"I really don't need you here." I told my boyfriend, Anakin Skywalker, and his master as well as my brother Obi Wan Kenobi
They had come after there being threats against me. Obi Wan and Anakin, being the overprotective men they were for me, had to make sure that I was safe from these threats. After their presence had been known, the threats elevated to actual murderous attempts. Although I wouldn't admit it aloud, I was glad Anakin and Obi Wan were here. It was more ensuring for me that they would find the killer soon enough for me to be able to go back to rightfully ruling my people on Stewjon. (Obi Wan's home planet)
Anakin shook his head," You do. It's more than threats now, (Y/N). It's actual attempts to hurt you."
He took my hand in his, lacing our fingers together. Obi Wan was the only one that knew of our relationship and although he had disliked Anakin at first because of how overprotective my brother was of me, he grew to appreciate how much Anakin cared for me.
"Anakin's right, my love." Obi Wan said in a stern tone," We can't risk not having you protected."
I rolled my eyes," I can take care of myself, thank you very much."
"I know." Obi Wan chuckled," But let us do this. At least for me as your big brother."
"I don't have any choice either way." I huffed
Anakin chuckled," You'll be fine until we get to find the assassin. We'll protect you."
I sighed," Just do it quickly, yeah? I'd rather be ruling my people with freedom instead of having to be cooped up in the palace with nothing to do."
"And here I thought you'd love us being here." Obi Wan shook his head, his hand over his heart, pretending that he was hurt
I smiled and shook my head at his childishness," I love it whenever you visit I just never like the instances in which we have to meet." I sighed as I looked over the beautiful city, smiling as I watched the townspeople
"We won't meet this way after the war ends." Anakin smiled sadly, wrapping his arm around my waist
"I hope so." I murmured softly
I smiled at him thankfully before looking over at Obi Wan," How is Owen?"
Owen was our brother and weirdly enough Anakin's step brother. He also approved of our relationship which made me happy and I made visits to Tatooine to see him and his girlfriend. (Owen is thought of to be Obi Wan's brother so that's why I'm here including this cutiepie)
"I obviously can't really reveal myself without him knowing who I am but I've looked over him. He's done well." Obi Wan smiled
"He's wondering when you'll come back to visit." Anakin noted
I smiled softly," It's been a while since I've last seen him. I suppose I should visit soon."
"I could go with you when you do." Anakin offered
I knew he missed his step brother/brother in law and I smiled, nodding," Of course, darling." I leaned up to kiss his cheek lovingly before leading the two men away from the balcony and through the hallways of my large palace," How's the war? Is it bad to say that I'm glad that it hasn't come to Stewjon?"
Obi Wan hummed softly in thought for a few moments to think of an answer," I wouldn't describe the war as good or bad. It's more as..."
"Never ending?" I offered and he nodded," It's been going on for so long.. I don't suppose that there could be any diplomatic and peaceful solution to all this warfare."
My brother sighed and shook his head," I believe that there isn't, dear. We've tried but the Separatists are adamant on not being a part of the Republic."
"So there is obviously the need for warfare. They don't listen, we just have to force them to listen." Anakin said
I frowned as I looked over at my boyfriend," The warfare is meant to only restore peace, Ani. You can't force them to do anything."
"Learn your place, Anakin. You're a Jedi, you only ask for peace and balance." Obi Wan said in a condescending manner
Anakin rolled his eyes and shook his head. I sighed as we continued walking. I loved Anakin but at times, his views contradicted his ways as a Jedi. Then again, he was dating me, that was enough of a contradiction of being a Jedi.
To reassure him, I held his hand in mine as we walked," I have a meeting with the state representatives in a while. I don't have to ask if you're going, do I?"
Anakin chuckled," We'll obviously be there. Not in the room because we know that it is confidential but we'll be around the building, making sure that nothing happens."
I smiled," At least it'll be some freedom."
We arrived at the meeting building a while later and I was in the middle of the conference, discussing a change in foreign policy, when the explosion happened. The force of the explosion knocked me out of my chair and before I could get up, I was forcefully grabbed. A cloth was put over my mouth and I quickly fell unconscious, limp in the stranger's arms.
