YN's POV
"YN, I'll understand if you can't come to the city of the night... don't need to be afraid if your answer is no." Michael spoke after the long silence between us, caused by me. I just didn't know what to say.. I was still thinking about the part, where I was never going to see my father again. "If you want, we can stay here! If you want you can stay with your father and I'll come see you! I'll do anything you want as long as you stay with me! Don't give up on me, YN... I love you too much to live without you... whatever you say.." he grabbed my hand and cupped it in his big ones "I'll do. I'm your slave, YN."
"We'll go there!" I decided I loved Michael more than anything else, besides every girl who got married, was to leave her family to be with the husband. I was a big girl now and I had to make decisions on my own. I was truly sorry about my dad but I couldn't leave Michael who was my destiny.
"Are you sure?" he looked concerned.
"Yes. I want to be with you more than anything else and if we're going to be happy in that city then I wanna go there as soon as possible, Michael! I wanna become your wife too! Make me your wife now!" I demanded.
"I'm in ecstasy that you feel this way about us, but... I can't make you my wife now."
"Why not?"
"Because we don't have time, we have to leave this world, but when we get there, the first I'll do is wed you, my love!" he kissed my hand gently. "As a matter of fact..." he let go of my hand to pull something out of his pocket - a small box.
Was this an engagement r-ring?"
"YN..." his voice trembled as he fell down on his knees, looking straight into my eyes.
"Oh my God..." I whispered.
"I-I ahh.. I've never done this before and it's been thousands of years but.." he cleared his throat and I felt my eyes becoming wet "from the moment I saw you, YN, I knew there was something very special about you and you stole my heart! You made me fall in love like never before! You showed me what real love is! You showed me that my life was meaningful and I learned what real happiness is for the first time in my life! I was buried in a tomb of darkness, emptiness and was half dead, until you showed up..."
"Michael..." I could no longer hold the tears of happiness so they fell down my cheeks.
"I'm the happiest man on earth because you loved me back and you didn't run away from me when you found out my true nature... you treated me with respect and love despite the bad things I've done.... Therefore, the one and only thing I want is to make you my wife forever! I crave for your love and for a life with you in the city of the stars! YN, would you do me the great honor of becoming my wife?" he opened the box to reveal a golden ring, decorated with many diamonds. It looked very old and expensive.
"Yes yes yes yes!" I fell down on my knees and wrapped my hands around his neck.
"No, YN, don't fall on your knees in front of me! I am the one to do that! From this day on, you are my queen and I'm your humble slave!" he lifted me up and grabbed my hand to put the engagement ring. "This ring was my mothers and it was made by the best Goldschmidt back then... do you like it, love? If you don't I'll buy you something from this era and-"
"I love it Michael! It's amazing!" I looked at it. It was very heavy "But I don't think I deserve to wear such an expensive jewelry!"
"Of course you do! You are a queen, forgot?"
"Michael, I'm so happy..."
"I'm happy too, YN." our lips found the way to each other and soon moved into perfect synchrony.
"Michael..." I broke the kiss to ask him something.
"Yes, love?"
"When do we leave?"
"Tomorrow, why?"
"I wanted to ask you if I could see my father once more before we leave for the city of the night?"
"Of course! We'll go to your house first thing tomorrow and then we'll leave. I want you to pack your things and I'll do the same. We need to let Gilbert know what we've decided too so that he can start preparing for the trip, as well."
"May I ask, where exactly are we going?"
"Romania, love... there in the deepest forest, where no human dares set foot, is the castle of a very old friend of mine. She will help us to get to the city of the night."
"Is she a vampire?"
"Yes, a very old one. She's been hiding herself from the world for a very long time, living in complete isolation."
"Is she friendly?"
"Yes, she is nothing like Adamus or Marion... or those other ungrateful fools! Don't worry. Let's go tell Gilbert."
Author's POV
Indiana state
"Is that it?" Marion asked.
"Yes. This is the place. At the end of the forest, is their place." Frank said.
