••Johnson's POV•

Months Later...

"I think she wants the theme gold and white." I said to the wedding planner through the phone.
"Specific flowers?" She asked through the other line.
"Roses." I replied, picking up David from his crib.
"Ok, I'll stop by today in the afternoon, does two o'clock sound good to you?" She asked
"Perfect." I smiled and nodded even though she couldn't possibly see me
"Alright, toodles." She squealed before hanging up

"Toodles?" I scoffed, throwing my phone on the bed and kissing David's cheek.
"Mommy's almost home, want to surprise her?" I cooed, making him giggle. I smiled adoringly as I took off his white woonsie and laid him on our bed as I looked through his drawer. I grabbed the clothes I had bought him the other day which was very hard to hide from Alex, but I managed to do it. I then started changing David quickly and pressed a kiss on his nose once I finished.

"Now, to top it off." I said, grabbing a black beanie and putting it on his head. I chuckled at the sight, he looked so confused and adorable I still couldn't believe he was mine. I grabbed my phone that was laying next to him as I unlocked it and clicked on the camera app.
"David, look." I cooed, waving my hand like a maniac until he finally looked up and I snapped the picture and looked at it before setting it as my home screen

"Now, let's go." I said picking him up before making our way downstairs, just as I stepped on the last stair the front door opened revealing my beautiful fiancé and David's mom
"Fuck." I whispered to myself as she hung the keys on the hook.
"I guess she surprised us huh?" I asked David who was staring right at her like he agreed with me
"Guys, I'm home!" Alex yelled, clearly not noticing us yet.

"Ja-what happened to my child?" She gasped as she looked at us, I grinned sheepishly and walked towards her before handing him to her.
"Punk rock baby." I chuckled
"Oh baby, what did daddy do to you?" She asked him as she kissed his cheek repeatedly
"I gave him swag." I replied, she snickered
"He's a baby, he doesn't need swag." She said, glaring at me.

"Oh come on, admit it, he looks adorable." I teased, poking his cheek
"I guess." She whispered
"No, don't guess, admit it." I insisted
"Ok fine, he looks adorable." She admitted and smiled at him.
"Where did you get this from anyways?" She asked
"I bought it a couple days ago, it was hard to keep it from you." I confessed
"Well, he looks really cute." She smiled, pecking my lips.

"Thank you." I bit my lip and nodded
"Did you call the wedding planner?" She asked
"Yeah, she said she would be here today at two." I replied
"That's in three hours!" She gasped
"We'll be fine." I assured, resting my hands on her shoulders. She took a deep breath and nodded.
"I know, I just can't believe than in less than a week I'll be your wife." She breathed out.

"That's good, I've been waiting for that day since I first fell in love with you." I grinned
"Me too." She muttered as a blush rushed up to her face.
"I'm sure my dad would be happy that I'm marrying you." She smiled at me
"I hope so." I whispered
"He would, he was always fond of you." She assured as she caressed my cheek.
"Well, I have to thank him, because if it wasn't for him I wouldn't have you nor David." I replied

"I love you." She smiled, pecking my lips. I grabbed her waist and held her close as I moved my lips with hers not wanting to seprate until we had to catch our breaths. I smiled and cupped her face with my hand and tracing circles on her cheek
"Jack." She breathed out as we finally pulled away.
"I love you." I nodded
"I'm sorry, I'm just so nervous." She confessed

"Nervous about what?" I frowned
"It's nothing bad, I-I just can't believe we're getting married, it's just so surreal to me." She explained.
"You don't have to be nervous, we'll be fine." I assured her.
"I know that, but with you by my side I'm happy." She smiled
"I could say the same." I nodded
"And with our new addition to the family it's even better." I smiled at David who was staring at us with wide eyes.

"Huh baby?" I cooed, grabbing his tiny hand.
"I can't wait until he says his first word." Alex whispered
"Hopefully it's dad." I teased her
"Please, if anything it will be mommy." She snickered
"How are you so sure?" I asked raising a brow
"Because mom knows best." She grinned
"That's just a saying, doesn't mean it's true." I shrugged

"Says you." She scoffed
"Exactly, says me, the father of our child." I nodded
"Don't get cocky now Johnson." She warned me, I chuckled and put my hands up in surrender
"I'm just saying the truth." I defended
"Whatever." She muttered, pressing a kiss on David's forehead.
"By the way, can my mom and James stay here?" She asked shyly. I raised a brow.
"Why are you even asking that? It's your house too." I assured her

