Bella p.o.v
"What's wrong with your wrist?" He asked.
"Oh this.. is nothing" I said taking my hand away.
"Bella" Jake said.
"I got in a fight at school with a girl. Things got out of hands a little" I said holding Jake shoulder for support to take my heels off, my dear I couldn't feel my feet anymore.
"That's much better" I said. I immediately seem shorter than Jacob, it made him laugh.
"You can only get shorter Bella" he said laughing slightly.
"And you can only get taller" I said starting to walk to my car. Once I reached my car Jake stop me.
"Okay now tell me what happen with your wrists" he said grabbing them again.
"A girl started this rumor about me dumping Edward because of Mike and well we got in a fight no big deal" I tried to make the lie believable.
"Bella in a fight somebody won't just hold your wrists, this seem more of a one sided fight. Meaning you didn't fight back. Which leads me to conclude that you are lying to me" he finished.
"I'm not lying to you, wether you want to believe me or not is your problem" I said scooting over for Jake to sit beside me.
"How was prom?" He asked.
"It was boring. How have you been?" I asked.
"Lizzie doesn't like me hanging out with you as much" he said.
"Its understandable, I mean she is your girlfriend. Maybe she is insecure about things, girlfriends get jealous you know" I said.
"Has she talked to you, said anything to you?" He asked.
"Umm.. why? I asked.
"Just curious" he said.
"No" I said.
"She thinks that I'm always telling her lies. That you know more about my life than she does." He said.
"Well I do, we use to play together when we were little, climb trees" I said.
"She but she thinks I'm hiding something from her, something that you know that makes you closer to me than she does" he said.
"Well I know more about your life than she does, something that she can't know, that's not your fault Jake. You can't tell her" I said.
"But it will be easier" he said.
"But you can't" I said.
"But-" he began.
"What if she takes it the wrong way. She tells people about your secret, then all of you are exposed, not just you it's dangerous. Me well I have dealt with other monsters before you if can call it that but she hasn't there is a chance she won't react too well to like the time you transform into a werewolf in front of me" I said.
"Everything is complicated. I feel like Lizzie thinks that I'm using her to forget about you" he said.
I was silent. I didn't know what to say.
"Hey remember that day when we went to the movie theater. You told me that I could always count on you. That you would never hurt me" I said laying my head in his shoulder.
"Yeah I do" he said.
"Well you can count on me too. I know that I've hurt you already too much in my opinion, but I'll try my best not to this time" I said.
"Thanks Bells" he said. I grabbed his hand and interview our fingers together.
"Why are you holding my hand?" He asked.
"What? I can't hold your hand anymore?" I asked.
"Well it has a different meaning to me then it does to you" he said laughing a little.
"Well I guess I'll have to get use to it then" I said pulling my hand away from him.
"Hey hey hey I didn't say you can pull your hand away" he said grabbing my hand again.
"You know your hand is small right, kids size" he said looking at my hand and measuring it with his. I didn't say anything. I loved feeling Jake's presence. Feeling him close knowing that I can count on him. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath sighting thinking about all the things Jake and I went through. I never actually cliff jump with Jake, maybe I can do it now without actually killing myself.
"Bella what's wrong?" He said.
"Life is sometimes hard on us don't you think?" I asked
"yeah I think so too, is something bothering you?" He asked sweetly.
"I...I...kissed Mike in prom" I said. I left Jake tense up immediately, his whole body was tense. He still cares.
"And that's bothering you?" he said huskily and coldly.
"yeah, I shouldn't have done that but I guess I thought it might help me forget somethings going on in my life" I said truthfully.
"Edward" he said his tone of voice deeper than before I've gotten use to this changes.
"No it doesn't have to deal with him. But it didn't help me, I didn't feel anything when I kissed him. I mean you are suppose to feel something when you feel or kiss someone you like right? Maybe sparks, butterflies in your stomach but I felt nothing, I feel bad for Mike that's what's bothering me" I said sighting again but in sadness, I hurt everybody I care about what a surprise.
"I don't know how to that Bella, I guess Mike will get over it eventually" He said with the same tone as before.
"Hey you want to cliff jump tomorrow with me. we never actually did it" I said changing the topic.
"I can't I'm hanging out with Lizzie tomorrow" He said.
"Oh it's fine ill just go with Angela and Leah then, it's not suppose to be cold tomorrow. Leah can teach me and Seth can teach Angela" I said thinking my plan out loud.
"Would you mind if Lizzie and I join you guys?" He asked. I was silent for a moment, seeing them together I have kind of gotten use to that maybe it won't hurt as much this time, I mean Jake will be happy.
"Sure if you want but Alice might come to join me" I said.
"Is Edward coming?" he asked.
"well I didn't invite him so he is not suppose to come" I explain.
"Okay what time should we be there?" he asked
"I'm picking the pack up at like 11 am so you guys can get some rest so" I said.
