'What the fuck!' I roared. My father and Nathan held their heads in there hands as they sat at the
Kitchen table.
As soon as Derek's scent hit me I'd ran from my sick bed, but was too late. He had took my
Precious little mate away for the second time. Rage ripped through me and I spun round putting
My fist through the cupboard door in front of me. My body was screaming in pain but I didn't
Care. Zak was missing and we couldn't find a scent trail. That bastard Derek had this planned
Good.
'You were supposed to protect him. You told me that I didn't have to worry and nothing would
Hurt him. I trusted your words!' I screamed at my father and Nathan.
'We are so sorry Nova. We tried to get him but Derek was about to rip his throat out if we took
One step near them. I sure as hell wasn't going to risk that.' Father said. He looked distraught.
As did Nathan.
'Calm down honey, we'll find him.' Mother tried to sooth me but I was having none of it.
Despite Docs orders I ran outside and shifted into my wolf. I needed to find my mate. I needed
Him by my side.

Zak's P.O.V
It's been a month since I've been here, or that's what Derek had said when I reluctantly asked
Him. A whole month! Why hadn't anybody come for me yet? I hated it here. He beat me whenever
he Felt like it, not caring that I was pregnant. I was scared. For myself and my baby. I knew it
wasn't Getting the nutrients it needed to grow as I wasn't fed each day and when I was it was three
slices Of some sort of bread and a piece of fruit.
I rubbed my belly. It had been days since I felt the little one move and I was in full on panic mode.
I couldn't lose it. It would break me and I don't think I'd be able to bounce back from that. My baby
Was due in little over a month and the fear that I wouldn't live to see my beloved again haunted
Me.
'Right, now let's have some fun.' Derek growled as he appeared in the doorway. He swung a bag in
His hand which jingled as the sound of metal falling against each other echoed round the tiny
Room.
I felt sick. My body trembled from the cold and fear that I felt. I watched wide eyed as he emptied
The bag. My breath caught in my throat as I watched him arrange all manor of horrid looking
Knives and whips on the table. I tried to hold back a sob but failed. Derek turned round to face
Me, a cruel grin on his lips.
'Whats this? Crying already? I haven't even started yet.' He laughed cruelly and took up a small
Knife before crossing the short distance to where I sat chained to the wall. 'Scream for me.' He
Hissed as he dragged the blade down my arm. I whimpered, biting my lip hard before letting out
A small cry.
Nova's P.O.V
It had been over a month since I'd been home. I was still searching for my little mate. My heart
Was breaking bit by bit each day as my searches came up empty. I'd shut my mind off from the
Rest of the pack, I couldn't stand all the constant questions they hurled my way.
'Come on, gods please I'm begging you, give me a sign. Anything. I just want to find him safe.' I
Let my tears fall as I continued to bound through the forest.
Suddenly a familiar scent hit my nose. My heart both leapt with joy and sank in fear. This was
The same smell that I'd followed the first time Derek had kidnapped Zak. It was the scent of
His blood.
'Oh god! Please let him be alright.' I opened my mind link back up to the pack, 'I've found him!' I
Yelled to everyone.
'Okay son we will be there soon. Are you alright?' My father responded, his voice sounded relieved.
'Im fine just hurry.'
I ran faster than I've ever done before. I had to get to him. He had to be alive.
Soon I came to an old house that had long been forgotten about. My mate was in here and I wasted
No time in charging through the door. The scent of his blood was overwhelming and only got
Heavier as I made my way down to the basement.
I rust through the wooden door and almost collapsed. My poor little mate was lying beaten and
Bloody on the cold stone floor, a thick rusted chain attached round his ankle. I whimpered as I
Lay down next to him. All colour was drained from his skin and he was barely breathing. I touched
My nose to his swollen stomach, whimpering as his cold skin touched it. He was like ice. I
Managed to snap the chain off easily enough and shifted back to my human form, tugging on the
Pair of trousers that had been tied round my ankle. I lifted his form from the floor with such care. I
Was afraid he was going to break in my arms. I held him close, using my hotter than normal body
Temperature to warm him up.
'Zak, baby. It's Nova. Your safe now. I'm taking you home. Stay with me.' I whispered placing a
Small kiss on his forehead.
I left just as easily as I'd entered, without any confrontation what so ever. As the abandoned house
Disappeared from view I heard the sounds of many paws running towards me. My pack.
Soon enough my fathers wolf came bursting through the trees. He ran straight to me, his eyes
Widened as he looked at my mates beaten form.
He lowered his body, lying on the ground. His yellow eyes looked up at me, telling me something I
Didn't fully understand. He growled in frustration and nodded his head towards his back.
I mouthed he word 'oh' as I realised what he was telling me. I climbed up onto his back quickly and
Carefully, holding Zak tight in one arm and a fistful of fur in the other. Once I was on he got to his
Feet and ran back through the woods, his pack following close, Nathan and my mother flanking
Either side just in case I fell.
I hadn't realised just how far I'd gone in my search and it took forever to get back but once we did I
Didn't even wait for my father to fully stop before jumping off his back and racing into the house to
Doc, who was waiting ready.
'Put him down and get out. I need he alpha and Nathan to stay and help.' He barked his orders and
I didn't want to leave but had no choice when members of the pack dragged me out. The door
Closed but not before I saw my fathers and Nathan's horrified faces.
'He will be fine. H-he's a strong boy.' My mother sobbed next to me as I sat down on the couch.
'They both will b-be f-fine.' She cried.
My heart broke. Our baby. It would break Zak if he lost it. Hell it'd break me too. I hugged my
Mothers trembling form as we both sat and shed our tears. This was going to be a long wait.