"I know, but still, it's just that they're gonna be here in a couple hours and since it's LA is a packed city there's no more hotel rooms available-and we have the wedding planner coming over later and, I just wanted to ask you." She explained to me.
"Yeah, there's a lot of things to do but family is important, especially since very soon they'll be my family too." I said making her smile
"So, is that a yes?" She asked biting her lip, I chuckled

"Of course." I nodded
"If you want when the wedding planner comes you can stay with her and I'll go pick them up." I said
"Really? Thank you." She grinned, getting on her tippy toes and pecking my lips
"You're very welcome." I smiled, licking my lips
"Cupcake?" I smirked
"I remember you liked it." She blushed

"I still do." I murmured, cupping her face.
"I love you." She whispered
"I love you too." I smiled.
"You're so beautiful." I mumbled, staring at her in awe.
"Ok, uhh-David." She stuttered, looking down at him
"David?" I asked
"We can't keep kissing with him in my arms." She explained.
"Plenty of parents do that princess." I shrugged.

"I...just feel weird." She mumbled
"Why?" I frowned.
"I don't know honestly, I guess being a mom does that." She giggled
"If it makes you feel any better, you're a hot mom." I smirked
"Actually, it does, especially coming from you." She blushed and nodded
"Good, cause no matter what I want to be able to make you blush." I said
"I don't think that's going to be a problem." She assured
"It better not." I chuckled.

"Are you hungry?" She asked
"I was thinking that we could go out for breakfast, well he would need to drink milk from his bottle but you get the point." I chuckled, my eyes moving to David then back to her.
"Sounds perfect." She sighed
"Stressed?" I asked
"Yeah, but it'll be worth it." She smiled
"Of course it will, Alex Johnson, god you have no idea how long I've been waiting for that day." I confessed

"Well, lucky for you, you're not going to have to wait very long." She cooed, bopping my nose
"Thank the gods!" I praised, she giggled and shook her head.
"Shall we go?" She asked, fixing David's beanie
"Oh, right." I nodded, grabbing the keys from the hook as we walked out of the house.
"Did you lock the door?" She asked
"Yes princess, now get in please." I assured her.

"Ok, let me just put him in his car seat first." She said, gently placing David in his grey car seat before buckling him up.
"Done." She smiled, closing the door and looking at me.
"Shall we?" She grinned, pecking my lips before getting in. I groaned, clearly the reaction she wanted since she laughed all the way to the restaurant
"It wasn't that funny." I muttered

"Sorry, I just love seeing you frustrated." She shrugged, taking off her seat belt and getting out of the car. I exhaled before getting out myself and shutting the door.
"Don't do that too much, I'll take it out on you." I warned, locking the doors as she got David out.
"Oh really?" She raised a brow
"Yes, now let's go eat." I said taking David from her.
"What are you gonna order?" She asked as we walked into the familiar restaurant

"I think I'm going to get the breakfast sandwich." I replied as we found a place to sit.
"Ohhh that's good." She grinned and nodded
"What about you?" I asked, setting David's car seat and him right next to me on the chair.
"Pancakes." She smiled
"Always." I chuckled
"Hey, they're good." She defended
"Never said they weren't." I said putting my hands up in defense

"And this adorable baby is gonna drink his milk." I cooed at David, he smiled widely showing off his gums. I chuckled and looked up at Alex
"What?" I asked since she was staring at me. She smiled and shook her head
"Tell meeee." I whined, dragging out the e
"You're just a good father." She replied
"I attend to be." I nodded, looking back at David who was tugging on his baby blanket

"And you will, you already are." She assured.
"Thank you." I smiled at her
"You're welcome." She smiled back.
"Goodmorning, what will you be having today?" Our usual waitress Fatima asked us with a smile.
"Good morning, I'll have a breakfast sandwich and pancakes for her with lots of syrup." I replied, setting the menu down as David started to cry. I frowned and picked him up.

"What's wrong?" I cooed
"You should give him his bottle." Alex said, handing it to me.
"He's so cute." Fatima smiled at him
"Oh yeah, you haven't met him." I chuckled, putting the bottle in his mouth.
"No, but he's adorable, and he got your eyes." She smiled at Alex who nodded
"Yeah he did, thankfully." Alex giggled
"If he would've gotten your eyes he'd be more handsome." I smiled at her.

