I woke up the next day early for school, as I needed to catch up some work from being ill. I couldn't sleep that well anyway, thinking what I what I had to do. The sore throat had disappeared luckily but I still needed to watch how much I shouted or how much talked. I threw on my patterned leggings and decided it was warm enough (even though it's like the middle of November) to wear my white TOMS (Louis isn't the only person who loves them) and wrapped up. I grabbed my bag and made a quick exit, saying a quick goodbye to the family.
Throwing in both my headphones, I braced the cold morning air and pressed shuffle on my ipod as I walked. The first song that came on was 'Sorry for Party Rocking' which made me smile. This song makes me feel good as I walked the familiar path to school.
I reached school in plenty of time to go to my locker, pulling out the books I need for the day. As I closed it, I noticed a picture peeling off my locker; me and Mercy at the 1D concert, laughing together. I sighed as I closed my locker, locking it. I turned to the right and jumped out of my skin when 3 young girls were standing in front of me. 2 were giddy with eagerness and the other was burning with jealousy, glaring at me. I raised my eyebrow at her and she shifted a bit.
"Ummm hello?" I said, when they didn't speak. Eager 1 and Eager 2 (I decided to name them that) giggled me, and Jealousy smirked.
"Are you Summer Malfoy?" Eager 1 said. Oh now I know what this is about. Looks like they have finally found me.
"That's me!" I say wearily, hoping to get out of here soon. Eager 2 tries to contain a squeal and fails. Jealousy seems to go green.
"You know One Direction don't you? OMG! Can we have a picture, and are YOU the blond girl Nialls been dating?" The Eagers fire questions at me and I cant help but smile.
"Yes, I know 1D- Yes you can have a picture and for the last one.....no I'm not" I didn't think it was good to promote it to the world as it wouldn't last any longer. That thought scared me.
After the picture, they give me their twitter names and I promised to give them to the boys, they run off squealing, making me laugh at their fan-girl ways.
"Wow you even have your own fans now! Life must be spiffing for you!" a sneer comes from behind. It sounds wrong with that voice. That voice shouldn't speak like that. I know that voice.
I spin slowly and face Mercy, and I see her evil smirk falter as she takes in my face. I sigh and say "look Merce, why can't we just be friends again, like back in middle school? We can make cake out of rainbows and smiles....." I trail off, smiling at the Mean Girls quote. I see the conflict in her eyes and it seems like she was about to crack when.....
"WAZZZZUP BEZZUMMMS!" I spin the direction I was just facing and saw Colette, beaming in her usual hyper self. Luckily she seemed to have recovered from her time of being quiet and brooding, like I knew she would. I turned to the spot Mercy was just in, to see that she has gone. I frowned; I thought I was getting through to her finally.
"What?" Colette whispers over my shoulder. I turn back to her (Woah I'm doing a lot of turning) and say with a smile"Nothing. Let's go."
"So what are you doing after school?" She starts, as we walk to our first lesson; choreography.
"Oh nothing, homework, singing, breaking up with Niall" I add nonchalantly, making her spit out her hot choc and choke. I helped her breathe again, then regretting it after.
"What?!? Oh, well that's a good idea, you don't want to string him along. He will be heartbroken though" she said, gobsmacked and almost...happy? Why was she happy I was breaking it with Niall? Probably because she think it is best but had a permanent worried look on her face still got me confused again.
I walked out of school, trying to psych myself up for this and trying not to just run and hide. I turned on my phone on and saw that I had two messages; one from Niall and one from Mercy. Nialls read:
Sender:Horeyxox
Hey babe, I'm SORRY I can't make it today, I have too much on and management said no. But I will see you later yee? N xx
I sigh in both relief and annoyance as I replied;
Sender:Summer
No problem hun, next time maybe <3 give my love to the cheeki monkees.
Content with this answer, I moved onto Mercys text.
Sender: Merce
Meet me by the newsstand in 2 mins x
Confused, I looked up to see her standing there, with a Galaxy in her hand and a repentant look on her face. She gave a small smile and I knew she was deeply sorry.
We ran towards each other and collided; hard. Both groaning from impact and laughing. "Im sorry" we both said at the same time, making us laugh again.
"You have nothing to be sorry about, I was a horrible jealous person and a bitch and-" I cut her off by stuffing Galaxy in her mouth.
I grabbed her arm and we began to walk to my house. I had A LOT to fill her in on!

"Sooooo, youre dating Niall, and you like him, but you really like Louis and you want to be with him" She said slowly, staring at me in shock. I nodded sagely.
Then I realise she is laughing. I smack her hard and shout "This isn't funny!"
"I know I know, I laugh when im confused." I knew that was true, so she got out of thatone alive.
Then my phone buzzed; an incoming call. I grab it before she could see and I answered it.
"Helllllo, Summer Malfoys phone, how may I help" I say in a secretary voice, laughing.
"I am here to request a meeting with this Miss Malfoy" A voice that many girls would scream over replied. As the Rizzle Kicks/Olly Murs song goes, Ma heart heart skips a beat.
"Im sorry, Miss Malfoy is fully booked up I'm afraid, the only available day is 31st February!" The chuckle from the other line made my heart melt. My grin widened, as I fidgeted with the hem of my shirt, under the watchful eye of Mercy.
"Ah well that's a shame, she will never get to see my surprise I had planned....." he trailed off. He knew I love surprises and I laugh to myself.
"Ahh! And what is that surprise?" I say in a sugary sweet voice.
"She will have to find out. Meet me at the Blue Dragon in 30 mins and find out" He hung up and I squealed.
"Let me guess, Louis?" Mercy said. I nodded and she helped me get ready.
I wore a simple dress and Nike trainers and natural make-up. Mercy offered me a lift, and I showed her the way. "Good luck" she said and I smiled, happy that I had her back.
I walked into the cute restaurant, looking around, spotting him. I walked to him and he encased me in a hug. I inhaled his scent and realised this is where I belonged. I pulled away and looked into his smiling face and smiling back. He took his hand in mine and led me to a private area overlooking the garden.
We have a lovely meal, just talking and laughing, and soaking each other up. His smile never falters to make my heart skip and I realise that I will have to break his heart; either tell him or him finding out (which is way worse).
We get up to dance to the slow music and slowly kiss (something I have been dying to do all night). We just spin, looking into each others eyes.
"Im breaking up with Niall" I whisper, as there is need to say it louder, he is so close. He frowns but nods, knowing its for the best.
I lean in for another kiss and feel my blood pump faster at his touch, tingles left my skin where his hand brushes and the scent that I would never hate fill my brain, making everything hazy.
This is probably why I didn't notice the figure come round the corner. This is why I didn't notice the figure do a double-take and stop. This is why I didn't notice Niall Horan enter the room.
"Summer?!" His Irish accent leaked through, along with the pain of betrayal. I had definitely noticed now, as I detached myself from Louis (who had also noticed, and was scared). I turned to him and opened my mouth, but no words came out. For once, Louis too, we were speechless.
"Louis?" He spoke again, turning his gaze to his best friend, his voice more vulnerable and defeated. No answer again.
We had no words, we didn't look at each other, we had no explanantion, we had no breath, we just had the moment where Niall Horan seemed to crumble.
And It was ALL my fault.
His face seemed to hardened as he turned away, his head hanging. But he stopped and turned back, his eyes wet. "How could you" was all he said, before he turned away.
In true Shakespeare style; That is the question.
