*Jaydon’s POV*

“I vant to suck your blood” Dale said jumping out at me wearing a vampire costume. I’ll have to admit he did look good in it. He even dyed his blonde hair black and slicked it back. His makeup looked good as well; the false teeth and the fake blood really made him look like Dracula.

“Oh no! Someone save me from this vampire” I laughed.  “What is it with everyone and Halloween here? Everyone’s dressed up in a costume”

“Vat’s because, the un-dead need to be vorshiped. Voo understand?.” Dale said still using his bad impression of a Transylvanian accent.

“Lose the accent; I don’t understand a word you’re saying”

Dale laughed and took out his vampire teeth. “Nah, it’s because Halloweens the one holiday, were the likes of us can actually be happy and express ourselves” Dale noticed my confused face so rushed in to explaining a bit more. “I mean like, well okay there’s no way to put this nicely… but almost everyone tried to kill themselves because of family issues or something of the sort, and like when the likes of Christmas or Easter comes around, we’re alone on the day you’re supposed to spend with your family. Halloween and Bonfire Night are pretty much the only holiday which is not family centred so we take full advantage to that.  Plus Halloween is amazing” Dale finished laughing.

Dale began rattling on about how amazing Halloween is but I wasn’t exactly listening to me. I was too busy thinking about what he had just said. It was true; from now on I’m alone. It’s not like I wasn’t before but this time it’s different. No more Christmas or birthday presents from Amy or any of my friends. No more going out to parties with friends. No more good times, laughter, jokes. Anything that was remotely happy in my life gone for good. I’m all alone.

“Jaydon?  What’s wrong Jay?”

When Dale said my old nickname that was it, I let my tears fall. Not caring who looked or what they thought. I fell into Dale’s chest who quickly wrapped his arms tightly around me without saying a word.  I cried into Dale’s chest, with every sob that left my mouth Dale’s grip tightened around me.

I have no one. Okay, I might have Dale and Brandon but I know they won’t be around for ever. I don’t even know why they’ve even stuck around this long. They’re the only two people have given me the time of day in this place. Evan hates my guts even though I can’t recall ever doing anything to cause this hatred.  The day he locked eyes with mine was the day he decided he hates me. Jared doesn’t like me because Evan doesn’t like me, and I can tell I get on Jace’s nerves. Eventually Brandon and Dale are going to see how much of an inconvenience I actually am and leave me like everyone has.

“I’m sorry” Dale said, after I calmed down a bit.

“What for?” I asked looking up at him. He looked like he was about to burst out in to tears as well.

“I made you cry”

I laughed lightly. “No. It’s fine, I was just thinking of what you said…It’s true… I’m all alone”

Dale looked down at me. “That’s not true… You’ve got me. That’s all you need”

I looked up at him and did the thing I never expected myself to do. I kissed him. It was a nice kiss. His lips felt perfect against mine, so soft and tasteful. When we pulled away Dales face broke out into the biggest smile I’ve ever saw him were. His arms wrapped around my waist pulling me closer towards him. He lent in for another kiss but just as our lips were about to touch again, Evan walked down the corridor. My first thought was to jump away, but I decided not to. Why should I? It’s not my problem if he gets angry again. Dale’s grip tightened around my waist, when he saw Evan. I think Evan saw this as well as he kicked the wall as he walked past. I looked back up at Dale who now had a smirk on his face, before I could even ask what he was smirking at his lips were pressed against mine.

His tongue licked my bottom lip wanting to be let in, so I let him. Our tongues danced around each other’s.  I closed my eyes and I savoured every moment I could, taking in the sweet taste of Dale, the way he tongue felt against mine and how his arms where wrapped tightly around my waist. Everything was perfect.

All of a sudden Dale’s lips were ripped apart from mine. I looked around slightly dazed and confused and found Dale lying on the floor covered my Evan. I’d completely forgotten Evan was there and watching us. I had no idea what Evan was telling him as his voice was to low and hushed for me to hear but whatever it was it was having an effect on Dale. He looked terrified.  Dale’s eyes flicked back to me quickly, and it seemed like seeing me made something change. He began whispering back to Evan, hate gleaming in his eyes. I saw Evans arm twitch and his fist began to clench. The minute he began to raise his arm, I knew I had to do something before he hit Dale.

“Stop!” I shouted… A second too late.

“YOU FUCKING IDIOT!” Dale said with a face full of blood, from the looks of it Evan’s broken his nose.

Before I could even pull the two apart, they’d started a vicious fist fight. I stood there not knowing what to do. Every time I waked over to stop them, one of them would scream for me to stop.

