A/N: Welcome to a oneshot I have been planning since four months ago. It's smut free, just fluffy and adorable and pure Frerard! I love this so much. I hope you love it too.

———-

The day was beautiful, perhaps the most beautiful Frank had seen all month. The birds were chirping in the trees surrounding the neighborhood, greenery freshly watered and smelling of pure nature in the air. Though the atmosphere in Los Angeles was often humid and smoggy, today the sun shone brightly and the small breeze held a pleasant chill. Days like these were so refreshing, it made Frank feel happy to do his job. The sweet smell of flowers always did their job of making him smile and any glum day was made better with the sight of freshly cut and watered flowers. Frank enjoyed the pure and clean scent of nature, it was the most pleasant thing compare to the scent of gasoline in the Los Angeles air. And the smell of old fruit from the fruit trees some citizens neglected.

The place was only slightly similar to New Jersey, the place Frank was originally from. As much as he loved his hometown, even getting a tattoo of its initials on the inside of his lip, he wanted to start over with his life and shed his teenage self who smoked pot and screamed unintelligible lyrics into a microphone. He still adored music, but Frank wanted a calm and simple life since he no longer felt so angry as he did in high school. Though LA was hectic and overpopulated, there were parts of it where the neighborhood was calm and neighbors actually associated with each other. Frank's was a sweet old lady who also gave him peaches from her tree and on his right side was a Chinese couple who always said good morning to him when they took their early morning walk together. In other words, Frank was content.

As Frank drove through one of the prettiest neighborhoods in LA, his fingers tapped against the steering wheel of his van when he turned on the radio and Nirvana wafted out of the speakers. He hummed along to Lithium, lowering the windows and feeling how the fresh air tousled his dark hair. He had been meaning to cut his blackish-brown locks for a while now since it was so close to touching his chin, but he liked the way it curled slightly at the ends and that always made him put the scissors down. He tucked a chunk of it behind his ear and bobbed his head to the music as he turned down Newbury Avenue. A smile started to tug his lips up into a grin because he knew this street all too well, and since it was Wednesday morning, there was one destination he was always eager to visit. His heart leapt in his chest whenever he woke up and realized that Tuesday was long over and his favorite day of the week had begun with the rising sun and a hopeful feeling filling the pit of Frank's stomach.

Frank worked at a flower company, delivering all kinds of plants to the local flower shops in the city. He drove around a white van - with windows, of course, he didn't want to scare the little children when he had to drive slow in school areas - carrying flowers around, delivering them every single day. He found joy in his job because everyone he brought flowers to acted kindly, but there was that one person who he enjoyed seeing most of all. Oh, screw that, he absolutely cherished every Wednesday and Saturday where he saw this person.

Gerard Way worked at Donna's Flower Parlor here on Newbury Avenue, a place seated next to the bakery and the local thrift shop. The shop was fairly large and the glass windows were decorated with beautiful art drawn by none other than Gerard Way himself. His mother, the original owner of the shop, passed away three years ago so Gerard now owned the shop. That was when Frank had started delivering flowers to that store in particular and he remembered seeing the boy for the first time. He was only twenty years old and Gerard was twenty two, and though Frank had only lived for two decades, he swore that he would never meet anyone as beautiful as Gerard Way.

His black inky hair, his pink bow shaped lips, his almost feminine curves and his slightly chubby stomach were the reason why Frank lived. He was very awkward and he always had his nose in a comic book of some sort, or he was chewing on a pencil as he scribbled in a sketch book he kept behind the counter. He still did those things, but he had evolved into the sweetest person who was still shy, but not antisocial as he was before. He was a little sunshine, the reason why Frank's heart skipped a beat.

When he pulled into the back driveway of the flower shop, Frank smiled to himself when he saw Gerard opening the back door and propping it open with a brick he always kept by the entrance. The familiar sight of his inky mop of black longish hair and his pretty pale skin was the most pleasant sight and Frank felt warmth pooling in his stomach as it surged with excitement. He always melted a little when he saw Gerard, but that was his own little secret.

So beautiful, Frank thought.