When I woke up once again, I realized that I was chained to the wall. I frowned, looking around and ignoring my throbbing headache. It was too dark to see anything even if I strained my eyes enough. I groaned at this. Where were Anakin and Obi Wan when I needed them?
A door opened across the room and I watched as a person walked in with a smirk. I bit my lip, trying to make out the features on their face and I almost rolled my eyes at the face that the person was wearing a mask.
"What's the point in making yourself known if you're hidden behind a mask?" I told the person
In response, he (I supposed it was a he with how the body was built but I could be wrong) punched my lower abdomen which made me gasp out and wince in pain.
"Not that strong without your Jedi around, are you?" The man sneered (I knew now it was a man unless there were actual women that spoke in such a deep voice. For some reason, I was thinking of that and it almost made me laugh out loud if it wasn't for the grave situation I was in right now.)
I clenched my jaw, choosing against answering him. Anakin and Obi Wan will come soon and the man will go to prison.
Another punch was delivered to my stomach," Answer me when I talk to you." He spat
"Why are you doing this?" I managed out
The man chuckled," I've got my own reasons. What a disgrace you've made of our planet for becoming Republic."
"We've flourished under the protection of the Republic. Our loyalties lie with them." I tried convincing him
He snorted," The Republic is corrupt. You must side with the Separatists. Their interests are with the people."
"Their interests are with death and destruction. I will never ally with the Separatists." I spat angrily
I got rewarded with a slap to the face and multiple hits to my abdomen," You will be forced to form an alliance or your people will suffer."
"My people play no part in this." I wheezed out, trying to recover from the pain," They will not be held guilty due to my actions."
"You must decide then." The man said before turning his back on me and leaving the dark room
It was a day or two (or even more, I couldn't even tell time in the stupid dark room) when I heard commotion outside. I was physically too weak to do anything so when the door had been knocked down, I barely even held my head up to see who it was.
I could barely even register that it was Anakin picking me up in his arms and telling me that I was going to be okay until he had kissed my cheek and told me to sleep.
I knocked out from my lack of sleep the past couple days and didn't know of anything or anyone until I woke up on a sickbed with bandages around my body.
I whined as I tried to sit up but I couldn't with the pain that immediately shot up from my sides.
Anakin was at my bedside, softly snoring, but when he heard my noise and the movement, he woke up immediately. He was a light sleeper, always wanting to have me protected and safe even in his sleep.
"(Y/N), you're awake!" Anakin sighed out in relief, getting up and holding my face in his hands, leaning down to kiss me
"It hurts.." I whined softly as we pulled away from the kiss," What happened? Where am I?"
Anakin smiled sadly," After the explosion, Obi Wan and I searched all over for you but we couldn't find you anywhere. Obi Wan then had a vision when he was meditating about you being at the location we found you at. It was underground which was extremely dangerous but we managed to get you out in time before the ceiling would cave in. Obi Wan's been here during the day and I come during the night to make sure you're alright. We were so worried for you- I was worried, (Y/N). I'm so sorry. We should have have been there much earlier. You wouldn't have-"
"Stop." I tried smiling at him but it seemed more of a grimace," It wasn't your fault. You couldn't have foreseen this happening."
He sighed," I still think it's my fault. I-"
"What did you and my brother do with the Separatist?" I smiled softly, reaching over to hold his hand in mine
"Against my better judgement, we turned him in to the authorities for questioning and an investigation to determine what was the purpose for all of this." I could sense the anger radiating off of Anakin
I feared that my boyfriend wanted to do something far more worst to the Separatist yet I didn't want to think about what would have happened if he did it.
Pushing that thought out of my mind, I squeezed his hand," Come on the bed. I want to cuddle."
He was weary but nodded, fitting into the space I made on the bed. I smiled as he wrapped his arms around me and placed my head on his chest," You did the right thing. I'm proud and extremely thankful."
Anakin looked down at me and a smile grew on his face as he kissed my temple," I love you."
"I know." I giggled," I love you too."