"Shut up." She muttered, Fatima chuckled before excusing herself and walking away.
"Let me carry him." She whined, sticking her hands out.
"But you always carry him." I huffed
"So do you." She argued, I groaned and looked down at David who's eyes were wide open but was staring at Alex
"Fine." I sighed, handing him over to her making a smile form on her lips.

"Just a couple more days." I mumbled to myself as I picture us standing in front of the alter and waiting for the priest to tell us if we accept to marry each other. That's been one of my dreams since I first fell for her, I just can't believe it's finally coming true.
"What was that?" Alex asked, snapping me out of my thoughts as she looked at me with curiosity in her eyes. I smiled and shook my head.
"It was nothing." I assured her

"Are you excited?" Monica asked as I drove off from the airport. They got here at two thirty so I had to leave Alex alone with the wedding planner, since I didn't want David to be crying the whole time, I brought him with me. And of course James loves him.
"You could say that." I chuckled nervously.
"I can't believe you guys are finally getting married." She clapped resulting in James copying her.

"Yeah, me either." I nodded.
"Excited?" She teased, I chuckled and looked over to her as the light turned it's bright red
"Yeah, I am, I mean how can I not? I'm finally marrying her, this was on my bucket list and I never thought it would come true." I confessed
"And why not?" She furrowed her eye brows in confusion.
"When I left Omaha I knew I had lost her, and I did, as least for a while." I explained, referring to Dylan

"But then when he broke her heart I swore I wouldn't leave her like I did before, so I didn't. We got closer and my feelings for her grew even more than before, I didn't even think that it possible but it was. I guess along the way she fell for me too and through fights and drunk moments we ended up together, years later we're getting ready to tie the knot with David here with us." I smiled back at the baby who was spitting at James who kept wiping his face I'm annoyance

"David!" James whined, crossing his arms and puffing out his cheeks. I chuckled and turned back to the road just as the light turned green.
"If it makes you feel any better, I never did like Dylan." She said with a bitter face as she shook her head
"Really?" I asked, she nodded
"I only accepted it because Alex looked so happy with him, but when she's with you she just can't seem to stop smiling, that's all I ever want to see her do, smile." She explained

"I promise that for the rest of my life I'll do anything and everything to make her smile." I assured her
"Mommy, I want ice cream!" James whined as I drove near an ice cream shop.
"James we can't, your sist-"
"It's fine Monica, it serves to give Alex more time explaining the wedding planner how she wants everything." I assured her as I parked in front of the ice cream shop, receiving a happy squeal from James.

"You spoil him too much." She chuckled and shook her head. I laughed before getting out of the car and opening the back door to reveal a wide eyed David.
"Hi baby." I cooed, unbuckling his car seat and taking it out. I shut the door and locked the doors once everyone was out. I grabbed the blanket that David had managed to kick all the way down to the car seat and covered him with it since it was chilly and I really didn't want Alex to yell at me if he got sick on my watch

"Good parenting." Monica smiled at me as we walked into the shop
"Thank you." I chuckled and nodded
"I remember when Daniel was born, David forgot him at a baseball game and he started crying, turns out Daniel was inside the car the whole time fast asleep." She giggled, I chuckled and shook my head.
"At least he was better with the girls right?" I asked her, she scoffed
"Oh heavens no." She shook her head

"When Alex was two he took her to the pool and when it was time to go he brought home a different girl, point is the mom was really mad and slapped him, thankfully my baby was ok." She smiled softly
"Thankfully, otherwise I wouldn't have a son or fiancé." I chuckled
"Yeah, I guess not." She giggled
"You miss him, don't you?" I asked, she stopped and nodded
"I just want to know if he's gone or not." She sighed

"You want closure." I replied
"Yeah, I-need to know." She nodded
"Hopefully you will, you deserve that." I smiled at her
"Mommy!" James whined, pulling on her sleeve as he pointed at the ordering menu
"Ok ok." She laughed
"I'll wait at a booth." I said to her
"You want anything?" She asked
"Yeah, a strawberry ice cream in a cup." I said taking my wallet out

"My treat." Monica assured, closing my wallet
"Monica I could p-"
"I know you can, but I want to pay Jack." She insisted as she cut me off
"Fine." I muttered before walking over to a booth and setting David on the side and sitting next to him.
"Your grandma." I scoffed, he smiled and pushed the blanket to the floor
"David." I groaned, picking it up and shaking it before covering him again

He made a mad face before throwing it back on the ground and just as I was about to pick it up I was interrupted by David's cries. Sighing, I picked up the blanket and set it on my lap before picking David up and pressing a kiss on his forehead. I guess that made him happy since he stopped crying and stuck his tongue out at me.
"You're so adorable." I whispered, tickling his little stomach.

