Quick guide. Italics mean that its a thought that a character is having. Italics will also mean sign language. Bold means a computer-generated voice and announcements. Please please do not judge my music preferences and the songs I mention.

When Sloan was 6 years old, a blue box fell out of the sky. It was a special thing, that blue box, it contained a man. A very special man. A man called the Doctor. Little did six-year-old Sloan know that the Doctor would be one of the most important people in her life.

~

Sloan sat at the library engrossed in her favorite book series. Well, her favorite book in said series. 'Ghost Huntress: The Counseling' by Marley Gibson.  At least she was engrossed in it until she felt a hand on her shoulder. She jumped in fright her hand went to her heart as she looked at the person who had frightened her.

"Didn't mean to frighten you, but have you noticed anything strange going on around here?" A man with big ears and a leather jacket said.

Sloan looked at him in confusion. Strange? Nothing strange ever happened in Leadworth, other than the duck pond without ducks and the crack that was her bedroom wall. Thankfully that was taken care of many years ago. Seeing as he was watching her waiting for an answer, Sloan reached into her bag and pulled out a notebook and a pen.

"Strange? Not that I noticed," She wrote to him in her notebook and held it up to the man. He looked at the book before looking back to her.

The man seemed surprised at her reply, "oh I'm sorry are you deaf?" He asked genuinely concerned that he made assumptions.

"Not deaf, can't talk," She quickly wrote out,"sign Language? Easier. You can talk still."

"Oh, right, yes I do understand sign language. I'm the Doctor by the way."

"The Doctor? As in blue police box the Doctor?"  Sloan asked because she wondered about the face. His eyes widened in surprise. How would she know about the TARDIS?  He thought to himself. He quickly hid his shock.

"How do you know that?"

"Your face... It's older than the one I've seen and different, but your eyes are younger than the Doctor I know." Sloan told him. It was true the Doctor she had met, the one that crashed into her backyard had a younger face. If he was shocked at that revelation, he didn't show it. He stared at Sloan curiously.

"I never got your name." He said trying to sort through all the information he was given. She got out her notebook again and wrote her name. He looked at it and nodded. "Nice to meet you, Sloan. Now, are you sure nothing strange happened around here?"

"Nothing more strange than when I met you for the first time," she told him and what a day that was. He quirked an eyebrow but she hadn't continued in that thought but he left it alone. If it actually was him then it must have been a future self, he was sure of it as he had never seen this girl in his life before. "Can I go with you? If you don't want me to that's fine, it's just that I never get to do anything. My sister is really..."

"Travel with me? I don't know."

"Please? I want to go out somewhere and I already know the box can travel in time. Also that it had a swimming pool, in the library?"  Sloan begged. She was afraid if she didn't leave now she would never get to leave. Her sister was dead set on waiting for a man that may never come back. He may have promised, but Sloan was used to broken promises. Her life was full of them.

"Alright fine, but hurry up, I am not going to wait all day!" The Doctor conceded. Sloan grinned and told him to wait as she ran to her house so she could grab something very important to her. Her baby blanket, which didn't count as a baby blanket as it was too large for it to be. She got the blanket when she was about four years old. She also grabbed the bag she kept packed in the floorboard in her closet. Then she was ready to go.

The Doctor quirked an eye at the blanket, when she arrived back at the library, but otherwise paid no mind to it. They walked to the TARDIS and the Doctor unlocked it. He walked in and waited for Sloan. She had taken a breath before walking in. She knew it was going to be bigger on the inside but not this much bigger. Her mouth dropped at the size but she recovered quickly. It was amazing, very amazing.

"This is my TARDIS it stands for Time and Relative Dimensions in Space."

"She is gorgeous! She seems very familiar..." Sloan signed. The TARDIS seemed to have understood and gave her some sort of hum. The Doctor stared at Sloan in shock. How could she know that the TARDIS was a she? He couldn't focus on anything but the question floating in his head now. He didn't even notice that Sloan had disappeared.

Sloan was following the line of lights, that seemed to glow as she stepped through the hall. The lights stopped as she saw some doors. One opened slowly without her touching anything. She stepping inside and gasped in shock. Her room was an exact replica of Damon Salvatore's bedroom from the vampire diaries. Her dream bedroom. She had always wanted a room just like Damon's. Amy wouldn't let her though and she was stuck with a room that screamed Amy.

"Thank you." She said in a whisper. When she had told the Doctor earlier that she couldn't talk it wasn't exactly the truth, but it wasn't a lie either. Sloan has never really spoken a word to a living person. Not when she was little, and not now. This was something that Sloan felt she had to say with her words and voice. The TARDIS hummed in what Sloan thought was appreciation. She put all her things away, well the things she had on her.

