Alex's POV
I heard everything Demi said to me and I felt my heart skip a beat the only reason why I took the bullet for her was because I love her then I started to see a white light and I heard Demi crying and screaming then I saw someone I thought I would never see again I saw my best friend Marley
"Hey Alex long time no see." she said
"Marley.? is that you but you're...you're dead."
"I know I am and I never left your side since the day I left remember when we use to play soccer outside my house.?"
"How could I forget we did that every single day I never forgot you I never forgot the day you left me I never told you how much you meant to me." I had tears in my eyes and she hugged me and said
" I know I always knew that you cared about me but right now you have someone who cares about you so much and she's crying right now because you let go we don't have a lot of time right now the doctors are working on you to bring you back."
"Wait before I go I wanted to tell you this ever since we were kids I Loved you you're my sister the one I never had the one that I knew since I was 3 until I was 10 everyday that went by I thought of you your parents still miss you and their having a baby soon it's a boy and you're my guardian angle you're my my-" she cut me off and said
"Your Nightingale.?"
"Yeah my Nightingale I Love You Marley."
"You should get back now Alex I love you too and before I died I left a box for you buried in my back yard under the." I cut her off and said
"Lemon tree we buried together." I said
she smiles and says
"Yeah tell my parents I love them and I've always been there for them and one more thing Alex."
"What is it Marley.?"
"Demi is the one for you I never seen you this happy before the way she makes you feel she's perfect for you and she feels the same for you, you should get going you don't want to stay here forever do you.?" she said
"Goodbye Marley." I said
"Goodbye Alex." she said we hugged each other and I hear the doctors say
"She's Alive it's a miracle she's been dead for two minutes notify the people in the waiting room Doctor stark
"Wait!" I heard Doctor Stark yell
Demi's POV
Doctor Stark runs to me and Wilmer and say's
"She's Alive I don't know how she came back but she's alive she was dead for two minutes but now everything is back to normal she's fine but she is still in a coma and there's still a small chance that she will get out of it but other than that we got her back.
I fell to my knees I couldn't believe it she came back but the doctors couldn't let me see her I cried knowing she's alive she heard me and she fought she stayed. Wilmer drives me home and I cried once I got home and I cried again falling asleep I wake up and I hear a familiar voice.
"Do you wear my Letterman jacket to sleep too wow you love it do you.?"
"Alex.? you're in a coma the last time I saw you-you were dead."
"Well I'm back and I'm here with you because you're the reason why I'm still alive your heart kept me going."
I couldn't believe it but when I went to hug her I woke up in her Jacket.It was all a dream she's not here she's in the hospital with wires strapped onto her I began to cry I felt helpless without her I hear a knock on the door I open it and it's my best friend Selena .
"Hey Demi I heard what happened are you okay.?"
"Yeah I'm fine I just miss her so much." and I broke down crying she hugs me and rubs my back
"Demi it's okay she came back that's all that matters she's alive she'll make it out of this."
"I had a dream that she was here last night she was comforting me it felt so real."
"Demi it's a sign that she's gonna make it out of this she's your-" I cut her off and say
"She's my Nightingale she saved me she loves me and I love her too she gave me this necklace and she has the other half my heart is beating with her. When the doctors said she died I felt part of my heart stop but when she came back it was beating as one again I never felt this in love before she's- she's the one I want to be with forever."
"Demi that's the sweetest thing ever she's lucky to have someone like you but I gotta ask did they find Jasmine.?"
"No not yet she escaped the night Alex got shot they haven't found her yet until they do Alex and I are under 24/7 surveillance because she's a threat to the both of us."
"Oh yeah right listen If you want I'll drive you to the mall to get your mind off things is that okay.?"
"Yeah sure I can't be locked inside my house all day
I walked in my room and got dressed and I put on Alex's Letterman Jacket on and I walked outside to see Selena already in the car.
"Nice Jacket who gave it to you.?" she says
"Alex gave it to me she's in track and all of the team members had to give their jackets to someone who means a lot to them and she gave it to me."
"Wow she really does love you does she.?"
"More than anyone can ever know and I feel the exact same for her."
We go to the mall and I see Jennifer,Hailey, Perla and Jolene they all see me and run up to me they all cried and said "Thank God she's safe." I wipe my tears and say
"What are you guys doing here.?"
"We came to buy Alex her favorite stuff like a stuffed monkey, a big card with all our signatures in it and her favorite flowers with a lavender smell to it." said Jolene
"That's really sweet of you guys do that for her she would love it."