Dales fist were now pounding into Evans face. The both of them were covered in blood. Dale stood up and dragged Evan up with him. Evan looked terrible, he could barley keep his head up. Dale pinned Evan up above the wall, but before Dale could even lay a finger on him, Evan pushed him off hard causing him to fall to the floor.

“I hope you and him are fucking happy together “Evan spat out, well at least that’s what it sounded like considering he had a mouth full of blood.  Evan left, but not before giving Dale a swift kick to the face.

I’d barely taken two steps towards Dale when Jace came around the corner dragging Evan along with him.

“You 3. My office.”  Jace barked at the 3 of us.

Not knowing where Jace’s office was, I trailed behind and let them lead the way.  Jace swung the door open and gestured for us to step inside. He slammed the door shut once I’d stepped in.
Jace’s office was quite spacious; there was a big brown mahogany desk pushed against one wall, which was painted blue, with a grey metal filing cabinet on its left. Each drawer had a label on it, with two letters.  That must be where they keep all the student files.  On the other wall there was a giant notice board filled with various bits of paper, and few dozen ‘Thank You’ cards. The other walls were filled of photographs. I didn’t take much notice to what was on each picture, but I got the idea that there were boys who had come to or attended this god dam awful “school”.  Several, giant blue bean bags filled one corner of the room, with coffee table beside them.

Evan sat back into the beanbags; Dale was sitting on a black chair, which I didn’t even notice was in the room, Jace lent on the front of his desk while I awkwardly lent against the wall by the door.

Jace’s eyes flickered between the three of us. “Explain.”

We stayed silent.

“I won’t ask again. What happened?”

“Evan pushed me to the floor, for no reason at all”

“There was a reason, and you know what it is” Evan retorted.

Dale opened his mouth to speak, but Jace cut in before he could get a word out. “Dale, what where you doing before Evan came along?”

“Kissing Jaydon. “ Dale told him, looking at Evan smugly. I noticed Evan’s hand twitch slightly.

Jace looked over to me for confirmation of Dales words, I simply nodded and blushed.

I looked over at Evan and Dale and I really saw the damage each had inflicted on each other. Dale’s face make up had turned a pale pink, from the blood, and Evan’s eye had already begun to swell.

“So let me get this straight, Evan you punched Dale just because he was kissing Jaydon?”  Jace asked sounding confused.

Evan begun to get frustrated, “It wasn’t just that!”

“Then what else was it Evan?”

Evan stuttered over his words, trying to get them out but failing each time. He sighed and stood up.  “You know what just forget it? You won’t understand… No one ever does.” Evan left the room slamming the door shut.

Out the corner of my eye I could see Dale smirk I was about to say something but Jace beat me to it.

“Don’t know what you’re smirking at, you’ve got to file up a report on the incident. Not to mention fighting is against the school rules, you’re in a lot of trouble”

“But that’s not fair! It wasn’t just me!”  Dale protested.

“I know. Evan will receive the same punishment” Jace said. “You can go now Jaydon, since you weren’t actually fighting you’re not in trouble.”

I nodded and walked out quickly.

I walked into my room, to find it a mess again. I snarled Evan as I sat down on my bed; he just looked at me with a blank face.

“What?” I snapped at him.

“Don’t date Dale.” He told me.

This confused me immensely. “What?” I asked again.

“Don’t date Dale. He never sticks around, once you two have sex, he’ll be gone… You’ll only get hurt”

“Why do you care if I date him? Why do you care if I get hurt? You’ve hated me from the minute I stepped foot in this stupid place. You hated me from the minute you laid your eyes on me. Just tell me why you hate me?”

He stayed quiet for a minute. “Why did you try and kill yourself?”

Once again I was confused.  “What? Why do you hate me?”

“Tell me why you tried to hang yourself and-“

“How do you know I hung myself?” I growled. I swear to God, if he’s been looking in my files or asking Jace about me I’ll hit him.

Evan laughed once he saw my angry face. “You’re on the bottom floor of the Blue dorms. Everyone hung themselves if you live on this floor.”

“Oh.” Was all I could say.

There was a weird silence between the two of us for a moment.

“So why did you try and kill yourself?” I asked.

“Never you mind that, now…  What made you hang yourself?”

I screwed my fist into a ball in annoyance.  “You won’t tell me why you did it, but you expect me to automatically open up to you and tell you everything, even after the way you’ve been treating me?

“Pretty much yeah” He said with a shrug.

“You are unbelievable.”  I said walking out slamming the door.

*Evans POV*

It’s not my fault he reminds me of you. It’s not my fault he acts the same way as you. It’s not my fault his eyes are the exact same colour as yours. It’s not my fault I get angry when I see him with someone else. It’s not my fault I want him to be mine.

It’s not my fault I’m scared of falling in love with him because of what happened to us Michael.

It’s not my fault.

None of this was.