It was just one giant bag filled with shoes and clothes, and her electronics. She went nowhere without her electronics. Not ever. Her music was her life. There was nothing Sloan adored more than music. Amy could never understand how music was the one thing that could change Sloan's mood. It just did. She could be all hyper and in a great mood and one song on the radio could change it. She would go all silly when "El Coco No" By Roberto Jr came on she danced and sang along.

Sloan turned to the mirror and sighed. Her black shorter sort of curly hair was a big poofy mess. Sort of curly because it curled if it wasn't brushed but puffy and terribly looking when it was brushed. She took in every detail of herself for the millionth time. Her eyes were her favorite feature on her. They were a rich chocolate brown color. Everything about Sloan was completely different from Amy.

She was adopted into the family, still when you live your entire life with someone you have some similarities. There are none. Sloan looked almost Hispanic. Thick black hair and a birthmark to prove it, not that she knew for sure of her origins. She would never know because she didn't have parents to answer those questions.

The Doctor had finally snapped out of his thoughts and turned to ask Sloan something when he noticed she wasn't there. He groaned to himself the TARDIS was an infinite place she could have gotten lost. He wandered around to see if he could find her but there was just too much to look in. He had asked the TARDIS for help after about twenty minutes.

He was lead directly to her bedroom. He was confused the door and knocked. Sloan opened the door and grinned. She stepped aside to let the Doctor in. He looked around the place, surprised. The room was huge and dark... It was something the Doctor hadn't thought Sloan hadn't liked. His other companions liked other things for their room. Like stars on the ceiling or something to that extent.

"What do you think? It's an exact copy of my favorite bedroom from 'The Vampire Diaries' with some differences of course."

"It's... I have never seen the TARDIS do this for someone, not go all out completely."

"Guess I'm special then." Sloan grinned.

"I guess you are. Right, so we got all of time and space at our disposal. Where do you want to start?"

"Nowhere just yet. Tell me about how you have a completely different face from the one I know."  Sloan couldn't help that she was a curious person but it was really bothering her that the man she met had a different face from the one she travels with. The Doctor sighed, there was something about the girl. Her questions weren't ones that were typically asked.

So he explained how he had different faces, he explained everything she ever needed to know about him. He wasn't about to tell her everything, everything. She knew that he wasn't going to tell her all of his secrets. He was entitled to have them. Just like she was. She knew it was painful by the look in his eyes. So she tried to comfort him as best she could. She wrapped her arms around him, feeling him stiffen and relax after a few minutes.

"Thank you."

"It's not a problem. You didn't have to open up like that to me, but you did. I owe you a thank you." She told him after pulling away from the hug. He blinked in surprise, he hadn't expected her to say what she did. It was nice that she said that to him. It put him at ease knowing that she didn't care. "How about we go to... The past, any time, anywhere."

The Doctor nodded and they walked hand in hand back to the console. He grinned at her as he piloted to a specific place he had in mind. He really hoped Sloan liked where he was going. He looked over at her, seeing her sitting on the jump seat holding on as the TARDIS shook.

As soon as the shaking stopped Sloan got up from the seat. He sent her to the wardrobe to get changed into something more appropriate for Rome. She grinned in excitement rushing to find the wardrobe.

"Wait you don't know where it is!" He called after her only getting laughter in response. The TARDIS showed her where to go. She was lead to the roman gowns and she picked one out getting dressed as quickly as she could. This was going to be good.

When she finally reappeared the Doctor grinned at what she chose. He held out his arm and she took it, both walking out of the TARDIS. If she didn't believe that the TARDIS could go through time and space, she knew it now. This was the best thing she had ever experienced.

~

They run into the TARDIS both laughing-her silently - as soon as the doors were slammed shut. They had barely escaped from something called an Absorbaloff. Though it was strange to see a real alien to Sloan it was amazing and horrible. Yeah, she was planning on staying until she physically unable to do so. She slowly got up off the floor and told the Doctor she was going to change into something more comfortable to wear. When she got back to the console she saw the Doctor with a thinking face on.

"Are we planning on going somewhere else today?" Sloan asked him, making him snap out of his thoughts, in shock. She had spoken to him, and her eyes widened in shock as she realized. She never felt comfortable to speak to anyone.

"Yes, I was thinking about how well you took with the alien we met in Rome and was curious to know if you wanted to go somewhere else."

"Sounds good. Where?"

"I was thinking the Deep South."