Stopping the van and taking the keys out of the ignition, Frank pocketed the jangly things and stepped out of the van to greet Gerard who was smiling and walking towards him.

"Good morning, Frank." Gerard greeted in his sweet voice, coated with a bit of a Jersey accent. His pink lips were curled into a pretty smile and he tucked a lock of his black hair behind his ear.

"Morning, Gerard." Frank smiled brightly at the man and felt his heartbeat stop when Gerard's cheeks colored with his usual pink blush. They made eye contact and the moment they did, Frank felt complete. Gerard had such beautiful wide hazel eyes, swirls of honey and olive green creating his irises and his eyelashes were long and curly, black as his hair. The young man was so beautiful, it made Frank's insides feel warm.

"I do hope that you brought some roses, Valentine's Day is coming and the orders are already coming in." Gerard laughed softly and folded his pale and graceful hands together in front of him. His little uniform apron was pastel pink and his work shirt was the same color, a pair of tight black jeans hugging his chubby thighs and shapely calves.

"Of course, the entire van is full of them. We also have Queen Anne's Lace and some tulips, I added a couple of others just in case you were running low." Frank smiled and gestured to the van with his thumb.

"Oh, thank you! I didn't even think about ordering tulips for this season to be completely honest." Gerard chuckled and pursed his pink lips.

"Anything for you." Alright, perhaps this was Frank flirting just a bit with Gerard but it all came naturally whenever he was around him. He loved the way Gerard's cheeks turned pink, reminding him of the delicate petals on a rose's stem. It was such a beautiful sight.

Gerard giggled softly and moved forward a bit, looking up at Frank through his eyelashes. "Well, let's get them in the shop then." He said shyly.

"Come on." Frank nodded in the direction of his van before turning around and stepping around the vehicle to get to the back door. Opening them, the smell of fresh flowers and greenery escaped into the air, a sweet scent that never failed to make him smile.

"They're gorgeous." Gerard breathed out once he saw the particularly large roses sitting in the back along with the rest. They came in various colors, ranging from red to white and even peach. Frank did have to agree that these were gorgeous, it had been so long since he carried such large roses.

"You'll get plenty of business with these. I guarantee it." Frank smiled and reached out for the cases of flowers in the cool van.

"I might keep some for myself. They're my second favorite flower." Gerard helped carry two boxes, walking alongside Frank as they headed into the back of the shop.

"What's your first favorite?" Frank asked out of curiosity. He knew Gerard enjoyed flowers, but he never noticed him admiring any specific ones.

"I'm more of a peony person. Their shade of pink is so lovely, even if that seems a little girly of me to say." Gerard giggled and went to the open door of the refrigerated room where all the flowers were displayed.

"Pink is pretty." Frank had to agree and his eyes fell on Gerard's lips. Their shade of pink was just as lovely as peonies, appearing to be soft as the petals of the flower. Many times Frank had longed to kiss those pretty lips, or simply touch them with the tips of his fingers.

Gerard glanced at Frank and a blush blazed across his cheeks when he saw where Frank's gaze had rested. Realizing he had been caught, Frank chuckled nervously and placed the boxes down on the ground where Gerard had set his down.

"Well, um, maybe I'll save you a few peonies one day and sneak them over to you." Frank suggested in a, dare he say, shy tone. He felt his stomach doing somersaults and his hands were slightly shaky. Gerard never failed to make him a nervous mess, but at the same time, he made Frank's heart pound and overflow with the most beautiful emotion.

He was so in love with Gerard.

"Can't you get in trouble for giving away flowers for free?" Gerard raised his thick black eyebrow.

"Yeah, but what the company doesn't know won't kill them." Frank merely shrugged and grinned at Gerard.

Gerard merely rolled his eyes and laughed his contagious laugh. "Come on Frank, we have a lot of unload." His hand brushed Frank's arm when he turned and started heading towards the door again, and from the way he looked up at Frank from under his eyelashes, it was clearly intentional.

Frank nearly collapsed onto the ground but he somehow managed to contain himself.

