Lucy POV
I was walking down the street with the wind in my hair. I wasn't sure where I was or where I was going. I was simply walking. No one was around. I thought it was strange seeing everything empty.
Until I saw some one in front of me. Long blond hair. Tall figure. Chocolate eyes. Mom.
"Mom!" I stated crying and running after her, but the distance between us grew and grew. I didn't care though, if fact it made me run harder and faster.
All of a sudden I fell. Not into the floor, but into a black abyss. I blinked my eyes a few times before I noticed something. A body lifeless on the floor. I started running toward hit. My heart sank when I saw a white scarf and pink hair.
"Natsu!!" I fell beside him and held him in my arms.
"Natsu wake up! Come on! Open your eyes!" I heard some one walk toward me. I looked up to see Happy and Mira. They had emotionless faces.
"Help me! Natsu won't wake up and he is cold!" I stared crying harder.
Mira smirked at me, "oh honey....he is dead," she laughed.
I could believe what Mira said. Happy looked evil with a satisfied look.
"Good. He was annoying anyway," Happy smiled.
"What?! It's Natsu! How could you be so cold!" I screamed. They vanished I to the wind in front of me. Natsu no longer in my arms.
He was standing in front of me looking pitiful.
"I should have never brought you to Fairy Tail, weakling," her kicked me and I fell backward. I fell and continued falling, until with a loud splash I was in water. I swam upward. I swam and swam but I could reach the surface. That's when I saw a figure looking into the water. Natsu stared at me. I reached my hand out trying to break the surface. The last amount of air I had escaped my mouth in a scream, "Natsu!"
He took one last look and me before turning and walking away. I was stuck in water. A never ending amount of water. I gasped and I gasped. I got colder and colder. Everything got darker and darker.
I was alone and left to die. The current ran past my ear and it seemed to whisper at me
"...ce....uce.....Luce! Lucy!"
My eyes shot open to Natsu's voice. I slowed my breathing down and felt the sweat on my forehead. I looked around realizing I was in his house. By the missing rays of light that would shine through his window I could tell in was night time. Not time to get up. I rested my head back down and sighed.
It was a dream.
A stupid nightmare.
"Are you ok Luce? You were screaming," Natsu asked.
"It was just a nightmare," I said taking a deep breath. I shifted uncomfortable, for I was laying on my stomach crushing my boobs, also cause by the huge amount of blankets on me. That's when I noticed something moved under me. What I was laying on wasn't a bed or couch... It was breathing. I lifted my head up once again to see what was under me.
Heat and blush attacked my face. I was laying on Natsu. I had my head laying on his chest before, my chest was being crushed against his abs, he had his arm around my waist, and our legs were intertwined. Natsu, however, seemed to have went back to sleep.
I started pushing my self off of him, but he grip tightened.
"Don't get up your still cold." he whispered. Cold? Memories from what happened at the rail flowed back into my head. The water, the coldness, the empty blackness. My nightmare made sense now. I knew Natsu had saved me, he always dose.
I rested my head back on Natsu's bare chest. It might have been really embarrassing, but I didn't care. I was still really cold and tired to honestly care. Plus, it was nice to be so close to him and have him hold me. I could help but smile.
I never realized how warm he was. I shifted my arms to his sides trying to hold him closer, I wanted his warmth. Right when I was comfy he suddenly moved onto his side bringing me with him.
I let a surprised yelp escaped my mouth as I was slightly tossed to the side. There was a now a good space between me and Natsu. My loss of heat made me frown.
Then I was caught by a new question. Should I crawl back over to Natsu or leave the space and just go back to sleep? I wanted to snuggle back into him, but what if he got the wrong idea? He did have me laying on him before...so he wouldn't mine, right? It still be awkward if he woke up. I looked up at his sleeping face and smiled. He did look cute while sleeping. Yes, I just said my partner was cute, but that's all he'll ever be... A partner. No way in Earthland would he return my feelings.
I stared at his face as he slept or at least I thought he was sleeping. Until he opend one of his eyes and looked at me. I widened my eyes in shock and embarrassment I felt my face heat up and get red, before darting my eyes down and pulling the cover up covering my face. The only response I got was a small chuckle, and his quick arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me close to him.
I couldn't help but smile. I wrapped my arms around him holding him closer. His heat was perfect. My eye lids slowly began to fall in to a slumber.
The nightmare started to replay in my dreams, but the ending was worse. Natsu was holding he under the water watching me drown, while my mother stood over him.
I was woken up sobbing again to Natsu screaming my name.
"Luce! It ok it was just a dream. It was just a dream. It's ok, I'm here," he repeated as a cried into his chest as he hugged me.
"I-it wa-s ter-rible, N-natsu! Y-you wer-re d-drowni-ing me a-an my mot-mother w-watched," I tried to speak while crying.
"I'm sorry, but it ok now. I won't hurt you," his voice soothed me as he stroked my hair. My crying slowly stopped.
Once my cries were little sniffles he sat up and lifted him up onto his lap. I was still clinging to him. I realized how hard I had been holding him, so I let go and rubbed my eyes with my hands. I looked at him blushing while he still held me in his lap.
He brushed my hair back, "better?" He smiled.
I nodded in return. He gave me his trade mark grin.
I took a few minutes explaining the rest of the dream that had been the same both times. He had a serious look the whole time and listened well.
"Don't worry I'd probably be crying too if I had a dream like that with you in it," he grinned at me. I laughed at his comment.
"Good you smiled. I hate seeing your cry," I blushed at his comment.
"T-thanks Natsu. You can always make me smile," I said standing up.
"Anything for my best friend!" That stabbed me in the heart. Best friend. I wanted more, but had to face the fact that nothing more was gonna happen.
I stood up and stretched, Natsu did the same. We were both startled by Happy flying in through the window.
"Happy!" Natsu hugged his friend.
"Mira has a mission for you two. She says it fit you two perfectly. I can't go though. She is sending me on a mission with Wendy, Carla, Gray and Erza," Happy floated above us.
Natsu and I exchanged glances before nodding. Natsu announced his sudden need for a bathroom and ran out. I went into the kitchen to make breakfast. I slightly heard Happy giggling before he flew out of the window again.
Something tells me this mission is gonna be interesting.