"Okay Ill pick Lizzie up at like 10;30 and we will meet you there" he said. There was silent, after a while I took my hand away from Jake's and said
"I need to go home, my dad is waiting for me. I'll see you tomorrow Jake"
"See you tomorrow Bells" He said. we got off the car. I hugged Jake and he wrapped his big arms around my waist holding me tight. we stayed like that for a while just the two of us and nobody else. I the thought that Jake is wearing shirts now unlike before I wonder why? I slowly removed myself from the hug and got in the car.
"Take care Jake. be careful out there" I said.
"don't worry" he said
I smiled and started my car, I drove off and went home. My dad was here sleep on the couch with the tv on, I turn it off and put a blanket on him, I went to my bed and fell sleep.
The next day I put some simply clothe on and ate some breakfast. I went to the Cullens house to pick Alice up. I waited a while and decided to call her
"Hey Bella" Alice said cheerfully like always.
"Hey I'm outside your house waiting for you to come out will you hurry, I still need to pick the pack up" I said.
"Bella I'm already at the place you told me to be why are you in my house to pick me up?" Alice asked confused.
"Oh I thought I had to pick you up my bad" I said.
"Yeah hurry before Edward gets out and tries talking you out of it" she said.
"Okay I'm on my way" I said.
"Bella!" Jasper yelled from the house.
"Oh hey Jasper how are you?" I asked.
"I'm good, Alice left a while ago did she told you?" He asked.
"Yeah I just got out of the phone with her actually" I said.
"It's nice seen you around here again" He said.
"Yeah thanks, graduation is almost here" I said.
"Yeah must be exciting for you" He said.
"Yeah I am" I said. I could see Edward by the window.
"Well hopefully you come around more often, we miss you even Rosaline believe it or not" He said laughing. I laughed too. Ed ward came out of the house smiling at me.
"Jasper I hate to be rude, but I actually need to go. I still need to pick up the pack , plus I don't want Alice to wait for me to long" I said.
"Oh yeah sorry about that, come say hi to us soon Bella" He said.
"I will Jasper say hi Rosaline and Emmett for me. Oh and also Esme and Carlisle for me please" I said and he nodded and wave. Edward was in my car door way faster than I could turn my head around.
"Hey Bella" He said in a charming voice that would have once made my knees go weak.
"Hey Edward" I said.
"I heard you are cliff jumping" He said.
"Yeah, it's going to be a fun experience" I said.
"You have to be careful Bella, you are very clumsy" He said.
"Don't worry Leah will help me" I said.
"Hey can I come, you know hang out as friends?" he asked.
"Edward you know I can't take you, I'm hanging out with the pack, they don't really like you. I don't want to start any drama" I said.
"But Alice is going" Edward said.
"Yeah well they don't dislike her as much as they dislike you" I said.
"Bella please" He asked.
"Edward I'm sorry. We can cliff jump another time with your family if you want but you can't come when I hang out with them. You have to understand that" I said.
"Fine" He said.
"I got to go, I'm running late bye Edward, see you later" I said and drove off to Emily's place.
I saw the whole pack ready to go, even Angela was there already.
"Sorry had some things to deal with, lost track of time, let's go!" I said. Everybody jump in and we left.
Alice was in her car when we got there. It wasn't sunny outside, it just wasn't cold. You can say warm but without a sun.
"Hey Alice" I said as she got off the car.
"30 minutes really Bella?!" She asked
"Sorry I was talking to Jasper and than Edward came and you know the rest of the story" I said. Jake and Lizzie were there as well sitting down by a tree. As I saw them I remember that Jake and I use to climb that tree all the time when we were little. I even broke my arm one time cause I fell from one of the branches.
"Alice let's go" I said pulling her with me. Once we reached the tree Alice gave a small smile to Jake and he did the same.
"Hi I'm Jacob's girlfriend, Lizzie" Lizzie introduce herself to Alice.
"nice to meet you" She said.
I started climbing the tree.
"Bella what are you doing?" Alice asked.
"Climbing the tree what else does it look like I'm doing?' I said in a duh tone.
"Why?" she asked.
"I want to se something coming?" I asked
"Okay, but be careful I don't want you broking an arm Edward will kill me" She said.
"No he won't" I said laughing.
"Oh Edward is your boyfriend, right?" Lizzie said looing up at me as I kept climbing.
"No, he is my ex boyfriend, but he is my friend" I said looking back at her really quickly as I kept climbing.
"Bella, how are you so god at climbing trees without falling to your death" Alice ask right behind me.
"I used to be an expert in climbing trees when I was little. Jake and I use to climb them all the rime, of course he use to win when we would race but I was a good second" I explain as I sat right in a branch t to admire what I was looking for.
"Okay, now what?" She asked.
"Look, Jake and I wrote this in the tree when we were 6 or 7, I think a week before I left to Florida" I said.
"That's really sweet, you guys should to be really close huh?" she asked.
"Yeah we were, my dad use to take me to his house everyday after I finished my homework" I said.