"Well, then let's go what are we waiting for? Last one is a rotten egg!" Adamus yelled and started running as fast as he could through the trees to cross the forest and get first to the house. The others rolled their eyes at him and followed.
Adamus was a very fast vampire, no one could deny that but he needed not show off. Well, that was Adamus, after all. If he didn't show off, it wouldn't be Adamus.
After a few minutes of running, they found themselves in a big meadow and right after the meadow was the house of the werewolves.
Everybody stopped.
"I can smell them..." Frank said "And they can probably smell us too."
"Smells like dogs..." Melissa added.
"Why aren't they coming?" Marion asked.
"They don't know the reason for our arrival, therefore... they think we've come to fight. We have to let them know that is not the case." Frank replied and as the oldest of them, he decided he was the one to let them know and speak for his companions "I know that you can hear us!" he raised his voice "We've come with peace to speak to your leader! We seek no trouble! You don't need to be afraid of us!" in this moment, they saw the silhouettes of three man approaching them in the great distance. They were all young, tall, muscular and looked very strong. Their deep, brown eyes glistened with the spirit of bravery, masculinity and pride.
They stopped in front of the vampires and the one in the middle spoke.
"We are not afraid of anyone, especially vampires." the boys weren't very pleased to see the vampires on their grounds.
"Good to know! I'm Adamus, hi!" he gave them an evil smile "Ahm... are you the leader of the werewolf pack? I'm just asking because you seem too small for a leader..." he grinned. The boy in the middle wasn't pleased with Adamus' words at all.
"Excuse, my friend." Frank spoke before Adamus made things worse "He has long tongue, just like a snake and likes to talk too much." Adamus rolled his eyes at Frank's words. "My name is Frank, this is Marion and Melissa. The one with the long tongue is Adamus. We have come here because we want to talk to your leader from the name of all vampires."
"I think our leaders talked a long time ago and they agreed on certain rules so that we can co exist. As far as I know, one of them was for vampires to stay away from our territory, am I right?"
"Very, my friend." Frank tried to be polite.
"And what my eyes see, you're violating the rules?" Adamus sighed and said
"Talk about violation of rules..." everybody looked at him and Frank quickly spoke again.
"You are right, but we've come with peace. It's very important that we see your leader and it's exactly about violation of laws that we want to talk to him about."
"I'm sorry vampires but our race doesn't want to have anything to do with you! If someone violated your rules that wasn't us for sure and we don't care about your business! Now leave our territory before we tear you apart!" with this the three boys turned their backs on the vampires and started leaving.
"It's about a friend of yours!" Frank yelled after them "Gilbert!" the three boys stopped. "He and our leader, Dracula, have gotten into a lot of trouble. Dracula has gone mad!" they turned around, now ready to listen since it concerned Gilbert and Dracula. "Therefore, it's of a great importance that we speak with your leader."
"Come with us, vampires, we'll take you to the leader!"
YN's POV
"Gilbert, have you returned from hunting so fast?" Michael asked as we walked into the castle and found Gilbert there.
"Yes, my count." his eyes travelled to my engagement ring. "I see.. you and the young miss have had a nice time in the gardens."
"Yes!" a wide smile spread across Michael's face. "She agreed to marry me, Gilbert! And to come with me to the city of the night! From now on, she's your queen and her word is my word, did you hear that Gilbert?"
"Great.. now I have to serve a human."
"You will get used to it, my friend, you will. Tomorrow, early in the morning we're leaving for the city of night but before that, we'll stop by her house so that she can say goodbye to her father and see him for one last time."
"I see. Count... can we talk in private?"
"No Gilbert. Whatever you have to say, you can say it in front of YN."
"As you wish. I was thinking about going to Indiana and gathering a few of my people to help us along the way, after all Romania isn't in America..."
"No, they mustn't know about what's going on... "
"I think there are a few old friends of mine who would be willing to help us. I don't know if we're going to be able to protect ourselves without any help."
"We will. Werewolves mustn't know... They won't be on our side, Gilbert."
