You were a fast runner. That was until you met someone who rivaled you're speed, Zap Vargas. Zap was just as fast as you were and he always managed to show off while doing so. You approached Zap as he was talking to his teammates.
"Hey Boltboy.", you call him as he turned his head and said,
"Don't call me that." He fully turned around to face you.
"You and me, we will race around Beacon in one huge lap. Winner takes the title of the fastest one around.", you challenged him. Zap put his hands on his hips and said,
"Ha, challenge excepted Speedy Feet." The two of you shook hands and started training separately. You kept focusing on the track and stamina, while Zap focused on training his photo finisher. The day of the race came and the two of you readied yourselves at the starting line. Teams RWBY, JPNR, JGSS, DSLK, CRDN, and the rest of both Team ZFLB and your team where cheering for either you or Zap. Goji stood at the center of you two and held a flag. He threw it down, starting the race as both of you were out of there like a bat outta Hell. The two of you ran down the winding path and avoided obstacles in the way as he Zap showed off, nearly pulling past you. Zap tripped over a stump and was sent flying into the air. You stopped running and went to him.
"You ok?", you ask him as he tried to sit up.
"Yeah, think I sprained my ankle there.", Zap responded as he was helped up by you. The two of you walked the rest of the way as everyone saw you both. Somewhere in the middle of that, Zap held your hand and you felt a blush creep across your face as you helped him. After the whole race, you decided to ask him why he was always showing off.
"Hey, Zap.", you say.
"Hmm?", He responded.
"Why do you always show off when you do that stuff?", you asked.
"Well, my mom always said make the fastest runs memorable and I showoff so people remember me. When I found out you were fast like me, I wanted to impress you.", Zap responded to the question.
"So basically you're saying...", you trail off.
"(Y/N), I love you since I met you. If you think I'm a jerk I can understand.", Zap said as he looked down.
You kissed his cheek as he blushed with a smile. The two of you started you're relationship and had as many memorable moments you could have.
