After last night's surprise, everything afterwards was 'just perfect' in my opinion. Though the whole reunion thing was really emotional for us all, it was also good. It was something we all needed, especially mom and I. There were introductions, alot of apologies for what happened years ago and the cause of this whole separation, a lot of gushing over each other's kids (me, Sanya and Selena) and catching up.

Then there were reliving of past moments and telling of memories. Which I for one, listened to quite intently and interestingly. I also heard about my other relatives back in Barbados and I just hope that we would get the chance to meet and visit them over there sometime. I noticed my grandparents didn't seemed as overbearing that much as mom described them before. They didn't seem to have any issues with what we were wearing or the makeup. Not even mom's tattoos, which Grandma was the first one to notice. Her only concern was what it was, what it meant and if it hurt. It turns out that all these years, they've been living with the guilt of blaming themselves for mom running away.

I realized that mom and uncle Marten were really close before and I felt bad knowing that they had been apart for all these years. Brenda was also really nice and funny. She seemed perfect for uncle Marten. She was a high school Biology teacher and uncle Marten was a Real estate agent. Sanya was in her final year of high school and Selena was a sophomore. Their mom taught at their school which I'm thinking must suck in some ways. No one seemed to judge the fact that I hadn't been to college and was going to be starting my new job as a bar waitress or that mom was currently unemployed but planning to start seeking employment soon.

Mom had gotten a degree in culinary arts, and that was something they seemed proud of- knowing their daughter followed their footsteps with the culinary arts.

Our dinner together was quite an experience and even after we had left the restaurant last night and returned home, we spent hours over their suite catching up some more and just bonding. It was like everyone was afraid that if we ever leave or go to sleep, we'd never see each other again or we'd wake up the next day and find out that this was all a dream. Eventually at about 1:47am, we decided that we better retired to bed and that we'd catch up again first thing in the morning.

Mom was so happy and thankful that I had done something like this for her, that she hugged and kissed me for maybe a million times for the night. I ended up crashing at her apartment instead of going back to Lucas. I just hoped that he understood why I decided to just spend the night with my mom. It was such an overwhelming and emotional night for us.

"You didn't come back here last night." I heard Lucas voice behind me in the kitchen causing me to jump as I was not expecting him.

"Oh! Yeah uhmm... sorry. Last night we sort of got back from dinner a bit late and then we... we were hanging out until after one. It was an emotional night for us, especially mom. And because it was already so late, I just stayed over. I hope you don't mind." I tried explaining.

"How long are your folks in town?" Lucas asked me instead.

"I-I don't know really. My cousins; they're still in high school so I'm figuring they'll only be here a few days." I said to him.

"Then you better start spending time catching up with them in the daytimes if you planned to, because you start working tonight-that's if you still want the job..."

"Yes, of course." I answered quickly before he could change his mind. "It's no problem, I can start tonight. Uh...but what time?"

"I'll have them rotate your shifts so you'll get off earlier and be back here. But tonight you're starting at 6. You'll get paid every fortnight, you'll have to fill out an employees form." Lucas said to me.

"Oh okay." I nodded. "So uhm...am I going to take taxi or..."

"I'm going to have a car to take you to and from at nights. I won't have you running off without my knowledge." Lucas replied.

The rest of the day was spent with my mom and the family. And of course, they wanted to go out for lunch. Then my cousins wanted to go sightseeing since it was their first time in the States. We went to a cozy diner for lunch before we went sightseeing. I had to admit that I myself felt like a tourist too since some of the places we went to see, were the first time for me even though I lived here all my life. We were still out until sometime after three in the evening when I told them I had to go home because I had work later.

If I was starting work at 6 that meant that I would have to be ready by sometime in the 5o'clock/5:30pm time frame in order to drive to work and all. I told mom she should stay with them instead of cutting their sightseeing and bonding session to go back to the apartment with me. I didn't want to deprive them of the little time together.

When I got back to the apartment, Greta was there and offered me a second lunch. I still had a few minutes left before I was supposed to be ready for work, so I laid out some clothes and went to take a shower. Afterwards, I decided to catch a couple minutes sleep before work because I didn't want to be tired while working.

I didn't remember to set my phone alarm so I was awoken by Greta who told me that my drive was actually here. It was a good thing that I had decided to shower and had prepared my outfit before falling asleep. I was able to quickly pull on my jeans and blouse along with a pair of black shoes. I hurriedly brushed my hair and fix it into a ponytail then brushed my teeth, grabbed my bag and phone then ran out. Lucas had gotten a personal chauffeur for me. Which meant that things were that serious. I know for a fact that if it weren't for my family in town, I'd never get the opportunity to leave the apartment that much in only two days.

One my way to the club in the car, I added a bit of lip gloss to my lips since I didn't have on any other makeup. I didn't want to seem extra on my first time here and not to mention the fact that I overslept and didn't have much time to do anything.

When I arrived at the club, you could tell that this club was different from most. When I went to the entrance, I was stopped by a guard or bouncer or whatever the hell he was referred as. He asked me what was my business entering there and if I was a member or a partner of one of the members. I had to tell him my name and that I was hired by Lucas and that was how he seemed to be expecting me and let me in after calling someone to show me where to go. I was met by this raven hair girl with multiple tattoos on both her arms.

"You must be Amy, the new waitress. Come on, I was expecting you." She greeted with a smile surprising me.

If one should judge her by her appearance, you'd never guessed she was one to smile or be nice

"Yep, that's me." I nodded.

"Mr. Ackles already informed us that you'd be starting here tonight. I'm Morgan by the way. I'm suppose to show you the ropes and get you prepared for working here." She said to me. "Let's go to the employees changing room."

