Abu Mas'ud 'Uqbah bin 'Amr al-Ansari al-Badri, radiyallahu 'anhu, reported that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said:
"Among the things that people have found from the words of the previous prophets was: 'If you feel no shame, then do as you wish.'"

[Al-Bukhari]

First interpretation: If you have no modesty, then do whatever you wish and Allah will punish you for what you do.
Second interpretation: If you are contemplating an act and it is an act such that there is no reason to be ashamed of doing it before Allah or the people, then you may do that act.
Third interpretation: If a person does not have any modesty, then there is nothing to prevent him/her from doing anything.

"Sister!" She heard a voice shout as she slept, the voice sounded familiar but she didn't bother cracking her brain for answers as she turned around and covered herself with the blanket.

She felt a body slammed into hers and she let out a startled cry before squinting an eye open. She pushed the body off of her which resulted in the person being thrown down from the bed.

"What the..?!" The person exclaimed.

Hafsat.

That voice was Hafsat's!

It took a minute before she realized that and she abruptly got up peeping down a little to see her on the floor slightly groaning. Aysha let out a shout before she jumped on her.

"Oh lord help" Hafsat shouted feeling the brunt of her weight.

Aysha paid no heed to Hafsat instead she gave her a bone crushing hug.

"When did you come? Why didn't you tell me you were coming? I thought you were coming back next week? Weren't you supposed to land in Kano? Why the change of plans?" Aysha kept shooting questions at her.

"You have to get off of me before I can answer your questions" She gasped out.

She reluctantly stood up and then gave her a hand which she willingly accepted, Hafsat stood up gasping for air and they both plopped down on the bed.

"Calm down girl, so many questions" she teased. "To answer your questions" she stressed the last word "I came back today and it was supposed to be a surprise because of some change of plans"

"Why?" She asked confused.

"Haba mana, you are getting married in nine days and you're asking me why I'm here?" She laughed.

"Oh yeah, right" she answered the smile slowly leaving her face.

"Oh" she mimicked her "that reminds me I just saw your wedding IV, everybody is going all out for this wedding fa" she exclaimed as if saying the hottest gist.

"Really?" She asked uninterestedly.

"Yes, I think I came in with one invite sef" she said as she started to look around, she carried something from the top of the side drawer. She handed her a pouch of some sort that was made from silk. Aysha stared at the pouch as if it was a bomb of some sort before she finally slipped the pouch revealing a scroll of silk. She reluctantly rolled it out. A handwritten invitation in a silk scroll. Staring back at her was an invitation that was handwritten in a perfect cursive handwriting with a gold ink that was probably worth more than necessary, and to think all over seven hundred invitations were done this way.

"This is unbelievably ridiculous!" She exclaimed staring at invitation. It just doesn't make any sense.

"I know right! This is how all of them are" Hafsat said laughing.

She couldn't believe her family would go all out for this wedding.

"This is what I get for a supposedly low expense wedding" she muttered bitterly.

"Why would you even think you'll have a small wedding with a family like ours?" Hafsat laughed.

"A girl could dream"

"Unfortunately it'll remain to be a dream only. Anyways mama said you haven't chosen a dress yet, what is wrong with you?" Hafsat scolded.

"Well I could've if the wedding wasn't moved closer" she said dryly.

"I know but why was the wedding moved? Mama didn't tell me anything when we talked" she asked confused.

"Well you know, just Hajiya Iya being herself" she didn't want to worry her by telling her, after all the less people that know the better.

"Okay.." Hafsat looked at her suspiciously but decided to drop the case.

"Mama said I should tell you that the fashion designer is on her way and you should get ready, meet us in the garden when you're done" Hafsat said going out of the room.

Aysha got ready and came out wearing a simple denim shirt and jeans with a scarf wrapped around her hair. She went to the garden, the designer was already there, she was a very renowned designer amongst the upper class people.

Mama and Hafsat were there too, thank God Hajiya Iya wasn't there. She greeted all of them with a smile before she sat down in one of the chairs of the breakfast table set out in the garden.

She served herself a plate of pancake with maple syrup. When they finished eating they started discussing about dresses, she had a cup of tea at the side, it was the only thing that could help her go through the wedding preparation without wanting to smack someone.

The designer bought out a big catalogue because Aysha said she had no idea of how she wanted her gown to be. Just like any other girl, Aysha too had dreamt of how she wanted her wedding dress to be, but she just didn't want to make them think she was in support of everything no matter how hard they tried to make her to get involve in all the preparations. Aysha was made to choose the dresses which she halfheartedly did after her mother blackmailed her emotionally. They went to her room with the designer so she could measured her, they needed the privacy because they had to measure with very few clothing on so the dress could fit perfectly.

After they were all done they bid the designer farewell. Aysha was about to walk away when Mama talked.

"Aysha just go put on an abaya and come back we've got a food tasting appointment to get to" she said, she was already dressed to go out. Hafsat too was, she was dressed in a black abaya and a black veil.

"Mama can't you do it without me?" She asked, she wanted to crawl back to her room, the only place she found solace away from all the wedding preparations.

Mama was about to start explaining when she cut her off "you know what? Let me just go and put it on I'll be back in a jiffy" she said running back in. She knew that face, mama was going to launch into a long explanation where at the end she was going to successfully blackmail her emotionally into going.

She came back and they all entered the car, Mama was driving, while Aysha was sitting shotgun. She fiddled with the radio before stopping at a music channel.

"I love this song!" She exclaimed, before she started singing it.

"An girma ba'a san an girma ba" mama teased her.

"Haba mama, I'm still a small girl fa" she pouted.

"For where? Better stop deceiving yourself oo"

They kept on joking and laughing as they drove and that made her happy.

They arrived at the restaurant, the manager and the chef were waiting for them by the door. They welcomed them before they directed them to a room. There was a long table with covered plates on it.

In each of the plates were different food in a small portion for tasting. They tasted all the food, - with the chef explaining everything about each and every food - before they decided on the menu. They left the place after bidding them farewell. They drove to the catering shop. And they ordered the cakes for all the events after they finished tasting, they were one of the best caterers in town.

"The people doing your gyran jiki are arriving tomorrow night while your lefe is going to be bought tomorrow" mama said as they drive back home.

OMA!

The day was just like a reminder that everything was real and the wedding was really happening.
