"Yes, Ms. Roper"? I ask.
"I wanted to talk to you about helping me after class" She explains.

I nod for her to go on.
"So basically, I need help after class. From grading papers to helping me plan a class period and things to do, and it would count as extra credit". She adds.
Holy shit... After class... Alone.. With Tay...
"How many days out of the week"? I ask.
"It would actually be 5 out of 7 days a week, and sometimes the weekend". She says.
Ooh giving up my weekend...
But that's extra time with Roper.. Alone...
"How about you take a few days to think about it" she reasons.
"Why me"? I blurt.
She bites her lip and look away.

"I - I just thought you'd be the best person, cause you do r-really well in my class" she stutters.

"Oh okay. Well Im honored to". I say.
She shows a hint of shock. Then she smiles.
"Great, thank you so much. That helps out a lot". She says happily.
I can't stop grinning either.

"Okay, well you will start tomorrow then"? She says with hopefullness.
"That'd be great". I say.
I can't stop grinning.
"Okay, great. I'll see you tomorrow then" She says.
"See you tomorrow Ms. Roper" I reply, right before walking out the door.

"Oh my God. She wants you to stay after class"? Jake asks. He about chocked on his water when I told him.
I start laughing. "Dude, I swear. She says it's some extra credit thing or something". I tell him.
"Why you"? Carter asks.
I get an offended expression.
"No, I'm just saying, did she say why she picked you out of everybody " He replies.
"She said I do really well in her class, so she thinks I'm the best fit. " I reply with confidence.
"Are you gonna try anything on her"? Blossom asks me.
They all stare at me, impatient for my answer.
"Guys, I don't think I have the guts to do that" I say shakily.
"I don't want to get in trouble" I add.
They all nod sympathetically.

As I pull into the driveway, I I sit there for a moment.

"Hey mom" I greet her as I close the door.
"Hi baby, how was school"? She asks me while she's stiring the pot of Mac & Cheese.
"It was good. I actually have something to discuss with you" I tell her and sit down at the table.
"Oh no, am I in trouble"? She jokes.
I laugh. "No, Ms. Roper needs someone to help her after school everyday, to help with grading and like planning and stuff, and she asked me". I explain
"Oh wow, sweetie. Are you sure you can handle that"? She asks with concern in her voice.
"Ya, I'll be fine" I assure her.
"All right, then I have no problem with it" she tells me.
"Thank you " I say
"Your welcome, sweetie. Now, come and get some supper".

"So you won't be hanging out after school then"? Blossom asks.
"No I will, I'll just be at the park around 4:30, maybe 5" I respond.
"All right well I have to get to last period, I'll see you at the park" she says to me.
"All right, see ya" I wave goodbye as I head the opposite direction to Ropers class.
"Hey Lilleth" Tay waves to me as I walk into class.

I feel the butterflies go crazy instantly without fail.
"Hi Ms. Roper" I wave back.
"All right class, I have a meeting Im being forced to go to, by the way you didn't hear that from me, but since I have to, Mr. Carter will be watching you guys. So today is basically a free day, unless you owe me something, then you need to be working on that" she tells us.
Some of the kids cheer, while others groan because they have missing work.
Me? I'm dissapointed she won't be in class today.
"Behave guys, or I will assign detentions" she warns.
As she walks out the door, she turns her head and smiles at me.
I feel my insides go crazy.