"Okay... But what do you mean by getting me prepared for working here?" I asked unsure of what she had meant.

"Well for starters, I'll have to get you changed into your new uniform-I'm sure we have your size here. Then I have to go over the do's and don'ts of working at a club like this." Morgan informed me, upon seeing my confused face she continued. "I'm sure you're aware of the type of men and people that hang out at this club. I'm sure you must know that there are rules that each and every employee here have to adhere by right?"

"Yeah I guess." I replied as I followed her into the room which had a couple rocks of bartender and waitress uniforms.

"Alright, so first things first." Morgan started as she search through the rocks of uniforms. "I was informed that you've been a bartender and waitress before so I assume you already know how to serve your customers. Second, you don't speak to them unless you're being spoken to or unless it's about their orders. You just serve a customer or table and get back to the others. Do not disturb them if you see they are in any form or conversation, just deliver their orders or drinks and leave. If any of them offer to buy you a drink, politely decline, let them know you're not allowed to drink on the job but maybe another time. Another very important thing, never and I mean ever try to disrespect, argue or talk back to any of the guys about anything. It won't end well with you. If you're convince that they were wrong, wait until the boss or his underboss is in then you make your complain. I'm guessing you already know that Mr. Ackles is the under boss. And Mr. Cavelli is the main boss and owner of the club."

"Mr.Giovanni Cavelli?" I asked even though I already knew that's exactly who she was talking about.

"Yes. So if you have an issue with any of the persons here, don't try to take it on yourself. Bring it to one of the bosses attention-they'll deal with it." Morgan replied before pulling out a hanger with a uniform set. "I'm guessing this may be your size, what do you think? Here go try it on."

"Thanks, I think it'll fit." I said to her as I took the uniform from her hand and headed to one of the small bathroom cubicle in the corner.

The uniform consisted of a black thigh lenth straight skirt, white elbow length sleeves button up shirt, black vest and a small black bowtie. As I took off my clothes and folded them, I tried on the uniform and as Morgan guessed, it indeed fit me perfectly. Luckily my choice of shoes also went well with the uniform.

There was just one issue I had with this uniform though and it was the annoying bowtie. Like do we really need to wear a tie? I came out of the changing room with my now folded clothes in my hands.

"Oh, it does fit you perfectly. I could work in a clothes store. I'm good at guessing people's sizes." Morgan chuckled.

"I guess you really are." I smiled at her.

"Look, there are some lockers over there where you can put your things." Morgan told me.

After she had gave me the locker combination, I went and put my stuff in there before following her back out front to the club. By now, there were a lot more persons here, most of who were men, or men with women curled up beside them or on their laps.

"I guess your shift is starting now. You'll come to the bar and deliver  drinks to which ever table requested them and if on your way back someone makes and order, you take that and come back her with it." Morgan said as she handed me a notepad and a pen along with a small waist apron. "Please bear in mind that every night here is always a busy night. So be prepared and good luck."

"Thank you, I'm going to be needing it." I smiled at her while taking the things before looking around nervously.

As I tucked the small notepad in the single pocket on the front of the apron and proceeded to tie it, a strange young guy came up to me.

"You're Amy right?"

"Uhm, yeah?" I answered, although it sounded like a question.

"Just a small heads up from Lucas," he said low but high enough for me to hear. "He wants to let you know, that you better not mess things up here tonight or that'll be the last. He's got eyes on you."

As my eyes widened with the warning, the guy didn't stick around any longer to hear if I had a reply or what, he just left. Trying to calm my nerves and now pounding heart, I did a quick scan around to see if I see him but came up empty. I don't get him at all, one minute he seems almost nice and then the next he was threatening me and scaring the crap out of me.

"Amy, take these drinks  over to that table. I've got to take care of table 16." Morgan called me snapping me out of my trance as she handed me a tray of drinks.

"Alright, that's the table with the guy in the red shirt?" I asked her to make sure.

"Yes." she replied.

"Okay." I nodded as I went to deliver the drinks.

I tried my best not be be too nervous as I was surrounded, and have to serve all these men who most likely have one or more guns tucked away someplace on them. I tried not to stare them in the eye either, in case any of them might interpret it as a sign of disrespect-mafia men were like that, you can't study them.

I had made it through a couple of rounds without messing up the orders or delivery or even shitting myself just put of plain nervousness.

"You're new." One of the guys who was sitting at a booth with three others said to me.

"Yeah." I nodded as I placed the bottles of beers in front each of them and turning to leave.

"Wait," The guy said grabbing unto my arm causing me to stop and looked at him, then to the hand holding my arm.

This was definitely making me uncomfortable but could I just pull my hand from him? That would seem disrespectful and Morgan already told me not to do anything like that. So I couldn't just tell him to let me go. Looking at him, he wasn't bad looking. In fact, he was quite handsome. Chocolate brown skinned with an athletic built, low cut hair, dark mysterious eyes and full lips, but he did scare me. Actually, all these men scared me. And being stuck with any of them for too long wasn't something I was looking forward to.

"What are you in for?" He asked me still holding unto my arm.

"Pardon?" I asked him confused.

"Everyone here has a story." Another guy answered. "So what's yours?"

"I don't- I don't understand." I told them knitting my brows in confusion.

"Why did the boss hired you here then?" Another one asked me.

"Oh, uhm... I was a bit desperate for a job and I begged him and he hired me. I don't have much of a story. Anyway, if you don't mind I have to deliver another round of drinks to another table. Enjoy your drinks gentlemen." I smiled at them before leaving as the guy had let go off my hand.

That was close.

Letting out a sigh of relief I made my way back over to the bar to collect more drinks.
