INTRO INTRO READ ALL ABOUT IT!! All about how it all started..
*Dramatic flashback*
"Hi. " I say as I approach the new kid. His curly blond hair hangs in his face. "Do you like eggs? " I say randomly. He shakes his head.
"I've never tried them. " He replied weakly. It was almost like he was whispering. I tilt my head confusingly.
"Well sit with me at lunch. I packed my own filled with hard boiled eggs. I think you're gonna love them." I say encouragingly. His sad face drained my good mood. "Is something wrong new guy? " I ask putting my hand in his shoulder hoping it would make him feel more.. Safe.
"I have a name. " He whispered, I think.
"Me too! I'm Eden what's yours? " I told him happily. He looked down at the floor as if it knew the answer. Curiously, I stare at the floor with him. After a few seconds of staring, he replied.
"Caden. "
"Nice to meet you, Caden. " I say perky as I hoped up and stuck my arm out, hoping he would shake my hand. He slowly teared his stare from the floor to me. I smile brightly remaining hopeful.
"You too. Eden. " He said back to me as he took my hand and lightly shook it.
"I think we're gonna be good friends. " I say, even more joyful. That day I made a vow to myself. To, no matter what, stand by him even if he didn't need, want or have it. No matter what.
But these days, that vow is hard to keep. Maybe I don't want to, but first grade year old me does. And I have a soft spot for first graders. But I hope things get better because if they don't he might bring me into jail with him. Or do it myself.