"Would you like to sign it Ms Lovato we all know that Alex loves you and she'll love it if you did." said Perla
"I would love too." I say
"Alex you're strong and I love you so much you're my Nightingale and I know you can make it through this I'm gonna stick by you through thick and thin I love you-Demi
"She'll love this we'll see you later Ms Lovato." said Jennifer
"Call me Demi I'll see you guys Later." I smiled at them and they said
"Bye Demi See you in class next week." Said Hailey
"Their your students.?" Said Selena
"Yeah they are their all seniors." I said
We walk around the mall for a good 20 minutes and I see something that reminds me of Alex and I began to tear up Selena comes up and hugs me from behind and tells me.
"What's wrong." said Selena
"It's nothing it's just that this reminds me so much of Alex."
It was a pair it was a acoustic guitar and on the back it said "I would run a thousand miles just see you smile." and it had a engraved heart at the end of the quote
"You should buy it." said Selena
"I should it matches the one I have at home." I said
I go in the store and I buy it once were done Selena drives me home and Say something comes on the radio I sing along to it and when I was about to sing the next verse I hear Alex's voice
"Say Something I'm Giving Up On You."
I turn around and see her in the back seat it's all in my head I say Selena looks worried and pulls over.
"Demi what's wrong.?"
"I saw her I saw her she's here she's awake." I kept repeating
"Demi she's still in a coma it's all in your head." said Selena
"But she was singing she was here with me I felt her here." I said
"Demi when someone goes through a tragic event with someone the mind plays tricks on them Alex will be with you soon once she wakes up which will be for a while but for right now look at your wrists what does it say.?"
"Stay strong."
"Well right now you gotta Stay strong for Alex she'll wake up and you'll have her back in your arms again okay c'mon I'll take you home."
I get home and begin to cry I keep hearing Alex in my head but I know she's somewhere else and she can't get out of it I make dinner and I take a nap wearing Alex's Letterman Jacket before I went to sleep I look at our star and say
"Alex if you're hearing me I'm looking at our star our Nightingale star I wish you could wake up I wish you were here lying next to me and our hearts can be together as one again I love you and I miss you so much please comeback."
Alex's POV
I start to hear someone in my room and I wake up and I see one of the officers and he looks at me in shock.
"Oh my god you're awake!."
"What happened to me where am I and who brought me all these gifts." I say confused
"My name is Officer Wilmer Valderama I'm a friend of Demi you were brought in here after you were shot by Jasmine Bailey Demi's Ex Girlfriend after she kidnapped you, you were in a coma for almost 3 days and you were held hostage for 3 days you saved Demi's Life when you took that bullet for her and your friends came by and gave them to you."
"Where's Demi take me to Demi."
"Alright I will but the doctors have to clear you in order for you to leave." said Wilmer
"Thank you don't tell Demi I'm awake I want it to be a surprise."
he smiles at me and says
"Okay."
*One hour later*
After all the tests the doctor gives me some pain meds for my ribs and for the gunshot wound I got a clean pair of clothes and they let me shower in one of the rooms I got dressed and headed out the door and I see dozens of news reporters and they were asking me a lot of questions.
"ALEXANDRA HOW ARE YOU FEELING.?"
"DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY TO YOUR KIDNAPPER JASMINE."
"WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO NOW."
Wilmer helps push the crowd and I get in his car and he drives off and we make it to Demi's
"Thanks Wilmer."
"No problem and by the way you both are under 24/7 surveillance until Jasmine is caught is that fine."
"It's okay I won't mind it."
I run inside Demi's house and I find her in her room sobbing
"Demi.?"
"You're not real you're in my head you're still in a coma and I can't do anything to get you out of it."
"Demi it's okay look you need rest just fall asleep it's all okay." I say
I hug her and we lay down on the bed I'm holding her in my arms and she says
"Sing me to sleep to make this dream feel real."
I sing You&I by One Direction.
I sing the last few lyrics of the song and she falls asleep in my arms.
I wake up earlier than she does and when I walk in the kitchen I hear her wake up and she walks in the kitchen and I hide behind the piano in the living room and I hear her say
"I had the craziest dream last night."
"Really.? who was in it.?" I say
She turns around and she smiles at me and begins to cry
"Oh my god you're-you're awake I thought you would never wake up."
"You kept me going I feel like hell still but seeing you smile makes me feel like I'm on top of the world."
"When I saw you get shot a part of me died but you took a bullet for me and I-I couldn't bear to see you like that."
"I did it for you I didn't want you to hurt you I love you that much that I would die for you." I said
She cries and she hugs me tight we stay like that for a while and I couldn't be happier than I am now with Demi.
