I enjoy leaving cliffhangers unsolved ohohoh.
____________

I woke up from what I was dreaming.
I felt a strange sensation run through my body. It seemed as if someone was watching me. But that wouldn't make me wake up so suddenly.

I noticed something else.
Aura.

I felt an aura in the room... or even more than just one. I still had my eyes closed, but when I felt it coming from right above me, I opened them. I was facing a demon.

He suddenly grabbed my arms an pinned them above my head. "Don't make any sounds if you don't want all this people to die." His aura wasn't that powerful, but I felt others outside the building, he wasn't probably alone.

Wrong decision to send only one man to do the job. I knew this demon had bad intentions, but he was weak. I could stand against him, unlike with Sehun and Kai, I had a chance.

I happily smiled to him. I caught him off guard, so he slightly let go my hands because of the surprise. That was my moment. I easily freed myself and pushed him away. I didn't want to wake up the other servants, so I ran out of the room. I could quietly deal with him in the hallway, hoping that the demons outside wouldn't notice us.

As I went out of the room I heard steps; someone was coming upstairs. I didn't feel their aura though, so they were probably innocent humans. I couldn't let them see this or hurt them because of that damn demon.

I ran in their direction to tell them to hide. They were on the stairs. I didn't even had the time to think about what happened.

One of them grabbed me, making me slam against the wall, but it wasn't that hurtful. He was in front of me.
"Don't move and let Suho do the work." He whispered. What was with all of these people?
I didn't enjoy listening to orders, so I tried to get out of this position, but the man didn't let me. He even gently patted my head, I didn't expect that coming.

In the meantime, the other man -the one called Suho- was already in the hallway. I heard a fight going on but it was soon over. He was coming back for us.

"Who are you?" I briefly asked the man standing in front of me. I couldn't see much because it was still night, but I noticed that his clothes seemed to be dark. Either dark blue or black, but I didn't feel any aura coming out of him. I assumed he was a noble, but how did he come here and why?

"Err, I'm Yixing, but you can call me Lay. I prefer it." He replied.
"Lay? Why are you here? Why did you help me?" Before he could answer me, Suho was next to us, gesturing him with his hand to come closer.

They probably didn't want me to hear, but I did anyways, Suho's whispers were pretty loud.
"They found her. She won't be safe here." He told Lay. They were talking about my safety?

I didn't know if they were trustworthy though. But running right into the group of demons outside didn't seem the best of the ideas too. They saved me, okay, but I didn't really need help with that weak demon. But I eventually decided to stick up with them at the moment. They didn't seem evil and maybe they knew what was happening.

I focused on their whispers again.
"If we take her away now, how will be able to contact Sehun and the others?" Lay was talking.

Sehun?

"How do you know Sehun?" I joined the conversation. Sehun is a demon, they're humans, so how-

"We work together and it seems that you were listening to us. Nobody told you eavesdropping is bad?" Suho said to me. So Sehun left someone to check on me. "Well, it's your fault, those weren't whispers, even a grandma could hear you." I retorted back. "Suho, I know you're nervous, but this isn't the time to fight with the halfblood." Lay tried to calm the atmosphere.

I felt sympathy for Lay. He was nice.

"Right, I'm sorry Lay, as a leader I should be more responsible." Suho apologized.
So he was their leader, huh?
"You're the leader? Isn't it Sehun?" I curiously questioned. Lay and Suho both laughed.

Lay looked at my arm, he told me he could make me feel better and he slightly touched the place where I was hurt. All thanks to Sehun and his gentle manners, may I add. I instantly felt better, as if I didn't have anything anymore.

But wait, Lay had powers? He wasn't human afterall?
"..Are you perhaps a demon too?" I looked at them.
"Did you just notice?" They spoke in unison.

"But you don't have an aura at all! How is it possible? I thought I was the only one who could do it because I'm a halfblood." I was sincerely convinced it was so. They explained me that even a pureblood demon could do it, if he concentrates enough and they did it to help me, the other demons couldn't feel them.

"They probably noticed he hasn't come back yet. They're going to get here soon, we need to go." Suho had a worried face and I understood him. We needed to go away in order to hide, fighting them was useless, because other demons could arrive in the meantime; they knew where I was now. They'd probably hurt the servants too and I didn't want that to happen.

