.

"I promise." The brunette half-smiled as she stretched the letter for him to take it. Harry stared at it once more before taking it. "Thank you."

"Please be careful." Hermione cried as she hugged her friend tightly.

"Goodbye." Anastasia whispered as she finished hugging every member of the family. "Thank you for everything you've done for me. I hope one day I can have the opportunity to return the favor."

"Oh, don't worry, my dear. You're a member of the family and that's what families do: help each other."
