The entire ride to the hospital I couldn't stop thinking about what Seth had said. The scene kept on playing in my head. And the smile that had appeared refused to fade away.

"Nice catch"

"I know"

"What does that even mean?" I asked myself.

I walked into the hospital room and found Dad sleeping in an uncomfortable position. I smiled. I softly shook his shoulder.

"Dad?" I whispered "Dad wake up."

"Hm?" He hummed.

"Wake up your going to hurt your neck." I continuously tapped his shoulder.

"Alright, Alright I'm up." He mumbled.

"Here I brought you breakfast." I handed him a few cookies and the bottle of milk.

"Shouldn't you be in school?" He rubbed his eyes and yawned.

"You really expected me to go to school?"

"Well I know your mother would want you to."  The atmosphere of the room became tense.

"She wouldn't go to work if the situation was reversed." whispered to myself. "I'm gonna head home. I have to finish cleaning the kitchen."

"Sweetheart you don't have to do that. You've had a rough time and I'm not just talking about this." He sighed heavily and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"It's fine Dad." I forced myself to say. He lifted his brow in question. "The best way for me to move past this is to fix the situation to my best effort."

"I know, trust me I know." He closed his eyes in thought for a minute then opened them again. "Alright, I guess there isn't much I can do to stop you. Just... call me when you get home?"

"You know I will Dad I'll see you later, okay?" I kissed his head and gave him a side hug. I walked over to my mother who lay still on the hospital bed. I gave her a soft kiss on her head -like the last time- and I walked out.

I walked inside the door and immediately the phone rang. I put my bag down and pulled my phone from my back pocket.

"Hello." I answered without checking who it was.

"Faye!?" I heard Ryan yell. His voice was shaky and he seemed to be out of breath. "Where have you been! I called Izzy and you weren't at her house today! I also called your phone and you didn't answer! What the hell Faye do you know how worried I was?! And it doesn't help that you didn't even tell me what happened!"

I just stayed quiet while he yelled and lectured me. He had good reason to worry, and yell at me. I would have done the same to him. About five minutes later he concluded his yelling and I took that as the sign to 'explain' myself.

"Are you done?"

"I-yes." He sighed.

"Good. Ryan my mom," My breathing became heavy. "She, she um...." I could feel the familiar sting of tears in my eyes. " She's in the hospital, and she's unconscious."

"Faye are you at home right now?"

"Yes."

"I'm coming over. I'll be there in a few."

"Okay." I softly whispered wiping the spilled tears from my eyes.

And as promised no later than ten minutes later Ryan was knocking on her door.

"Hey." She said awkwardly

"How you holding up?" He asked concerned.

"I'm dealing with it. You know I'm a tough girl."

"Yeah." He laughed lightly. "I'm just worried for you. You've had a pretty rough year now this?"

"Sometimes I think... did I do something wrong? Was a really that horrible that I deserve it?" I sobbed.

"Faye don't say that." Ryan enveloped me in a comforting hug and caressed my hair. "You did nothing wrong. You're an amazing kind hearted person. You are beautiful inside and out." I laughed wryly.

"Thanks, but just because you think that doesn't mean the universe does."

"Faye, look at me." He gently lifted my chin. "You are just a girl whose had a rough life. That doesn't make you horrible or mean it just means you've been through challenges. Granted they were heart breaking, painful, annoying, frustrating, depress-"

"Ryan whatever it is your trying to do it's not helping."  He chuckled.

"What I'm trying to get at Faye, is that you and I have been friends since I stole your gushers in the third grade. I know you Faye and I promise you that whatever happened in the past was because of other peoples mistakes not yours. So don't ever say that you've done something wrong or that you're a bad person. Okay?"

"M'kay." I mumbled fiddling nervously with my thumbs.

"Now let's get you something to eat."

"What? why?" I laughed at my best friend.

"Because." He said matter-of-factly. "Food fixes everything but, mainly cause I'm starving!" He groaned and held his stomach. I laughed at him and rolled my eyes.

"Alright let's get going before you die of starvation."  I sarcastically stated.

"It's very well possible." He smiled while I grabbed my stuff and we drove to the nearest MacDonald's.

Author's Note:

Sorry for the long wait :'( I have been to distracted to concentrate on my book or anything for that matter. So I know this chapter is boring and it's sooooo dramatic but, it's really just a filler chapter. Just so Faye could finally tell Ryan what happened and get that out of the way.

Next chapter is going to be a lot better cause Seth is in it!!!! More cute and funny Fayth moments to come so keep reading . Stay golden my beautiful reader's.

Love Always,