Truthfully, I didn't entirely get what was going on, but Suho and Lay seemed nice people. They didn't want to hurt me at least. I thought I could give this a chance. It was surely better than staying at Naryssa's place alone with all those demons searching for me. I assumed it was because of the mark Sehun told me I had, it meant something and if I wanted to know what, this people could help me get to him.

I asked them about the mark, but they shrugged it off telling me it wasn't the time to know about it yet and that they weren't the ones who should tell me the story. I felt as if it was Sehun the one mainly involved in this.

We heard the demons come eventually, but we were ahead. We got out of the building from a window in the Crafting Room, which was on the first floor so it wasn't high at all.

Without our auras interfering we could pass unnoticed as humans... if it weren't only for the clothes. Two demons in black with a 7th ranked girl? That was really suspicious.

"We should go to Perys." I heard Lay. Was he serious? Perys is literally next to Ferys, they even had similar names because they were pretty much the same city just divided in two. In Perys lived humans, in Ferys demons. I explained the same to Lay, hoping that he would come to his senses. Demons would be too close to us there.

"No, I think I get it," Suho explained "going to Perys or Ferys is the least expected thing that we would do because of what you just said. So nobody is really going to search for you there, they'll just assume you're clever enough to go in a place far away from demons. They'll probably go through all the small villages here. So, if we actually take you to Perys, because we can't take you to Ferys, you'll be recognized as a halfblood right away there because of your weak aura, we can pass as humans in Perys and hide for the moment." Suho explained to me while Lay was simply nodding.

I must admit it was a clever plan. "But our clothes are a problem." I noticed.

Suho and Lay looked at me.

I can't believe we're stealing clothes.

We managed somehow to take some purple attires that were hanging to dry in a small village near the two big cities. Some of them weren't even fully dried yet, but I couldn't care less. Woah, never thought in my life I could feel as a 5th ranked person.

The sun was rising when we arrived to Perys. But Suho puntually told me the sunrise had passed an hour ago. I didn't even notice how much we walked and I probably slept only two or three hour in my bed, great.

It was the first time I was going to one of the cities. I've always been only in my village and some others nearby. Perys was protected all around by water. We must cross one of the bridges to enter and so we did it. The guard let us pass even though we were suspiciously early in the morning.

"And now? What do we do now?" I asked the two demons. We were sitting on some stools left out in front of a small atelier. They were probably there to be thrown away soon.
"Now, we wait for the others to be reachable." Suho replied to me. Lay was quietly playing with a broken part of his stool.

"Reachable?" I was new to all of this abilities demons had.
Suho explained that too. "We can let them know where we are by creating a really intense and strong aura, we recognize each other's aura, something that we can do because we're from the most powerful families. But we can't at the moment because they're at the Base, our headquarters, which is... how can i say? Aura-proof. They can't feel our aura and we can't feel theirs, but they'll make us know when they come out by doing what I just explained to you."

I wanted to ask so many questions, but I decided to keep quiet because I didn't want to stress themout. They both seemed pretty tired.

After we rested a little bit there, we started to a little tour of the city. I felt happy somehow. Leaving Naryssa and my life as a servant maybe wasn't so bad afterall. I felt free. I lived my life in the shadows and now I was finally feeling alive. But in danger.

We went past the main streets of the city, there were many ateliers and some curious things we didn't have in our village. At some point, we arrived on a smaller road, we didn't know where it brought to, but we didn't have anything else to do other than walking around, we didn't really need to hide. We couldn't even stay in a hostel because we didn't have money or anything else to trade.

Suho suddenly stopped and Lay did the same soon after. "They finally decided to go out of the Base. We can feel their auras." Suho grinned. "They'll come soon and I'll be glad to hear what took them so long, they weren't supposed to be sleeping yesterday."

___________
This wasn't one of the best chapters, I know- nothing really happens, but it's in order to explain some things like how they can "communicate" with each other and such. From the next chapter the story will truly start. I hope you'll look forward to it.~

Sorry if there some misspellings, I should really stop writing at 2-3 a.m. and English is my third language lmao

Oh, also, happy new year!