"He looks a lot like Alex." A male voice said
"Yeah, he do-" I cut myself off as I saw who was standing right in front of me, he was staring at David with something in his eyes I just couldn't decipher, in front of me stood Dylan.
"What do you want?" I asked, holding David close to me.
"Not to steal your baby that's for sure." He scoffed
"Well from you, I don't know what to expect." I replied.

"You know if I wouldn't have cheated on Alex he would be my baby and not yours?" He questioned
"But you did cheat, so he's my son." I spat
"Where is she?" He asked
"Like I'd tell you, go away Dylan." I sneered as David started to cry.
"What'd you name him?" He said
"David, like his grandpa." I replied
"Couldn't pick a better name? Like Kev-"

"See this is why you and Alex wouldn't have worked out." I said cutting him off
"What?" He asked
"You want everything your way, David is an important name to all of us, it's Alex's dad and a man who fought for this country and all you care about is picking a better name, David is an awesome name, I'm glad we named him that, and most of all I'm glad that he's mine and Alex's son and not yours." I spat at him

I laid David right back in his care seat before picking him up and pushing past Dylan before he had a chance to reply. I didn't care what he had to say anyways, he's the past and I won't dwel on him. Maybe he's right when he said that if he didn't cheat they'd still be together, but he betrayed the love she had for him and slowly turned it into hate. All I know is that I'm glad he cheated, otherwise I wouldn't have David nor Alex. And I don't see a life without them.

"You ok Jack?" Monica asked, walking towards me with James who was happily eating his ice cream
"I'm fine, we should go." I suggested, she looked at me strangely but complied either way. On my way out I saw Dylan talking to a girl who was sitting on a booth, something looked familiar about her, but I ignored it and walked out.
"Are we going with Alex now?" James smiled as we all got into the car.

"Yeah buddy." I smiled, turning on the car and driving off.
"But we didn't get her any ice cream!" He gasped, a frown plastered on his face
"It's ok, I'll share with her." I assured him. He smiled
"Can I share wid her too?" He asked
"Of course." I nodded. The rest of the car ride was silent besides David making weird noises and James giggling when he did so.

"Alex!" James squealed as we arrived to the house and he jumped out of the car and ran towards her.
"James!" She squealed back, hugging her baby brother as she kissed his face repeatedly. I smiled at them as I took David out of the car.
"Is the wedding planned gone?" I asked her, shutting the door
"She just left like two minutes ago." She giggled, walking over to me and pressing a kiss against my lips.

"Did you fix everything?" I asked her
"Yeah, we're ready." She nodded
"I'll take the boys inside so they can their ice cream." Monica said hugging Alex before taking the kids from us
"We, should go too." I said to Alex, she frowned and shook her head.
"What happened?" She asked, I gulped and looked away from her.
"What are you talking about? Nothing happened." I assured her.

"Jack." She insisted, putting her hands on my chest.
"Your mom told you, didn't she?" I sighed
"I'm upset that you didn't." She said
"I just got here, I just didn't want to bring it up." I shrugged
"I'm your fiancé-"
"And the mother of my son." I muttered, cutting her off
"Exactly, you need to tell me what goes on, especially now." She said cupping my face.

"We're getting married in a few days Jack." She whispered
"I didn't think anything of it, he was just saying that of he hadn't cheated, then David would be his baby and not mine." I explained to her
"Even if he didn't cheat, my heart belongs to you, my first love and only to you." She assured
"I know, I could say the same to you." I smiled
"Good." She grinned, pecking my lips

"Now, let's go inside, a birdie told me you're sharing your strawberry ice cream with me." She teased, turning around and walking away
"Oh no you don't, you aren't leaving til you give me a proper kiss." I said grabbing her wrist
"Fine, pouty." She said bopping my nose
"You love my lips." I smirked
"Mmm, there's no denying that." She giggled, wrapping her arms around my neck

"Just a couple more days." I mumbled, holding her close
"A week to be exact." She smiled
"That week is gonna feel like an eternity." I groaned
"But it'll be worth it." She assured
"Yeah, it will." I nodded
"I love you." She murmured
"I love you." I said looking at her lips before leaning in and kissing her passionately. I don't know how long we stayed there, just kissing, but I know I'm lucky enough to kiss her lips for the rest of my life