——

"That's all of them." Frank sighed after setting down the last box of the room now filled with colorful flowers and the sweet smell of nature. Gerard stood next to him, looking around with a small smile gracing his beautiful lips.

"Thank you for helping." Gerard murmured softly.

"Of course."

Gerard rocked back on his heels and blushed softly, turning his gaze down to the white roses beside him. He clasped his hands together and played with his thumbs.

"So, Frank, what are you doing for Valentine's Day?" Gerard asked meekly.

Frank felt a tingle of nervousness prickle under his skin at that question. Now that he thought about it, he wasn't doing anything in particular on that holiday - in fact, he hadn't celebrated it in five years. He didn't want to seem lame to Gerard, but he also didn't want to say he was celebrating with someone and lead the latter to think that he had no interest in him. All year he had dropped hints to Gerard, but the man was so oblivious to all of his comments.

"Well, nothing as of now, but maybe I'll make plans." Frank swallowed and hoped that would suffice or at least sound convincing.

Gerard nodded and pursed his lips for a moment. "Are you planning on asking someone out?"

Oh, fuck.

"Um." Frank panicked for a second and his skin flushed with embarrassment. "Actually, I'm not t-too sure yet."

Gerard's eyes flashed with something for a moment before he composed himself. He pulled his lips up into a smile, but it looked slightly forced. Frank felt his heart ache.

"Oh, who's on your mind?" Gerard blinked a few times and swallowed.

"Someone I see often." Frank considered stopping there, but he wanted Gerard to take a little hint with him before he had to leave to make more deliveries. He took a step closer, gulping and locking his eyes with Gerard's. "He's beautiful. And sweet. And I hope he likes me the same way I like him."

He watched as Gerard's entire face took on a pink hue and his eyes widened slightly. His lips parted slightly and his expression revealed pure shock before he composed it, shutting his mouth and instead smiling shakily, tucking a lock of his dark hair behind his ear.

"W-well, I hope all goes good for you, Frank, you deserve it." Gerard nodded quickly and stepped away to retrieve a crate of roses.

Frank felt his heart sink when Gerard let the major hints slip. He just wished that he would notice, that he would reach out for Frank and the never ending gap between them would finally be closed. He yearned to hold Gerard close, touch him the way he wanted to since day one and say everything he was too afraid to say. It seemed like he was always chasing after Gerard, the latter just had no clue Frank was running thousands of miles just to reach him. He knew deep down he would keep chasing him if he had to, but he was afraid Gerard would slip away and land in the arms of someone else.

After this short conversation and yet another failed attempt of trying to retrieve Gerard, Frank ended up like he always did every time he saw him - having the paperwork for the flowers signed and giving his goodbyes.

But Frank felt braver than usual. Gerard needed a push, a sign that his affections didn't lay with another man, solely with him as they always would.

"I'll see you with a new delivery on Valentine's Day, Gerard." Frank half smiled and stopped in front of him.

"Of course. See ya then, Frank." Gerard smiled sweetly and chuckled.

Frank wasn't letting it end there. Not when Gerard was so beautiful standing there with a pink glow to his pale cashmere skin, the wind blowing around tendrils of his pitch black hair. His heart tugged and pounded, but all in the sense that he was falling even more in love with Gerard just by gazing at him.

Leaning in, Frank pressed a lingering kiss to Gerard's cheek, feeling it become warm before he pulled his lips away and brushed his nose against Gerard's before stepping back and admiring the blushing, shocked mess he made of the latter. Grinning more to himself than at Gerard, he waved before jogging over to the van and hopping in it.

His hands were shaking when he shoved his keys in the ignition, cheeks hurting from smiling so much. It was just a simple kiss on the cheek, but when he glanced at Gerard once again, he was touching the cheek that had been kissed with a heart warming smile placed upon with gorgeous lips. Frank realized it was more than just a little gesture to the both of them because it revealed half of something Frank had been feeling for too long.

And he knew exactly how to tell Gerard the way he felt.

A/N: part two coming soon! It'll be even cuter the next chapter, I guarantee it.
If you're desperate enough I'll add a part three with cute smut. Maybe. Just let me know if you want that.