"Alice can you break this branch for me please" I asked and she did it so easily. I wrote, I'm here in the shadows of the dark clouds and under the sun, I'm always close if you ever need somebody to cry along with you. Just turn around and look away from the sun, you will see me waiting for you to come cause the truth is, I always feel like crying when I'm invisible to you,- Bella.
"Okay ready to go down?" She asked.
"Sure let's go" I said.
"Wait I didn't know Jacob had a girlfriend, when was this?" She asked.
"I don't know they have been hanging out for a long time, after I hurt Jake's feelings, he never called me or anything and we drifted apart and then she came to heal his hurt if you can say that" I said.
"Oh sorry about that, I know you don't want to talk about Edward but you can use some company and well Edward needs it too" Alice said shyly.
"Alice please don't start with tis right now, I want to hang out with you without talking about Edward" I said as I saw her jumping wit ease.
"I'm sorry Bella I just had to" she said. I looked at the floor and saw her
"Because you wanted to or because Edward wanted you to?" I asked jumping to the floor.
"Cause I wanted to" she said.
"Okay now lets cliff jump!" I said pulling her along. I was standing next to Leah and Seth along with Alice.
"Okay how do you do it?" I ask Leah.
"Like this" Paul said looking at me and smirking jumping off the cliff.
"Easy, lets go Seth" Angela said. Seth grabbed her arm.
"Lets teach you guys first" he said.
"Good idea" i said. He showed how to jump and how to land and when too also.
"Okay" I said.
"Let's go" Angela said grabbing Seth and holding his hand.
"See you down there Bella" she said and I nodded. I heard them say 'okay' and then all I could hear was Angela screaming before hearing a splash. The rest of the pack jumped.
"Okay are you ready Lizzie?" Jake asked softly grabbing her hand.
"I'm a little nervous Jake we won't die right?" She asked.
"We won't die right?" I asked Leah and Alice.
"No" they both said.
"No you won't I got you nothing will happen to you" he said.
"Jake" she said.
"If you don't want you don't have to" he said supportingly.
"No no I want to let's go" she said squeezing his hand. They got close to the edge of the cliff and Jake kissed her forehead and then I couldn't see them anymore.
"Who do you want to go with?" Leah asked.
"Umm.. I can't choose you guys do I don't care" I said.
"I'll go first. You go with Bella" Alice said jumping off the cliff.
"Leah.. I'm scared" I said.
"I know your hands are shaking but if bitchy Lizzie did it so can you let's go don't think about" she said grabbing my hand.
"Okay" I said looking down, it was really high.
"Wow I can't believe I jump off this thing" I said.
"Yeah me neither" she said.
"Ready?" She asked and I nodded. She pushed us off the cliff, I kept my eyes open, screaming so hard and Leah laughing by my side.
"This is fun" she said.
"OH MY GOD!" I screamed and then I felt wet. I was under the water swimming.
"That was fun" I said.
"Yeah" Alice said. We were talking. Then everybody came together, Lizzie was behind me, I left her kick me in the knee,
"Bella what's wrong with your wrists?" Alice asked.
"Oh-" before I could Finish Lizzie grabbed my leg and pulled me under water, I struggle to get back up but she wouldn't let me, I was running out of breath until finally Alice pushed her away slightly harder than she expect, cause she whined in pain. I felt her pulling me up and then Jacob saying
"Keep your hands off my girlfriend" angrily.
"Then tell her to keep her hands off Bella" she said equally as mad.
"I didn't touch her, she pushed me and tried to drown me Jake, she hates me, she is jealous that I'm your girlfriend" Lizzie said starting to fake cry.
"Bella why would you do that?!" He said yelling at me. First time he has yelled at me.
"I-" I began.
"She also hit me a few days ago after I left your house she was waiting for me. She told me stay away from you" she said in between sobs.
"I CANT BELIEVE YOU BELLA!" He said.
"Don't yell at her" Alice defended me.
"STAY AWAY FROM HER UNLESS YOU WANT THIS TO GET UGLY" he threatened. My heart crushed. I felt my eyes starting to fill with water, but I'm not going to let Lizzie see me cry.
"Fine I won't, I can promise you that" I said swimming away to land and climbing trees, Leah and Alice were behind me, everything was quiet, I climbed as fast as a human can manage too. Alice and Leah were there seconds after I reached the top.
"Alice can you drop me home, I have to leave the keys in my car so Seth can drop Angela and everybody else off" I said cleaning my tears.
"Yeah no problem, want to come?" Alice asked Leah.
"Yeah, you mind if I stay with you for the night" she asked me.
"Not at all" I said. We all got in the car, we saw everybody coming back. Seth looked mad probably because Angela told him the reason why I had those bruises in my wrists. I smiled and he smiled back.
"Lets go now please" I said without another word Alice drove off.
Jake defended his girlfriend over me, what a surprise. But the fact that he threaten me, maybe even to hurt me, that I cant take it!
